  1. I agee. I had the same setup in the past. Definitely the best out there if you can dough up the cash.
  2. Dave Moore does awesome work. He have sent many of my hard earned duckets his way.
  3. I wasn't knocking the stock timing curve. In many cases, it's what is best for the motor. The pink powerband is hot! The big question is....................where did you put?
  4. Build your own, it's more fun that way.................
  5. It's a necessary cost of doing business these days. That's why they have come out with the lower end packages like SolidWorks or SolidEdge.
  6. I bet that;s what they are. They could be old skool FMF HiRev's, but I haven't seen a set that nice in a long time (quit making them a long time ago) if that's what they are.
  7. I also saw that earlier. Stock cylinders and Toomey T5's are the secret. Painting the plastic on one side only saves wait along with the extra material that was removed when the case broke around the front sprocket. This is why you stay in skool, off drugs, and try avoid marrying your sister.
  8. I am big fan of Janssen or Roll Design a-arms. They are the best I have used thus far.
  9. I never broke any with my CPI's either, but I have heard some people have got their hands on some that did not fit very well. I can change the spark plugs on my bike without removing the pipes. It's not hard, you just have to take a little more time doing it.
  10. You will definitely notice a difference if you have some motor work done and understand the difference between the timning curves.
  11. I have a VPN set up between my computer and server at work and my home network. That's how I get work done for work at home. My extra curricular work is with "hot" versions of the software. FYI: My seat of UG and Catia V5 have a value of something more like $200k a piece. That includes the CAD, FEA, CFD, CAM, and simulation portions of the software.
  12. I only know where to get SolidWorks 2007 Premium. You can download a torrent file of at www.isohunt.com. That's where my buddy from work got it. You should be able to get in there faster than I can send it to you.
  13. That's an interesting opinion? Why do you think that Toomey's are a better pipe?
  14. Word. Lots of people do that or buy aftermarket hangers.
  15. Just for a sanity check in this coversation.............................everyone knows that most piston aren't oval shaped right? They are design as a series of offset ovals. THe manufacturing process they go through to get that shape is called cam turning or eccentric turning. Some oddball engines throughout history have actually used oval shaped pistons that were very noticeably shaped that way. I can think of a couple of Honda GP engines that did that. I think the design requirement that spawned that was a retardedly high rpm limit. I might be able to remember more after I eat lunch. :shoothead:
  16. I am not sure how I feel about that statement.
  17. The dimensions of the material is a bit misleading because it is measured before they spin the wheel. In other words, it is the thickness of the stock the wheel is made out of. I run Black Labels on red dune bike, due to the fact that I ride it pretty hard and have taco'd alot of Blue Labels. I have had this set of Black Labels for about four years now and haven't had any trouble with them. My new hill shooter is going to have Blue Labels on it though. Remember: the larger the aspect ratio between your rim diameter and you tire diameter is, the easier it will be on wheels in the sand.
  18. I didn't even notice..............the glow plugs in my brain don't even think about coming on until 10am on a Monday morning. I have been sitting in my office drinking a Diet Pepsi and eating Oreo cookies out of my drawer (I have no idea where they came from) since I got to work a few hours ago. Needless to say, emails and some internet browsing is all that has gotten done so far this morning.
  19. I basically do the same thing, but ever since I moved to California from Washington a few years ago, I am finding that there aren't as many places around to go do that kind of thing. People seem to be afraid of guns in SoCal.
  20. I have thought the exact same thing about the frame model and haven't ever done anything about it. Of course, now I could actually use it, so I'm kicking myself in the ass for not having done it when I had more time. I am contemplating buying a frame off eBay just so I can keep it in my home office (read: dining room area of my apartment) and gradually work on creating a model based on it when I get home at night. I figure that is the only way that I will be able to avoid spending many nights in the garage with my laptop. I am still hoping some one has already taken the plunge and made a model....................
  21. I would be happy to make a couple more of these for the price of material and some beer, but if I were you, I would certainly hold off on taking me up on that offer until I have atleast run this thing on the dyno for a bit. As with any new engine design, I am sure it will spend much of the first part of it's like running like a turd.
  22. I am making the cases for my triple. So, they will essentially be like the Mattoon cases. I am also doing my own cylinder which will wind up something like the Twister triple cylinders. I am going to make my own crankshaft using some sort of production pins (depends on the rod I go with), Banshee snout, and a Banshee out put flange with an extra key. I have the cases already cut and I have to run them out to anodizing this week. Then I will have to cut and bore out all of the bearing areas, ream the dowl holes, and tap the threaded holes. Past that, I am behind in the game and have alot of design work left to do. I have the cylinders outside mostly done, but the cooling, and all of the ports have a long way to go. It's going to take a bunch of jacking around in the CFD simulation to get that all worked out.
  23. I am not sure who I would pick, but one of the newer country singers would've worked. I personally like country music, but I know alot of people don't, though they probably would've watched one of them with more interest than the big, gay mess (Prince) they had singing.
  24. I think AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio would be what you are looking for. They should be pretty easy to figure out how to use and you can by books about them at the local Barnes and Noble if you need extra help.
  25. I don't have one, but I Google'd it and came up with .028". Hope that helps.
