As stated above there is lazy way to clean the cases, i was just about to put my motor back together with m y new pistons and i looked down in the cases and saw about an inch of metal shavings from the piston that melted, not sure if its safe but i bought some carb choke cleaner and spryaed it all loose then pured some gas down swished it around and pored it out then i took a rag and cleaned anything i saw still in there. the dings in the domes are probably just from a past top end that grenaded or ran hot, my coolhead domes are a bit nicked up from the one piston getting to hot and melting so little pieces melted to thew dome and scratched it, my stock head i bought used was a mess so i smoothed it out with some sand paper bit i doubt its sand the motor would have already gone if you ask me

Just liek to begin saying theres more asshole posts than helpful ones, You have no idea how i take care of my quad, i bought the quad knowing they require maintence it dosnt bother me to buy amsoil for 10 bucks a quart or clean the airfilter after every ride, what gets me is, i just rebuild it did all the work myself everything was put in perfect, it ran great now it runs on 1 cylinder and if you hit the gas the other one will fire up, and the one that actualy fires pours oil like crazy out the pipe, and the one that only fires half the time smokes like a chimney, i dont have enough money to buy a crank and i dont no how to split the case, its either the crank seals or the carbs causing the problems the carbs are jetted perect and synched, cleaned so i have no idea whats wrong with it, my freind are up on there bikes i cant go with them becuase my banshee never runs i could always take the foreman out but its slow as sh#t, so what i think im gonna do is buy a cr 85r and ride it and rebuild as much of thre banshee as i can afford over the winter but from what info i put on here what could be cuasin the banshee to do that

I honestly just dont have the money for my banshee anymore, bought it in june had a solid month of riding no one could come near me in a race, blows up in july is out all of august finish the rebuild around august 25th, then it runs great for a week next t starts runnin horrible, goes constantly down hill unil it bogs so bad you cant get it out of 1st gear, now i need new carbs and crank seals, i just dont have the money, i no my crank is shot anyway, i paid 3200 for it now what do i do sell it as a peice of junk and get 2000 fix it and loose 1000 bucks that i dont have what does a shee rider do in this situation
  5. I have the carbs apart now but i cant get the throttle cable back on the slide.... Its to dam hard to put the spring in then the cable then that little metal thig its drivin me nuts
  6. My bike has always run great with 280s, but i just have basic mods like pipes reeds cool head and stuff like that, but latly its been givin me lots of trouble so i bought some jets today and the guy recomended 230s so i bought em is it safe to drop that much??
  7. Other sides like chrome, but the one side just has a few spots that are a bit rough i dont think it affects performance or at least from what i was told

Tors is removed parking brake is removed, runns like this hot or cold but latly has been runnin much hotter, pretty much happnd overnight put it away after it ran great took it back out the next day and its runs like a 250ex, everythime u hit the gas it just bogs, but even when it finly does hit powerband the powerband is weak not what it usally is, this bike was just rebuilt and ran like a raped ape for 2 weeks not its just sucks, its runnin hot and boggin real bad its getting almost impossible to even start it off in 1st gear becuse it boggs down to the point where it just stalls

  11. And thats all there is to it it just boggs horrible everytime you touch the gas whecter it be shift letting off thegass then getting back on it, starting out in 1st its gettin redic also seems to be runnin hot.. HELP
  12. Thanx for all the replies still didnt get it fixed and yeah those plugs looked to dry to me there good color but no oil on them at all so im gonna have to get this thuing jetted becuase i dontno where to begin

  14. O yeah also sellin a pair of 20cc domes 1 of which has a few marks from pieces of the piston melting onto it, but other than a few dings they are like new sell them dirt cheap just make some offers,
  15. selling fmf gold series pipes with powercore 2 silencers, like new i can get pics but the chrome is still perfect, and if sound is a concern there quite for the most part serously sound exactly like a streetbike from a distance if you have never heard them, sellin the stock crank its useable but it could use a rebuild, sellin stock reed cages with fmf torque reeds on them, and stock carbs anyone interested thow a post or pm on here

The guy who had the bike before me disconected the tors, i got fmf pipes and silencers, pro flow intake with k&n airfilter , brand new wiesco pistons in there .70 over have about 10 hours on them, the porting on the bike is very slight so basicly i wouldnt even call my shee ported, got the noss head with god nows what size domes, got the reed spacers with stock cages with some fmf reeds on there, and i got the alba tribal flame red graphics but those are good for only 1 or 2 hp now my prm grab bar and vp racing fuell stickers add lots of torque and hp more than any drag port u can think of, ooo just remeberd i got my frame done in black and i didnt rejet after that Could it BE????

I can make parts , im limited to what i can do so far,i only got half day in the machine shop becuase i gotta go back to schhol for 2 classes a day but i can work the cnc machine, but i just learning the codes for the cnc , made myself a billet gas cap, oil dipstick, throttle cover brake resivor cover and stuff like that pretty fun to make and see them on your bike and sure beats spendin the money i do all my stuff basicly copying stock parts same tolerances for measurments and stuff like that but you can still put your own touch on them by the designs you put in them and stuff so give him your stock parts

My shee dont feel fast now it sucks, like when you shift your in the powerband not the usual shift bam powerband hits you gotta hang on for life, its more like shift and it pulls somewhat u can feel theres a poweraband but its weak, it seems like its boggy and not pullin all the way to the high rpms, it feels like your givin 1/4 throttle when you really have it pinned, heres what ive tryed so far cleaned carbs, changed plugs, cleaned pipes, all did nothin, i just rebuilt it and it ran fast as ever for 2 weeks then it just started runnin horrible, and another thing thats gettin annoying as soon as you let off the gas you better shift down to 1st becuase say your pinned in 4th goin down the road left off for a second to corner and then hit it again it just bogs even if you downshift a gear whats up with this any ideas??

I recently rebuilt my banshee and when i just finished it it ran like a rocket alot better than it did before it blew up, now things have changed it revs up fine but when you keep gassin it iut gets to a certain point like right into the powerband it just dont keep pullin if you no what im sayin, each gear has a powerband, when you make a shift you can feel the powerband its there but it dont keep pullin when your giver her full throttle its runs like your givin it slight gas, i put new plugs it just dont feel fast anymore what the hell it ran so good not its runnin like shit whats up?? If its any indication the plugs are good color but there bone dry..

Sound like me expet ive only rebuilt once but the coolent has been givin me trouble, im no expert but ill tell you what i have learned im in the proces of breakin in my motor and im running 3 and 1/2 ounces of amsoil to a gallon on 93 octane gas, after my piton melted into all little metal shavings i cleaned the case out real good make sure theres not dirt or anything in the case, make sure the rings are on the righ way the numbers have to face up or theyll last an hour worth of run time then grenade and fall into the bottom end becuase there coated a certain way to catch the oil, also check for air leaks in the intake , and jet it a bit on the rich side, let it idle for a good while then re torque the heads to 18-20 pounds then do it again make sure your gaskets are on the right way, and make sure the opening in the circlips are not lined up with the grooves in the piston make sure u slide the opening in the circlip away from the groove or the wristpin will push it out and score the cylinder other than that good luck 3 times a charm

What do i do know, somehow the stud that bolts the head on to the jugs stripped and the threads inside the jug is stipped so you cant tighten the and of the head down therefor it leaks coolent, its the 2 bolts that stick out on the end tords the front of the quad if you can picture the particular bolts were talking about, so what do i do is it safe to tap new treads but then how will the head slide over a bigger bolt, can i weld it on there or what is the fix to this problem
