  1. they are probably sprung too light. 250r's are much lighter than a banshee, and this would probably be reflected in the ride charateristics. but if thats not an issue, get out yur welder and mount them fuckers up!
  2. me too.
  3. those fucking washers will get you every time.
  4. dont sell it. whip out yur miter saw and install some 4x4 legs on that mother. WHAM, instant deck.

    Bump Steer?

bumpsteer is when the cycling motion of the control arms adversely affects the steering. depending on where the arm is in the travel range you may get sever toe-in or toe-out. its caused by the wide stance of the lower frame rails, and is very difficult to correct. LT to a banshee means long shock. this has several advantages, but they would probably only seen on extremely rough terrain. baja is a perfect example.
  6. i think it lasts pretty long. a guy i know who rides the local 250 expert class changes the topend in his cr250 every season. the bike is like a 98 and still runs fuckin hard. of course its been well taken care of, but when hes in a moto that thing is gettin fuckin ripped on.
  7. i use honda something, comes in a red bottle. it gets changed every other ride.
  8. 3 wraps of safety wire around each end of the grip. the trick is to bend the twisted portions in so that you dont hurt yourself.
  9. hey, an OKIE! if i were you id just start removing them one by one and playin with em a littleto see if ones shot.
  10. 4 pounds each.
  11. uh oh. give us more details on porting an impact wrench
  12. 600 is about right if take it to the dealer and have them do ALL of the labor. but who does that? boring should be 50-60 per hole at a dealer and pistons can be had for 150 on ebay including gaskets. but if part of your port is chipped away you may need to cylinders anyway. how bad is the chipping and where is it exactly?
  13. and its perfectly dry so no moisture in yur tire.
  14. im unsure about the length. try the drag forum, they are used to that kind of Q. for a chain, DID gold. hands down.
  15. why not run a bypass and a coil carrier? itd be a lil heavier, but the adjustability of those things is insane. i believe if i was going to all that trouble id call up King and get a triple tube on the way. no matter how much i look at tube framed objects, the craftsmanship always amazes me. nice work!
  16. you need to take it to a machine shop. is it welded at all? cause that could produce some problems. but i think that biggest issue is putting it back together and getting it to run true.
  17. motoGP guys are using nitrogen.
  18. well its not like 300 pounds of torque that comes on constantly. it comes on about 1400 blows per minutre so its like a vibration. and it only gets 300 in reverse, about 250 in forward. that way you can take off everything you put on. my other impact doesnt do that and it is a PITA.
  19. naw HP is HP. and the reason for that diff is cause of the RPM. a diisel will only rev out to like 3500 - 4000. instead of 9500 like that turbine. and Stan you should hear this fucker. sounds like im on tony stwearts pit crew, it rocks.
  20. ep thats pretty much all you do to lengthen it. but remember to add the length AFTER where the rear linkage pivot bolts up. if you dont youll have some fucked up geometry that would almost certainly be unrideable. for the carrier Cotton Eyed Joe makes some great one. hes a member here and will hook you up, as well as having great customer service.
  21. retail is $313, but i didnt pay that. i had a damn near brand new Blue Point impact that i traded in and had to throw down about $130. its been worth every penny. back working at the dealership all of the bikes we got in had shipping crates that had to be dismantled to get to the unit, and it got used constantly doing that. about a 2 weeks after i got it it developed a leaky seal in the triger, but snap on fixed that for no charge and gave me a loaner impact to use while mine was in the shop. i thought it was excellent of them to give me something else to use, thats customer service to talk about.
  22. this one is a 3/8ths air model. its the new one with the magnesium housing. oh my god its light, under 3 lbs. its balanced too. you can stand it up on the air inlet and it will stay there. i love it, i thought about getting the matching 1/2 drive, but i dont really need 700 lb-ft of tq.
  23. i see what you mean about the need for a much larger source of power to run them, thus being very inefficient. so are 3/8 impact wrenches trail friendly? EDIT i went back and checked over the exact specs and i was a lil off on the rpms, only 9500 instead of 13k. so that gives a corrected HP of 542.65 of course that wouldnt figure in things like a higher/lower line pressure than is specified (90psi), or the possibilty of water in the lines.
  24. his was a full size with blocked off PV's. he told me once it ran 111 and 6.3 in the eighth, on gas, no bottle.
