  1. Concentrate on cleaning your carbs first. You are lean on the bottom end and could easily be caused by a dirty pilot jet.
  2. A high idle would indicate a the pilot or midrange ckt being lean. W/a 62 pilot, and clip in the middle, you should be nowhere near lean. As a matter of fact, opening that dump up to .120 will make your midrange real rich at the middle clip. This is why you are spraying raw fuel, it is not because of your power jet. To start pulling off your PJ in neutral, you would have to hold the throttle open way to long prolly blowing the smiterines out of your motor. I would start by raising your clip one notch to lean it up. At your elevation, you may need to run it as lean as it will go(closest position to blunt end of needle). I also believe your pilot is too big...55 should be fine. On the top end, i have never messed w/PJ's that are metered by jets. As long as you are a hair rich on the bottom end though, your spark plugs will tell the story. If you don't know how to read an alky plug, you need to read up. And last but not least, you need to either run a pump or billet bowls on a cub motor. If you run any distance at all, it will suck those bowls dry and you will never figure out your jetting. There is a lot more to talk about, but I am at work and have to go. Good luck!
  3. Your jetting, squish, timing and all the little things can make that big of a difference. Get all those things dialed and you could see huge gains. I wouldn't dismiss the dyno yet... Ask Fouledout what a little tweaking of these minor things can do for ya!
  4. Trust me, If you are going to run w/o a lid you can't even run a stock filter. I am sure you could rig something up, but I am pretty sure you won't like it. If you put a wanted ad on here for a pro-flo adapter and filter of choice, you can prolly pick it up pretty dirt cheap. Your filter then has something to clamp to and you are all set to run w/o lid, w/Outerwares box top filter, etc...
  5. A pro-design adapter will fix your problem. Any one of the sponsors should carry them. You will have to run a clampable filter as well be it foam or K+N.
  6. I have read about the great times you have been running w/that motor. Congrats, that is a great number for that setup!! I am sure you guys will go faster yet. Good luck w/the pipes. There seems to be quite a few options these days
  7. I would have to agree, sounds like a possible electrical problem. If you have not done so I would eliminate your tors system as well as check all your connections, ground, etc. I had one act just like you are describing and it turned out that someone had taken the tors stuff off of it, but when they grounded the red/white they used a bullet connector and it was getting oxidized from wet rides etc. it was just enough to make it run like crap from 1/2 to 3/4 and on up. It would start first kick, rap out nice while in neutral, etc. I cut it, hard spliced, and shrink wrapped it and runs great now.
  8. Lol....is this an experiment Chris? I know you have been playin w/the 4 strokes lately but seriously????
  9. Start by drilling your dump tubes and mains to .120, run a 55 pilot, airscrew 1-1 1/2 turns out and needle clip second clip from the blunt end. If you are running a power jet, you could prolly get away w/a 116 main, maybe less. Start rich and work down. The beautiful thing about alky is it can run pig rich spaying raw fuel out the pipes and will still run ok. But do remember, you burn about twice as much alky as gas.....so a tank of alky won't get you far on the trails.
  10. To me, it is no different than when Tim Made me a swingarm in one day and shipped it out so I could get to the dunes that weekend . I was surely going to let other members know of my good experience w/Tim and this was before he was a site sponsor. Noone had a problem w/that....maybe it was because we didn't have a chassis builder as a sponsor at the time.......but, I personally want to know about places that are above and beyond in our industry. I would have told anyone that had a problem w/that at the time where to go.... My intention more than anything commenting on this post was to give a friendly opinion to alf letting him know that I personally thought what he did was distastefull and I would not want him to hurt his reputation further. Now if Mailman came on here and said, this person makes the best gaskets in the world and are available through me for anyone that wants to purchase them, I could see every sponsor on the site getting bent out of shape..... I will leave it alone at that.
  11. I am not sure I could have said it any better.... This guy started a thread to make other members aware of an awesome customer experience w/a certain place and IMO was doing the forum a great favor by doing so. He did not start a thread trying to sell dudes gaskets. There is a big difference here ALF. I am not trying to give you a hard time, I have had a good customer experience w/you before and have forwarded the story to others. Threads like this one, IMO, partially make up what is good about this forum. Thanks for the heads up Mailman.
  12. A lot of us will be there the weekend before for an HQ meet/ride.
  13. x2 I wouldn't even bother w/a super over any cub. You might, and I stress might, get a little more out of em. And remember, a set of pistons is about twice as much for the Super as well.
  14. How does that thing run compared to other rockets Pedro?
  15. I would love to have em, but no cash right now. Free bump for a great set of carbs.
  16. I like to hold two pieces of solder at the same time same bore both inline w/the wristpin. This will help give you a very accurate reading.
  17. Any pics? How did it go for everyone?
  18. Thanks bro! Felt good to get a little confidence back. Lindsay or Jeremy took them along w/many other awesome shots. I stole these off the web after she resized them. I would like to get the origionals.
  19. LOL, here is the link. http://www.2strokeheads.com/Banshee.htm
  20. Here is a link to one. The only bad thing I hear about this guy is he don't like to sell blanks. He wants to set the head up for you. But....I hear he know's his stuff!!!!!
  21. That is the best move you could have made. He will set you up perfectly.
  22. No bro, I have a graduation in Ohio of a real close cousin....Bummer that it is the same weekend but I will catch up w/most of you sometime or other in the next few weeks. I will be at Ionia the following week, silver lake for the 4th weekend and I will be the HQ ride on the 17th and 18th. Hopefully, I will get to party w/ya at one of those!
