  1. I would be down to go providing one of my bikes is put together and running...........
  2. All of my air tools are made by Ingersoll for the most part. This is the impact gun I have and my 3/8" air ratchet is of the same series: Ingersoll Thunder
  3. Yeah, that's what I am talking about. I don't think there is a way to use the rear cavities without machining the base of the cylinders. I think I have decided against doing this as I think the gasket may be more prone to blowing out if I cut it for the previously mentioned purpose. However, I am pretty sure I have done this before on a few other engines where I actually did machine the base of the cylinders and my old triple design made the upper portion of the case wet via a similar manner. :geek:
  4. The increasing of octane without need goes back to the prost that you make the most power with the lowest octane gas that will not self ignite (detonate) in the engine. I think if you look at the ingredients of most octane boosting products, you will find many of them are almost entirely strong solvents. However, whether they will actually break up and sort of fuel varnish could be debated. :geek:
  5. Are any of you guys cutting your one piece cylinder base gasket to accomodate the coolin pockets in the top of the case? I know it might seem like a silly question, but I am inclined to do it. The downside is that it makes the surface area on the gasket awfully thin in a few areas. The upside is that any temperature reduction or normalization near the crank chamber will always make you more power. What do y'all think? :geek:
  6. Several things here: 1.) Don't be afraid to ask questions or share ideas here, even if it's a bit outside a threads scope. Some of the best threads we have had here started out being about something completely different. 2.) If you just want to fool around with octane booster it's probably not a big deal and it may in fact clean you fuel system a bit as most commercial octane boosting products are quite heavily laden with chemicals that are strong solvents. 3.) I will never suggest building an engine to run on a fuel source that is dependant on an octane booster. There is too much variability built into a scenario like that.
  7. Where does it say what this product actually does................... I am still going to bang the drum for the all commercially available octane boosting products are garbage parade.
  8. VF3's and VF2's are close to the same and Boyesen RAD valves are also about the same. TZ500 reed cages are actually a bit better, but they are besmoing harder to come buy and you have to know what you're doing to make them work. The pyramid valves are a scam, IMO. I have always wondered about the perfomance and longevity of the small side petals. :geek:
  9. There really isn't an exact formula for such things. It all depends on what chemical you are using to alter the octane............beyond that, octane is poopulary determined via reasearch and test motor figures, which you really can't come up with on your own at home. Octane boosters are a generally a bad deal. If you cannot get race fuel or alcohol, you may need to consider configuring your engine for what you can get ahold of.
  10. If you mess up it just means you might have to get the cylinders replated. :geek:
  11. The pink Loctite was actually this :Clicky
  12. Yeah, that is the guy I was thinking of. I guess I didn't quite grasp the factthat he was from Ireland.
  13. I refuse to text message anyone. However my Blueberry does the email thing, and I can't seem to stay away from that................
  14. Yeah, the internal crossover intake are 1 piece unless they are cast. I use purple Loctite, what do you think about that.............
  15. Haha.........you have MySpace............
  16. I suppose that is a term I picked up from one of my technicians. R/R/R maybe a better description. Of course I have the girlfriend flying in tonight, so I probably won't get anything done past 5pm, unless I can talk her in to finishing it for me.............
  17. There was a guy on here, who I think was from PA that used to carry his banshee on the back of his car. I can't remeber his name off the top of my head, maybe it will come to me though..................
  18. Properly set up, a set of DM'S are a $6k engine, easily. :geek:
  19. That's awesome! I really like the 4 door short bed Africa and Australia export trucks. :geek:
  20. Do a search in this forum as this topic has been gone over several times.................. Worst case scenario is that you can write off your entire engine if all the stars align properly.
  21. I would have gone, but I am still in the process of swinging the engine on my red bike.
  22. Word.
  23. You need to have the top case machined, get a special head, but that's about it. You may wantto read about the Super Cub over on Planet Sand as it seems to have been widely reviewed as not making much more power than regular Cub. :geek:
  24. That's what I was thinking of.............Thanks for coming up with that.
