  1. If you plan on riding in Silver Lake you have to have spark arresters. to check for them first look on the silencers to see if it says any thing about them. if not, stick a thin metal rod into the exhaust. if the rod is not stopped by the time youget past the silencer, then there is no spark arrester. a spark arrester will block the rod from passing.
  2. got it, that was alot easier than i thought.
  3. when i push my bike side to side it makes a clunking noise. looking closer i noticed that it is because the axle on the right is not tight up against the swingarm. its only a small gap, but enough for the axle to move. the other banshees in my garage do not do this. before i went out on my own, i figured i'd ask. do i need to loosen the large bolt on the left side (to unlock) then tighten it up? how tight should it be?
  4. Yeah, wow, real tough.
  5. What does it mean when there is an anonymous member online?
  6. right on, ill go with the .190 and save myself some headaches. thanks for the replies.
  7. TORS: throttle over-ride system. basically a safety component. it will sense when the throttleis released, and senses if the parking brake is set. in both cases the TORS will not allow the slides to move in the carbs.
  8. Are you talking about the TORS? you lose all spark? so does the bike stall?
  9. I have been running 100 octane race fuel, is that too much?
  10. I am going to order my tires and rims soon. I think I am going with 20-10-10 skat-trak extremes, with 8 paddles. I am going to get them with a set of rims as well. Just wondering what thickness I should go with, is .190 too much? .125 to thin? I dont wanna go too thin and possibly ruin the rim, but dont want them to be too heavy. .160? Any input about tires or rims is appreciated. thanks
  11. not lookin at mine right now, but i do recal looking at it before and noticing that it is not quite straight.
  12. do a search on the internet using the words: CAFE and emissions. that should give you some good information.
  13. bought mine out of the newspaper ads a couple months ago. the guy listedit as a 3 place sonomobile trailer. got there and it is set up to haul 4 quads. its aluminum with ramp that stores in the back, tandom axle, ride on ride off, built in 2000. got it for $1300, not to bad. look around before you buy, manufacturers prices are high, u might find somethin.
  14. Got the PC pipes here too. I think they are great pipes, love the sound too.
  15. ur manual has easy step by step guidelines w/pics. about 1/2 way up ur swing arm, the chain should move something like 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch (the exact #'s are in the manual). to tighten first you gotta loosen the 4 bolts, loosen the lock nuts, and turn in the adjustment screws. be sure to turn them the same amount so your axle stays lined up correctly. and dont forget to tighten the lock nuts again.
  16. i checked out my stocks last night, but there is no o-ring in them. is there supposed to be? anyways i took the exhaust off and realigned it. it turns out that i had to drill new holes in the front brackets. this moved the pipes up and back against the engine. there is still a tiny gap between the pipes and the engine, but it is better than it was. we will see how messy it gets this weekend.
  17. i believe it is www.yamahapart.com that has good exploded views for references.
  18. I believe that is the adjustment screw which controls te rate at which the gas can travel in and out of the resivior.
  19. they are the PC Platinum pipes. I am gonna loosen up the bolts and see if i can get them to snug up a lil better. I did put the pipes on first, they were a pain in the a$$.
  20. The PC pipes on my bike dont seem to seat very well on the engine. The gap looks larger than my brothers FMF's. this is causing oil to be spit out, and drip down. im running 50:1 mixture. has anyone else had this problem? can i get gaskets or something to stop all the oil from makin a freakin mess?
  21. Yeah there is a huge difference, but riding on the flats isnt so bad, and ur bike will still make it up all the hills.
  22. ur right, they wont work the same. but i have ridden there without paddles and it is still a blast.
  23. The TORS wont shut the motor down, just stops the slides.
  24. PIPES for the power HANDLEBARS because aftermarket ones look way better. TORS ELIMINATION cause you dont need that junk PARKING BRAKE BLOCK off cause you dont need that junk either
  25. alright, sounds good. like I said it is running fine. the FAQ said to idle the bike and check color, so i was basing my judgements on that. thanks again
