  1. Oh yea, the vibration is present even when I am in nuetral just reving it a little.
  2. So now that its all together, whats the best way to soak them? Lay on its side?
  3. I didnt soak the clutches, but I did wet them. I know when I put the engine in I put both dampers on one end. I remember them being opposed like you describe, but thought someone messed up. (the bike was apart before I owned it) I will switch that out first thing and see if helps. Thanks a bunch.
  4. Okay, just got my bike running again after a full rebuild. I used a hot rods stroker kit, weisco pistons, ebc clutch, cool head, rad valves, etc. Anyway, now that everything is back together and running there is a pretty strong vibration that comes through the pegs and the handle bars. Is this the nature of the stroker engine, or is there something wrong? The bike feels incredible, very responsive and crisp. I am still breaking it in, so I havent beat on it yet. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. thanks kevin
  5. I am looking for the same thing. I tried to check on AC's website, but it kinda sucks. I really like the pro pegs with the heal guard, but i couldnt figure out if they were available in the -2.
  6. I run 46" Mickey Thompson Claws on my 88 blazer. (Previously had 44 swampers, 42 swampers, and 38.5 claws)
  7. "There are no stupid questions... just stupid people."
  8. Meat, I could not have said it any better myself. Okay, now that the drama is behind us, I have a specific question about this. Boonman, with your experience in the woods, did you feel that you had to shift more and had a more 'radical' power band with the lightened flywheel? or was your feeling that everything was better. I had been thinking about adding some weight to the flywheel to keep it from dropping out of the revs. (This is from my experience with cars.) Do you have any experience with a weighted flywheel?
  9. I rarely get involved in matters like this but you are way out of line here. First of all if you knew anything about this site you would realize that the top 20 posters in this site are not 14 year old punks but rather passionate about this site and spend many of their waking hours contributing. Yeah some of it's BS but most of it isn't. These are the most dedicated people that this sport has and if you had been around here more than 15 minutes you would have read the post about "positive feedback" and recognize that these guys would do anything for a fellow banshee owner. They do this even to the point of giving away information that they make money with. If you were around more than 15 minutes you would realize that boonman also runs a machine shop and in reality is giving you information that he makes some of his bread and butter with. As generous as I am, I wouldn't do that. Consider too that every 15 minutes some idiot finds the HQ and posts some retarded thing like "what's the best premix" or "what kind of pipes should I get" and "what kind of tires are best" or another top 10 idiot thing to ask is "does lightening the flywheel do anything" or better yet "how do you lighten a flywheel". The response to that is #1 do a search. It should take all of 15 seconds to find 200 postings about it. And if that's too much to read, then think about how irritating it is to reply to this question every other day. The #2 response is nothing. You, like everyone else that scraped together enough money to get a lathe or signed up for machine shop or knows someone who has seen a lathe one time, will just have to practice on your own and hope it works. So far 2 of the top contributers to this site offered you more than you should have expected and they got a punk reply from someone who claims to be an adult but acts like a 12 year old who just learned how to cuss. There are to ways you can deal with this. 1- appologize without a bunch of BS extras and learn from the people who know what they are talking about or... 2- check out Bluetraxx.com Since most of us are banned from there anyway, you will never have to deal with our immaturity again. The ball's in your court. I figured my last post would be taken as an apology, but since it wasn
  10. You know, I have feelings.... and they hurt! PS- I meant nothing personal, just some harmless fun. I am sure all of you are great people. I guess its hard for me to convey my sarcasm over the internet, but I am just a free spirit who just loves a good arguement. So to everyone, dont take it personally and I hope to at least contribute something to this board. I have read plenty of good and usefull information on this site. Although my I love fourwheelers, my expertise is in automotive. My last project had me searching through countless boards and forums having to deal with punk ass teeny boppers who think they know all and are complete assholes to anyone new. I actually never really posted on those boards, but I would always see the same thing, 90% of the answers people got were 'try a search' or some other useless answer. (I say useless, because most of the time people were looking for a different answer or could not find it using the search) Anyway......
  11. You guys need to chill out. Damn. And by the way, just because they have 'more' post doesnt mean crap. look at the ones they have posted in this thread, they count, yet they have helped no one... well unless you count the entertainment. I have a saying that I love and I am going to share it with you... "you may have been walking a lot longer than me, but that doesnt mean you are any better at it." So anyway, everyone just needs to pull their twisted panties out of thier asses and just have a good time.
  12. Blow me. That is a fairly comical statement. In that you go bashing other members. When they are only trying to help. 4.84" is the final O.D. And 2.8" on the center hub. I trust you have a spindle to chuck it on? Then again, I shouldn't be so trusting with someone like yourself. You may be better off than trying to lighten it yourself........ It is an expensive mistake.... And it looks like shit when your done if you don't know PRECISELY what you are doing...... But, don't listen to me, I don't know a damn thing about banshees. I mean, hell man, mines allllllll stock..... There was no bashing on my part. I was actually just browsing through some of the threads, and when I read this one, I became interested and decided to support the original guys question. Its not like I was bugging anyone. What the hell? Do you remember when your parents would say... if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all? I say... if you don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation, move on. I am not a retard, if I desperately needed this information, I would find it. So basically, I was just letting this guy know that he could lick my balls. And as for you, well... I am sorry you have to be so condescending, to people you don't know, over the internet just to make yourself feel intelligent. Not that I care if you like me or know what I am capable of, but just to make you realize that not everyone is as dumb as you are, I just happen to run a CNC shop for a living. So yeah, maybe I should take it somewhere, you know, to save myself from making a mistake. Jackass.
  13. Blow me.
  14. I would also like to have a detailed explanation of this mod. Advantages, disadvantages? also, some pics would help. thanks!
  15. If you want red, and you are willing to shell out the $$$ You can buy an MSD coil.
  16. WD40 and armoral
  17. If you ride in wide open spaces, the twist is good. If you ride in the woods, the twist sucks ass. I Just bought a motion pro tors eliminator kit with the twist throttle. I rode one time (this past weekend) and I just modified the cable and reverted back to my thumb throttle. The arm pump definately sucks, and the part that bothered me the most was that everytime I would hit a bump or try to jump the damn thing would 'make' me throttle and rear-up on me. I almost killed some people. Anyway, if you do go with the twist you really need to get the fast version. The regular twist requires entirely too much twist. (like 1/2 turn) Me and a buddy of mine who rides a bike were just talking about this earlier. When you ride a bike you dont steer with the bars, you either lean, or move your body. This lends itself nicely to the twist throttle because you have a better grip on the bars. but when you have to steer and brake and throttle and hold on with the same hand, the twist throttle loses its benefits. Well, thats my 2 cents anyway.
  18. I think you better have your friend check the calibration on that street bike. The guy I bought my shee from was going on about how it would go 110. I questioned him a little bit and his answer was that his friends car was right next to him going 110. Besides, I recently took my 13 tooth front sprocket off due to lack of speed and over-reving every gear.
  19. I think you are all missing the best part, he said he paid $3500 for that POS! Now we know why he is so impressed. Oh, and check this out, this is his description "Yamaha Blaster race ready very fast no banshee warrior " And in closing, some retard actually bid $1000 on it.
  20. My banshee book recomends running 24:1, I dont think the damn thing would even start.
  21. I run 32:1 with redline oil. I used to use K2, but the redline is much cleaner and better. I know plenty of people who run higher ratios, but I figure, why not just be safe.
  22. Two into one sounds like a pissed off bumble bee. I love my fatty fmf's, but if you are really worried about low end, i have heard a lot of good about the fmf gnarly pipes. (except you lose top end)
  23. Because in 2006 it will no longer be legal for them to manufacture 2 strokes. Just like back when they banned 3-wheelers.
  24. I investigated things a little mare, and I discovered fuel in the 'overflow' tube that runs out the back of the carb. it also lookas like there hase been some fuel coming out of one of the side tubes on the other carb. Any ideas? The bike runs super strong on the top, but I think its getting flooded when I lift. ? I just cleaned everything up. I didnt do any measuing on the floats, but they seemed to be okay. Also, when I make adjustments to the piolot jet screws, there is no noticable difference.
