$100 shipped. Need the cash right now JD. If you want a polished one, I would still do some trading to polish one for you. -
I have been a little skeptical of the "gift" way of sending money. What happens if at the end of the year paypal submits everyones info that has used the gift option to the IRS? I know that wouldn't be in their best interest as far as keeping customers, but it just seems to easy to say it is a gift and not have to pay a fee.... And if that were ever to happen, you would much rather pay 3% than whatever the IRS charges for gift tax.....like 45% isn't it?

Official HQ ride! Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Your concerns are legit, but there are ways around it. The easiest way to get around sound is to put your bike in the back of a truck and drive in. I have never seen them ask anyone to start a bike up that was in the back of a truck for a sound check. But then you have to have the truck ready(extra ORV, State park pass, flag for the truck). If you don't have a truck, and if they are checking sound that day(usually only a few times a year), wait untill they pull someone over at the gate and then drive up to enter the dunes. They will not make you wait to get checked. And I have never seen them stop a bike in the dunes for a sound check. Once you are in, you are good to go. Spark arrestors are a different story, they will look for and tckt people in the dunes for no spark arrestor. Lastly, if you have never been to the dunes somewhere, you are doing yourself an injustice. Have to experience it at least once. And whatever you do, do not schedule your trip on a holiday weekend...it is so busy, if you don't know the ropes, you may very likely get turned away. -

I will soon be in need of some powdercoat work and you aren't too far from me. Are you doing work for people openly, or still in experimental stages??? I will need my chassis, wheely bar, cases, and some misc. brackets, etc. I would of course work a trade w/this and cash, or this and more polish work, or this some cash, and some polish work......I'm easy LOL! -

The hose is called Gates hose. It is the turbo intake hose and I was able to get it at Carquest. You should be able to get it at one of your local auto parts stores, I would think for sure at Napa, or if you have a speed shop in your area. Most Napa's can get about anything though! -
This bike is a duner/dragger so it never sees branches, woods, etc. I did this paint job 5 yrs ago w/good Dupont Chromabase paint and a good clear coat and I used an adhesive promoter and sanded the plastics just enough to lose the shine. Those plastics look really good still and have taken some abuse(mostly from transport, strapping, etc.) over the years. If you do it right and don't skimp you won't be touching it up every time you go riding. Now if you are talking about a trail/mud bike, all bets are off. Might as well use the cheap paint and keep plenty on hand for touch up. As a matter of fact, I plain wouldn't paint the plastics on a trail bike.

Will snowmobile carbs work on a banshee?
sheefreak replied to Alex29573's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
You definately cannot run a pump fed carb w/o pump on alky, and I don't think I would chance it on gas either. The opening is so small it will not fill the bowls fast enough when you are running wide open. A pump is not hard to setup and a mikuni pump is like $60 new. -

There are also pumper carbs that have the inlets facing up. You can tell the difference by the size of the fuel inlet. I am not sure what the sizes are but the inlets on pumper carbs are smaller than gravity fed. -

They are prolly a pumper carb w/the inlets turned down. I am not sure what the nipples are w/o having the carbs in front of me. -

It is funny that for the last 10 years I have been going to the dunes the fastest bikes on the dunes have the longest swingarms. This is real simple. As already mentioned, w/a longer swingarm you get more weight from the swinger, more rotational mass from having to run a longer chain, and maybe some more resistance from more chain. You also get more resistance on the big end from having to run more paddle to make up for the loss of traction from the longer swinger. Sure, if you were to put a longer bar, more paddle, etc. on a motor that doesn't require it, you are going to be working against yourself or slowing down. But on a big motor, it doesn't do much good if you can't keep from flipping over backward . Even running a bar, if you run too little of swinger w/too much power you will hit the bar too hard on launch and unload the back tires loosing all traction. Just like everything else in the sport it is a compromise. You wouldn't run a stock swinger on a 20 mil DM and you wouldn't run a +14 on a stock port 350!

At the very least, that motor was run and not purged. What a basket case and definately not as advertised. The seller is 100% responsible for this mess. It is unfortunate, but you just can't buy something like this w/o knowing exactly where it is coming from. Even if this seller did not truly know what was inside he needs to take responsibility and take it up w/whoever took him. I am tired of reading about this shit. To all you scammers out there, don't think this shit won't catch up to you. I am still waiting to run into ol utleybanshee one day. I and I am sure many others do not forget. Good luck, first thing I would do is contact dudes local police and get the ball rolling. Maybe it will light a fire under his ass to man up and make things right.

If you got the money for unnecessary items, spend away! He won't run those bowls dry w/stock cyl. port of any kind on gas.

Save yourself some money. You don't need straight cut gears and you don't need billet bowls for gas. If you are just building extra for a future build fine, but you don't need those items. For a more trail built bike I would be looking at the 30-33MM range for carbs.
