  1. Music rocks, the lyrics have finally gone off the deep end. Overtly political is one thing, but just beingf wrong pisses me off. BYOB would rock if he would shut up. A few of the songs need o be edited down to under 5 minutes, they drag. I like it, but most of these songs would have not made it onto eithr of their last albums. Sounds like Serj is running out of material (ala Zach De La Rocha another tool).
  2. Put it in a quad frame, and make a cool cruiser. You wouldn't beleive the looks I get cruisin through the dunes on my V Twin.
  3. Try this thread... It should answer all of your questions. Thumb Throttle post
  4. How much suspension travel is there? How do you control bump steer throughout the travel? Do you require your steering stem to be run as well?
  5. Before the can of worms opens again, I will let you know. It is tough to do right, and expensive to buy because of the limited production.
  6. They didn't do anything last I heard, but I haven't talked to anyone with one in a while.
  7. If that's the route you choose, get the 8.1. The 6.0 has to work so hard to pull the truck that the 8.1 gets the same mileage. Everyone I know gets 10-11 MPG wether they have the 6.0 or 8.1.
  8. Make sure your coil isn't jumping to ground at the higher rpm's. Rev her up in the dark with all lights off, and you will see it if it jumps to ground, just look at the coil where the wires plug in.
  9. All I did was clean up the treads for the stock size. I did not use a larger bolt. I did use longer bolts. As long as it is not boogered up deep into the intake, you will be OK. Yes, it did happen to me.
  10. Trinity, last I checked, does not push this engine. They have head sealing issues. If you run a milled stock head, it will have head gasket issues. Not if, but when. I live near Trinity, and know a few people that had this motor, all had head gasket issues.
  11. Just rethread it and use a longer bolt.
  12. You will light you packing on fire as well. If you try it, do so with the pasitic off the first time.
  13. To tell you the truth, I don't remember where the stock one goes, but my aftermarket stator came with a seperate ground, which I had run to the bolt that holds on the brake ressy for the back brake. The metal eventually rusted, so I was loosinig the ground. I moved it to one of the case bolts on the motor. No more problems.
  14. I always do them in alphabetical order. I'm just a neat freak like that... But really, loosening doesn't make a difference, just tightening. If you are going to start digging in to the motor, buy a manual, it gives you all the torque specs and orders.
  15. I'm also in the LA area... Pismo trip time...
  16. You are definately due a stator check, but I would first check the ground from the stator to the quad. Mine was corrroded and would cause exactly thise symptoms. Moved the ground to the engine cases, and have had no problems since.
  17. I am not sure if the 250R thumb throttle is the same. Try it and see if it works. The reason that the thumb throttle gets lighter as you cut coils off is because the spring is too long to begin with. There is already tension (preload) on the spring when you first touch the throttle. I am just removing some of the preload so the spring is under less tension. And my Banshee won't say Honda on it for long. I billet cover is coming.
  18. JD Performance is a great company. They make quality stuff at a reasonable price. They come from the welding crew at Laeger. Really top notch craftsmanship.
  19. Sounds about right. Just remember MX is the most abuse you will ever put taht bike through. The more money you spend, the better it will ride. Fast guys will still be fast on a stock quad, but they do not get beat up as much, and that is what tires out us mortals.
  20. It's the Barnett clutch. They all drag. Try some YZ490 metals and fibers.
  21. You can trim some of the mount off of the airbox, and shorten the boots by trimming them. You can also buy boots from UPP. Theya re not only set up for larger carbs, but shorter as well.
  22. They don't build hand grenades. And they don't throw dyno quotes out to sell their stuff. They use conservative numbers to rate everything. If what you want is a drag motor, they are not you place. If you want a good relaible motor that will make good power and be easy to ride, they can help you. Without badmouthing anyone specific, I wouldn't take my quad anywhere else.
  23. Your pipes will melt the hose if left to rub. I have had these pipes on my quad for about 6 years now. I love them. Do you have the stock hoses? Mine clear, but you do have to loosen up the clamps and rotate them a little. Take your coil off and move it to the top of the coil bracket. So it mounts to the top not the bottom. Just make sure you sand the paint off of the top of the bracket so your coil has a new ground path. Feel free to shoot any more questions.
  24. Go buy the Motion Pro cable. The Terry Cable is trash. Everyone I know who has tried it has thrown it away.
  25. I take my motor only to Duncan Racing. They do top notch work. They port for relaibility not al out power.
