  1. hmmmm...... ok everything is in place and the bike runs fine. In the FAQ i read that you should warm the bike up, put fresh plugs in and then let it idle for 10 min. then chek the color of the plugs to see if the pilots and air screws are set correctly. did that the first time and both plugs came out clean, real clean. so i turned the air screws in and did it again. this time pulled the plugs out and the left side was black, but the right side was still clean as a whistle. i adjusted the left side again to make it more lean, but the right side air screw is basically all the way in, so i cannot make it any more richer. Also the right side seems to be spitting out alot of oil from the exhaust. is it possibly just not seated completely? maybe no spark? but its running fine i think that the left side is pretty close to being good, but what about the right? could a plugged pilot jet be the problem? I have heard that running lean causes excess heat, dont wanna do that. any ideas?
  2. think you should be aliright if you pur a short screw in there to seal it off.

  4. oh oh oh, i see. no the screws are not supposed to lock on the slides. the angle on the slide allows for idle adjustment. the angle just comes down and sits on the rounded end of the idle screw.
  5. chillin at work, waitin for 4 oclock. me and my brother are going to get ac pro peg nerf bars for our bikes after work. excitement of my evening is puttin them on.
  6. your idle screws will set and "lock" nicely if you file down the angle till its flat. I did mine on a milling machine, one pass and its done. but then you can be sure that the idle screws will not move.
  7. Look in the carb for any debris, possibly metal shaving from installing the idle kit
  8. how much would it cost to fly your banshee to another country?
  9. how much would it cost to fly your banshee to another country?
  10. my younger has a 450, its a nice bike, but i love the two stroke rip. take a ride on one, the are fun and fast stock, but a banshee can be tuned to whoop its ass.
  11. I used the same kit. Yes you remove the cable from the handlebars down to the tors caps. then use your stock springs and connectors to replace the caps. also be sure to clean out you carbs real good after you drill and tap the idle screw holes.
  12. This is what i got, you could probably go close to the same jets as me since i have been told that i could be running 340 mains with a K&N and open air box. my set up now seems to work fine. || || || \/
  13. I am pretty sure that the pilots affected the idle, thats the only thing that i changed. anyway, i readjusted the idle, and put new plugs in the bike. Let it idle on its own for like 10 minutes and pulled the plugs to check the color of the electrode and center post. They were clean, no brown color to them at all. I read in the FAQ's that after a ten minute idle, they should be a chocolate color, that will tell you that your pilot/airscrew settings are right on. so today i will turn the airscrews in and idle it again. other than that the bikes seems to be running great, the bog is gone. thanks all.
  14. Ive seen that one, over and over actually. he hits a big mound and just airs it huge! dont know what i like more though, that jump or the cody guy who rides the three wheeler, he cracks my ass up.
  15. Thanks for all the responses guys. I just got the bike put pack together last night. I started it up and every thing seems fine. MY idle is too high now with the bigger pilots, so i will adjust that first. then i will fine tune the air screws. Thanks again.
  16. If i go up to a 340 main, will i need new needle? or change the setting on the stock one?
  17. Never heard of any reason to retard the timing. Advance ur shee 4 degrees, its a cheap and easy mod.
  18. you can buy a bracket for it. Personally i just cut the back off my stock air box and used that as a bracket. Just cut off the screw holes and the two mounts that hold the rubber gromits.
  19. will the 30 pilot be too big? can it be too big? what will the effects be? Just curious, im gonna buy and install them this afternoon.
  20. The 5-10 seconds in 6th - should i be riding it? or can i put it on a jack and just shift through the gears.
  21. I just got my 03 off the showroom floor for 5300 out the door.
  22. Discriminate!!! hell no! welcome to the forum. where abouts r u from? where do you ride?
  23. Silver Lake, count me in. Plan on being out there alot this summer. I ride with 2 other banshees, two 450's, and a few dirt bikes. I will be at SL either the first or second weekend, probably the second. Hope this weather changes!!!!!!!! anyway i need to get some paddles before i go. I have heard that the Skat Trak Extremes are a good paddle and last awhile. Good choice???
  24. I got mine through Magic racing, it is a kit put together by vitos. Comes with cable, caps, idle screws, and a drill and tap. around $60.
  25. Get the kit and take the TORS off. My brother wasted a whole weekend at the dunes when his malfunctioned, that was enough to convince me.
