  1. Word. The FAST shaft you can do yourself too if you are so inclined. Technically you can do the star yourself as well, but it requires a bit more coordination.
  2. I am not a small guy and I think that I ride or used to race in similar circumstances. I use a shift pro kit and a modified star with mostly aftermarket drive/clutch components.............. I just don't have the same type of problems. In any case, if you make sure you break torque to shift like you do with any type of transmission, then I still believe there is something else wrong here. :geek:
  3. Can someone enlighten me here: I have run Direct Drive's setup on several bikes that I have owned that made way more power than the bike in question here and I never had a problem like this. Is there some other variable that we are missing here? I am not sure the dunable override is the solution to you problem, it's just a bandage. :geek:
  4. That's funny right there.........I don't care who you are.
  5. Another question: Who made the lockout? (I'm asking since they are not all made the same, and I am aware of atleast a couple that seem to be really low quality). :geek:
  6. Hmmm. I wonder what we are supposed to do with powder coated over VIN's? I have the same problem......
  7. A loose chain and some hard riding will break second gear as well. :geek:
  8. Word. You need to have a pretty healthy engine (more than 150hp) to overcome the capabilities of an OEM'ish clutch with a lockup. If you didn't want to run a lockup, then an aftermarket 8 or 10 plate system probably makes sense. However, I would still prefer a lockup over these systems due to the fact that it's easier to get ahold of replacement clutch parts. :geek:
  9. Word.
  10. My guess would be that you have an air leak that is causing your EGT's to go really high........ ........a bad load of fuel could also be a possibility.
  11. Ignition timing that is too far retarded can cause detonation and overheating, just the same as if your ignition timing was too far advanced. Do you know what elevation you are running at in MO? I am actually a bit concerned that you might have an air leak somwehre that is causing a lean condition and the detonation you are experiencing. In a good condition, OEM engine, you should be ble to run non-oxygenated fuel premium 92-93 octane pump gas with 19cc domes 1000 feet above sea level with out an problems. :geek:
  12. Payment sent.......
  13. Do you have a picture of the wires? :geek:
  14. Can I get a picture? If I like it, I'll take it.
  15. I don't think it's bent, but I do think it's reaching the price where it might be better to wait for a getter deal on eBay.
  16. They were checking everyone it seemes like yesterday.......... Even some of the rails.
  17. I believe you can get an aluminum cover for a Direct Drive unit instead of the lexan cover. Atleast they used to do that.........you might need to call and ask.
  18. IMO it really depends on how much power you Cub makes and how you ride it, as to whether you need one or not. Personally, I think it may help you not break a second gear cluster no matter hopw much power you make. I would also like to hear from someone that has run one, since I am also thinking of buying one or two of them. I am unhappy with a few other parts like this that I ran in the past, including two that I made........
  19. Hinson makes a cover that allows clutch access with removal of the clutch without pulling the entire side cover. They are kind of cool, but are more expensive than the traditional Direct Drive covers. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of one........
  20. It's different......... I wonder what kind of hose it actually is. I kind of like it. :geek:
  21. As a heads up: Generally speaking, factory silenced drag pipe are still too loud for OR.
  22. What are you using to seal between the pipes and stingers?
  23. I think the tickets are $170 if I remember right. If you get one, you basically can't ride your bike again until you fix the issue and I think if you get a second ticket within some period of time after the first ticket, the second ticket costs twice as much as the first one. As some others have said, there is no running from the rangers at SL.
