  1. Cool. Thanks for the tips guys. My only problem is it took so long to talk my dad into paying for it that the processor already went up! Oh well, I guess you snooze you lose.
  2. Well boys, I think this PC is about to take a capital shit so I wanna build a new one. My current setup is a frankenstein'd Dell from '04 with 1.7ghz. OUCH! Luckily I will be 'needing' this one for school since Im about to get into some 3-d modeling. SO take a look at what I have compiled and see what you think, the target price is under a grand. Intel 2.4ghz quad core processor, model Q6600, with an asus AI lifestyle motherboard/built in Wi-Fi. From there on I dunno. I want at least 2 gigs of ram, but am willing to start there to have upgrades elsewhere. I want a Geforce 8500GT videocard for its multi-out capabilites, TV and such. I'm going to run my current hard drive, and case/ power supply if I can. Does anyone see anything wrong with this for Solidworks or Pro-E?
  3. That's how mine have always been done. I'm with blowit on this one. As a machinist, .009 is a long frickin way. A tight fit, not interference fit, for that size should be within .0005 if I remember correctly.
  4. I tihnk quite a while if you keep it out of the sun.
  5. Dude you need to start facebooking me for shit like this. My bike's up here and it's in pieces, I can measure stuff all day. ha
  6. I always wanted one of those automatic cable luber thingies, but I never ordered one.
  7. I'd still try it, don't have much to lose.
  8. Ya, sorry I should have clarified more. The stock rear is 40mm the 450's front is 36mm. Not a big dif I guess.
  9. I got a ASV's on the bike, and an Applied Racing on the quad. For the money that applied lever is nice.
  10. I think you are going to cook it. I recall the piston on the rear shock being larger.
  11. I get 0.4906" on one of my shafts. What spring D are you looking for? Like wire diameter, or ID?
  12. Ya, I should have put more into my response. THat one fine looking desert ride, but still no 28k.
  13. you are the one on crack. that bike has had a few more things done than a lil motor work.
  14. LSR?
  15. you're wasting your money on new stock shocks. Plus if you're gonna rebuild anything, you should be rebuilding the one you already have and pouring some cash into a front end package, or some YFZ 450 fronts. you would probably have about $400 into a nice, adjustable, and serviceable shock setup. That's my personal cup of tea.
  16. That answer is linked to your wallet. Mine is skinny, so I rebuilt.

    Shock circlip

I dont think it will. Yamaha is pretty good about making their clips fit tight. So I'll make the circumference of mine the same size, or a tad larger, as the inner circumference of the shock bore. Then once it springs into the clip groove I should be OK. I haven't tried them yet. Monday is probably my busiest day of the week, so it will be late in the afternoon before I call them. The 2 hour time diff is going to let me have my cake and eat it too!
  18. I wouldnt give 50 bucks for that pile of shit. One would probably have better luck pounding his head against a wall for sound.
  19. For those guys with pitbikes. I'm selling my old fast 50's speed pipe. About one year old, with a few scratches from a slide across the tarmac. Dumping it in lieu of a big bore, since this one is standard sized. PERFECT for a stock or 75cc motor. Retail is $199 new, will let go for $75 plus shipping.

    Shock circlip

Well, I went ahead and pulled another clip out of the same damper. Its not the same diameter, however the size or wire appears to be the same. It measures .0880 in. If it comes down to it ill just calculate the circumference I need.
  21. EDIT: probably not, since it doesn't even have oil in it. ha.
  22. Do you run your bike like that, with the brake lines unrestrained? That would make me a bit leery of shearing one in the coil.
  23. Wow, that's some pretty neat stuff.
  24. Aurora Bearing, look 'em up. They got some good chit.
  25. Sure, you can use filler. If you have a hole that needs to be filled. But since the crank is an interference fit, you shouldn't really have any holes. haha.
