  4. you could do it to any resi shock. anything you are having overheating probs with. the more fluid the more the heat will disperse and the larger the tube the more air flow will cover it. just a thought.
  5. to the overheating issue. cant you just turn a longer reservoir? whether it be piggy back or remote, you could get git a another 6-8 ounces of fluid in there easily. theres nothing complicated to one, just needs to have a finely polished ID of stock size so your piston and everything will mate up.

  10. yup thats how i did mine. but mine was frozen like a sumbitch and it took some serious effort to remove. so antiseize the hell out of that thing when you go back together with it.

  12. remove carbs from bike, remove bowl from carbs, toss all the parts in a digital autoclave. the same thing i told you last time.

  17. i bet that is one scary fuckin ride. ive had a sportsman 800 to about 45 and though i was gonna die at that very moment.
  18. thats not a bad looking bike. the tires look a little mild, but i dont have a real clear shot of them. the only thing that i dont like about a YZ is that you have to change the upper clamp to put on a fat bar setup. but id take one over any other two stroke bike any day of the week.
  19. there isnt as much room for markup in aftermarket parts, so dont expect too much of a price break. factory parts on the other hand, i can guarantese im buying them for half price or better, compared to retail.
  20. thats true. the more i think of it, the less i would recommend just anyone trying it. it really helps alot if you have someone there to talk you through some of the procedures.
  21. i brought in the ohlins part. i can see what you are getting at with shaft diameter, and maybe i didnt realize it to be a huge part. I just think that the main valving stack should handle the majority of the work and have the clickers for very fine tuning. and thoe only thing i edited was a typo. if you will look it happend 3 mintues after the original post. far before any other posts. not trying to start a pissing match. just tell me why the shaft OD matters and how much. Im very interested in this kind of thing, and im sure im not the only one.
  22. i did today. it was fucking amazing + some more. it was also my first time at an MX track, and this was one hard packed mofo. i flat landed every thing the first few laps and it soaked it up. i slammed right into the face of a step up and it soaked it up. there is still some fine tuning to be done, but it never clacked out hard. Racetech's digital valving specs are real close to ideal for me, but next time i service it im going to go a little stiffer on the High speed compression stack. The 450 fronts on the other hand need some work. soaked up every thing but my rider shortcomings. meaning the real hard flat landings and the smacking into the face of said step up. i think the compression clickers are almost all the way in, and rebound is in the factory position. but i was very pleased with them too. just need some tuning. Overall the combo worked very well, the tires only left the ground when I wanted them too. Im in a welding/fab class so some custom a-arms are in the design stages. Once i get those done and tested im going to revalve the fronts with racetech gold valves also, then it should be riding like a bike not designed 25 years ago!

  24. i hate PWC's, and for a just reason. Every soccer mom that owns one lets little johnny ride it in open water. Well that little fucker thinks its fun to jump the boat wakes, the same one i jump with my wake board. I hate those god damned things. They need to be outlawed, or be viewed like crotch rockets, Driver's License (sp?) with a motorcycle endorsement.
  25. those are most liklely things. just get a new piston, rings and a bore job and you should be good to go.
