I was stuck in meetings all morning so I missed it. :: -
The $100 or more thing, not including shipping, is the key.

Ford Ranger Baja Pre Runner Kits?
FireHead replied to 01bansheefox's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I am not sure what kit it is. I think it was something that was put together between my buddy and one of the guys that works there when we went down there one day. The truck does have new fabricated I-beams. -

I want to see the screen shot already.................. -
When I first saw it I thought he was going for weasel, which is why I came in a and read the thread. By defining it that way, I was figuring we were either going to get to see a product review for a Vietnam era tracked vehicle or a small woodland creature. Either way, it was going to be pretty cool, but, suprise, all I get to see is illiteracy. :verymad:

Tripod, kickstand, third leg, dick, I don't want to get into semantics. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

I guess I really didn't need to worry about being an ass in this thread. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

Ahha. I actually saw that video, that is, before it was pulled off YouTube. I didn't know that is what everyone was talking about. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

How did you know that they used to call me Mule Dick in may days with the circus? :yelrotflmao:

You're right. I was wrong. However, an inertia brake dyno is even less reliable and certainly alot less expensive. Basically, the only thing you can do with them is zero speed to maximim rpm testing. You really can't do any tuning with them. They can't profile follow, hold a constant load on the engine, increase or decrease load, along with several other things. In other words that type of dyno is very much like the game at the fair where you hit the plunger with a hammer inorder to send a projectile up a tower to try and ring a bell. I retract my previous statement regarding the accuracy and cost of the dyno as I was wrong. The dyno in question, probably cost someone $10k used, and I certainly cannot estimate it's accuracy or repeatability, as it basically doesn't have any. Every time you run on that dyno the result will be different every time. The dynamometers of this type that are manufactured by DynoJet have earned the industry nickname DynoGuess based on the fact that they are purely a novelty tool that is designed to add credibility to shops that do not have any or simply to send a customer home with a piece of paper to post on the internet in exchange for $100. ojcool you're an idiot. :shoothead:

Are we going to get to see the pictures?
-
It apparently came from the following: ojcool had apparently got into a heated discussion regarding the role of a dynamometer with dajogejr. Some how that wound up with ojcool stating that a dyno was the end all, beat all, tool performance characterization. During that part of the discussion it was brought up that ojcool had run a couple of Mustangs on a dyno. Fast forwarding a bit, dajogejr brought up the previously mentioned scenario and ojcool arguing with him about something regarding a dyno. I then made some sort of remark that stated that I might know something about dynamometers. ojcool apparenlty doubts that, and made a video, of what I assume to be his Mustang, appear. That pretty much gets you to where we are now (please correct me if I paraphrased any part of the discussion incorrectly). On a better note, you ought to go back an read some of this thread as it is fairly entertaining. I believe a Wookie and Rocky Balboa were even mentioned. :yelrotflmao:

I am about to go see if it can swim in the pool that right off my patio. :verymad:

Yeah, I do believe that is air/beer ratio is a bit off.

The damn peacock that lives in my yuppy apartment complex is running around making making a shit load of noise. It woke me up and now I can't go back to sleep. ::

Yeah, we should have already seen the pictures and solved the problem by now.

It could be remnants of a welded clutch push rod. It could also be a tweaked shift fork or a burr on the shift drum. Have you tried the rubber hose in the ear trick to see if you can narrow down where it's coming from more?

Let me preface what I am about to say by stating that no matter who decide to ship with, there is going to be atleast one bad story about the shipping company. USPS has lost several things of mine, but I went through the claims process and got a full value refund every time. They have never broken anything of mine. DHL nibbles on my nutsack. They have lost (never found) 4 large engines in big crates. It could easily be explained by one of our competitors stealing our engines to get some insight into what we are working on, but one of those engines that went missing was a Hino I6 diesel (read: easily 4 times heavier than the normal engines we ship) that was to replace the blown engine in one of our shop trucks. Plus, in no way shape or form was there any writing on anything to suggest it was a race engine (shipped straight from hino to us and our name didn't appear on any of the paper work, as it to be delivered to a different facility for install). Every time I have ever talked to a customer service person from DHL I basically want to kill them or myself. It seems like they actively avoid work, have no idea where anything is, and in general suffer from mild retardation. What's even worse is that they have a call center and shipping hub right up the street from us. The couple times I have had to go there, the customer service folks wind up being even worse in person. :shoothead:

^^Those blow a dong. I do have GBC (Green Ball Corporation (I learned the definition of the acronym the other day) single rib front sand tire. They work excellent and are quite possibly the best (and cheapest) sand front tires I have ever used. Some sort of Hauler or Edge tire from Skat Trak (they make several types of each tire) or Sand Stars from ITP. End of story. If I were to choose for you and your bike I would put a complete set off Sand Stars at all four coners. After readin all of the posts in this thread I get the feeling that you are going to be a v-blade kind of guy.

That's why the drag guys run and 8" rim in the back. The dune guys who jump run them as it gives you more sidewall and air volume to absorb landings, which inturn lessens the chand of D'ing out a rim. I personally think that the difference in weight between an 8" rim with a tire and a 10" rim with a tire is about the same generally speaking. As I rub my magic eight ball further, I may see that a set of Skat Trak B2B Ultra Light on a 8" rim weighs less than the same tire on a 10" rim (this is based off of a quick, half ass, mass approximation I just did in my head).

I have done both. The powder coat is alot more durable and is less likely to make the polished part look funny. Obviously not every has access to powder coating. The clear coat works well too, but you need to pay special attention to the type of paint you buy as many of them do not stand up to heat cycling. You may also find that the clear voat looks bad down in any tight crvices on the part.

Dude................how are you speeling wheels? Weales? I had to say something, but I didn't know how to do it without sounding like a wank. Those are some very nice wheels you got though. ITP Baja's are good stuff.

I'm waiting to see if some one buys it. I swear one of these days I am going to start sropping turds in a shoe box and sell it on eBay as free range fertilizer. :shoothead:

From that point of view, wouldn't it be better to make them out of a stock set of pipes?
