  1. Alright Guys, I'm conteplating my next motor and I need some info assuming you guys have ever run this setup....... What I plan on doing is building a 4 mil stroker, with a 2 into 1 pipe, 2 into 1 graydon intake and 35mm carb..along with my Gorr port cylinders assuming I can get them adjusted for a 4 mil crank if not Fast Mx Port...I'm just wondering how this mototr will pull...I know it will be waaaaay donw low but what will the topend run like compared to say a 400ex or something... need input from you guys out there........ Josh
  2. evolve...you can send you shock to works and have them upgraded pretty much anything you want done to them can be done......... Firehead I don't know never thought about it like that I'll check it out though havn't really messed with it here lately been really pissed of at the bike............

Not to bust your bubble....but I run a lowend midrange port done my Eric Gorr (He's in Germany now) on the same type of terrain from wide open fireroads to really really tight technical trails and mine actually has more than i would like it to have for the type of riding I do..I couldn't imagine what it would be like wih a dune port.....lol All my mods are in my sig basically the same stuff....but I will ask you if you have Suspension? If not suspension will be your best bet to buy first that way it can handle the power your motor will make later on down the road.....I also did this back asswards.....my motor first first and then suspension now I realize how stupid I was for not doing the suspension first.....Also I think LOCO on here has pretty much had a motor ported by any and every guy out there.....ask him and he'll prolly give you some tips...If I had to get another one done It would be by FAST I waited 4 months for my port job and when I got it back I understood Why I had to wait so long....it runs like a damned raped ape...that being said Why do you think Jeff is backed up so far?......Because his shit works!
  4. well Glad you chimed in on this you sound like you know your SHAT... see the thing I've learned about the RS Coils is, For some godforsaken reason they will not give you a reading...When I got this thing new I tested it, just as you would test your stock and could get nothing, the primary would just go off the wall different readings everytime and the secondary would you you no reading with the wires on or with the wires off, but when you put it on the bike sure enough it would run....just don't understand it....As for the plugs won't run anything else but a resistor plug NGK BR8ES... I'm going to try and get a coil to throw on to see if it will start but for some odd reason I'm leaning towards the CDI being bad. This will be the second coil bad in 2 years if it is but......When the first one went bad it had none of the symptoms that this problem is giving me. If in the case I cannot find a coil by this weekend jus to see if it will run so Iknow what I have to buy I will gladly send this one to you to get it tested....only thing I forgot to mention is when I did get this coil from RS last year I took it around to 3 different shops in the huntington area..to have them bench test it and everyone told me that RS sent me a bad coil.To make a long story short I threw it on the bike just to see if it would work contrary to all the testing and sure enough the banshee started right up......I can't believe it has been this difficult to diagnose the problem but most of this is due to lack of resources due to noone around me riding a banshee.......... thanks Josh

The RS Stator is on......The Harness had everything cut out of it boonman, only thing left is lights and switch but hell why it all stripped down i think I'm going to cut the kill switch out also and just get a tether and make the lights run constantly...there is noone around here with a hills banshee everyone has drag bikes with none of this shit on it most of them run the pvl I've been on the phone all day calling locla shops to see if they have a banshee that runs...nobody has a banshee....lol I called RS today and the guy said touch the leads of the multimeter to the coil terminals...I said ok liek the primary testing he said yeah, then he says if you see the readout jump then your coil is good, I said will it have an exact readout and he says no it will jump up and down and you wont get anything exact.....so that just crazy even if they are bad the readout will move..........I did talk to one of my buddies..that has a banshee but its been down for like 4 years now completely to the frame and cases split, he said he'll look for his coil but it will be a week before he could even get up to his banshee and look around for it....I wouldnt mind sending my coil to a trusted BHQ member so they could put it on their banshee and see if it works! This has been really frustrated...Even if my coil is bad it will be the 2nd one in 2 years..the I'll have had a new coil 3 years in a row if it is bad.........

Well here it is guys....The banshee died! went riding a couple weekends ago and at the end of the day on the way back to the truck it was acting like i was foluling a plug or something.....they were brandnew! Anyway about a week ago i get some works shocks and i kick kick and kick...it finally starts so I ride it and get it on the road to see how shee is running and it acts as if something is holding it back it prolly wouldn't outrun a 400ex....... after that ride it wouldnt start no more checked for spark........NONE! so I get out the ole multimeter and check the stator and it comes up bad...So I call rickystator and buy a new stator...it gets here and I check it also and it comes up bad! I'm like WTF! So I start looking at the mutlimeter and turns out it was bad! I go buy a new one and check both stators and yulp they are both good! oh well...Now here the Problem! it can only be the COIL or CDI I already went through the wiring yesterday! The only thing is I cannot test the coil to see if it is bad or not...Me & RS already went through this even their new coils will show up bad if tested. Also there is no way for me to test the CDI So now it's hit or miss but I bet after I get it fixed it'll have damn good spark! Sorry to be so lengthy but just wanted to let you guys know the story, noone around here rides a banshee only 4 strokes! don't know what the hell to do................. Josh

Persoanlly I dealt with them last month and will never deal with them again.......I have had a pair of alpinestar tech 6's for like 3 years or something and decided it was time for a set of new boots...so I call them up to roder a set of alpinestar tech 4's atv sole....And I kid you not the exact words that came out of the guys mouth was we don't carry those boots they are junk click....he hung up on me! so i call back and I'm pissed right?.....I'm screamin like that gay lil dick really got under my skin. i say well I called to get a pair of boots from you guys but it seems like I was being criticised for the type I want blah blah. Well all in all I got offered a deal on a pair of oneal m10 boots which they are nice he priced them to me for like $150 he said he came down from $180 anyway I say ok I'll take them. the next day I get my Rockymountain book and there they are for like $130 so I wait like a week after I receive my boots and call them back to say I never received them and they sent me another pair.....lol 2 pairs of boots for the price of one...fuckers Bad customer service along with totally rediculous pricing, I'll never ever deal with them again.

Yeah sorry about the pics I've been taking them all day and cannot get the camera to give me one worth using........BOOOOO..... anyway no there are no threads... the only thing there is...is like little grooves and that top spring stop.. under this top washer though there are spacers ...I don't know I guess I'll have to wait on kevin I rode it today for the first time and I'm inlove with them ...its a totally different bike ...think I'm going to have rezzies put on them though..............   15. totally understandable firehead........in no way am i doing this for a weight issue..just wanted to put out there what I have..this is strictly a ride height issue the preload strictly is not set the way i would like to to be so i though i would adj. a bit and since Kevin (proaction guy) is in Cancun i thought I would just do it myself..........pictures up soon

Got a set of work double rate valved for 185-95 rider (i'ma buck 70) anyway the problem is that the preload on one shock is set lower then the other My banshe is leanin like a gangsta....lol anywho I read the threads about this but really couldn't get anything from them....... the preload on one shock is the 3rd groove down from the top on the second shock its the second...I know compress the spring but how do i get the ring that hold the spring up top to move down? will it just fall or what....thanks alot! Josh

The only reason to get the shocks shortened would be to make them the same length as the stock banshee shock. thats just so you on't have people saying "OMG YOU RUN YFZ SHOCKS THEY KILL YOUR BALLJOINTS" thats the only reason! Also I just asked him what it owuld be to just replace the shock shaft and he said its $125 to get a new shock shaft only. just thought I'd say this for all the guys who possibly have broken one.....

Dont quote me on this. the way I understand it is.. on the yfz shocks, to shorten the shock they are replacing the piston with a shorter one not as long as the original factory on at the same time they are putting a shim, spacer or whatever you want to call it under the piston for it to rest on when it is full extended therefore stoping the shock shaft from coming out to the fully extended way of stock,, i know these seems really easy, i dont know though he said it can be done and he knows his shit so .............thats all i can go by at the moment.......
  19. as of now the the springs have been sandblasted so when I get time I can shoot some pc on them.......not sure what I'm going to do yet.....have to see how the works pan out....

I;m not sure I'm going to do it yet hes trying to talk me into it though, as of now i bidding on a pair of wrks dble on ebay so if i win them ill just scrap these but if not i'll prolly be rebuilding the yfz shocks.........if thats the case ill for sure let you guys see them and know what the pros and cons are if any......it'll be a write up........
  21. the shocks were free I paid nothing for them but one had a broken shock shaft.......... I know this guy extremely well he's my dads old buddy and just so happens to be a very good friend of mine also.......that being said he pulls some legs and............whaaa laa I get a really good price for everythng I want... I already tore the shocks down so they just need to be put together.....he charges $150 to even touch a shock well that was free......him revalving them is free the only thing I have to pay for is the tripple rate springs and the shortened shock shaft with that being said the big ole price comes to $255.82 the people that paid this for the 07 shocks are crazy "free shocks plus a rebuild that should be in the $400 range i would say I'm getting a dirt cheap deal...and I assure you the parts are quality proaction suspension are the guys that had a big hand in developing axis suspension the pistons in the shock are actually proactions they are EXACTLY them same...............

  23. Well.. I got off the phone with my proaction suspension guy........ i told him I had a bust 450 shock I wanted rebuilt he said no problem...he also said he could do bost and "tweak them so they would rebound way quicker....he said with the spring off the yfz shocks they reound at about 4 seconds but when I get the back they'd rebound in 2. also I was complaining to him about the yfz shocks being way long and ruining the ball joints on our banshees...he said the proaction guys have been shortening them to make them the length of banshee shock so they will work way better and be a direct bolt on (length wize). He only said good things about the yamaha shocks he said you can get them serviced and they'll be just as good as anyother suspension...he said they now have triple rate springs for them as well.... he have me a price.......to fix my shock rebuild them make the rebound faster and turn them into triple rates also shortening the shock shaft...it was unbeatable I dont want to say exactly how much but you cant buy a set of aftermarkets for what he priced this to me for!.............. Sorry for making another thread...........the other one got hijacked........
