  1. My vote would be for the K&N with a Outwear.
  2. Gobbler try not putting a thick coat of oil on the filter, it could restrict your air flow and make it tooo rich at WOT in your higher gears. What is you main and pilots??? You have to rejet with a K&N and lid off. Let us know.
  3. I run a mix of super unleaded and AVGas together at 50/50 with great response, very close to race fuel at over half the cost. I has done nothing unusal to the bikes and we have six bikes running it in our group with NO failures of any mechical parts. Have fun
  4. I have the same Pro Design adpator, I clean and reoil the K&N after every weekend, even with a Outwear. I do sand only which is worse than dust, so do what you please, but if it was me, I would be doing the wash after every trip!!!
  5. I highly recommend RK with Vortex sporkets, they have chain that is made just for ATV's while all the other banrds have common use chains. My two cents spend your money wisely.
  6. Sredish thanks for asking all the questions I'm thinking about for my change to the lighting system to my wifes bike. I will be looking at all your replies as well.
  7. My wife has problems seeing at dust amd early night time when riding back to camp from a afternoon in the dunes. She wants to get some new light but we have stock light right now with no mods to the stator. I have to replaced her stator because of some starting issues we are having. I know that many of you have aftermarket parts that can help me out at this but I have no clue what is good out there and what sucks ass. So help a brother out if you can.
  8. Dune Demon, you are the man, we all need to have brothers of teh shee like you.
  9. Like sredish said for for play, but I usually have a buddy or the wife give me a hand to get it done right. Have fun
  10. Check all the spots where it comes thorugh the cases to see if the is a groove in the metal, if so a new seal might not fix the prom, maybe new parts time.
  11. Best thing about that is the torque ratings, or spend the big bucks and get the Yamaha version.
  12. Sometimes alittle more is not always better. Do the 1.7 qts version and you should be fine.
  13. Please save yourself some grief in the future, put new ones on. other wise
  14. Demon, and Boonman, I had Precision Concepts in San Diego do my respring and valving for $330, with a gaurantee if I did not like the way it reacted they would make the changes I wanted. I think it does not help you much since your in the east coast but may help if you have them valve it and send it to demon for the spring. Have fun.
  15. Anyone found any differences between the new 3's and 2's yet???
  16. Probably stock ones, but need more info, I'm not hot rod on reeds.
  17. Trash it, get teh kit and a easy pull handle and never look back.
  18. If you did get the basket off ebay try a Vortex basket, they are around the slighty cheaper cost, just as good and easier to get, look on Vortex.com. Good luck.
  19. I think the JBweld idea has a lot of merit, just need ti drill the tap first and place another turnable item in it before you let the JB weld harden so you can turn and pull the tap out. Good luck.
  20. I have thier spockets on all my bike and road issued bike with NO failure so far after five years of having the products... oh they do wear out, just lie anything, but wear good.
  21. I had the same problem with the idle screws, needed to remove more material from the carb to get the screw in lower. Good luck.
  22. Goiod idea, she was able to kick it to start with no problems before we put the new pipes on, but has been getting worse and worse over the last year. Your missies was slightly smaller than mine, nice to have small girls hu??? . Thanks for all the info I will be doing some more research on the bike this weekend.
  23. I dropped the pilots back to 32.5's, I just haven't updated that part. The starting is worse like the carbs are running out of fuel, so choke it and for one kick, then I kick it (which is faster than the wife), and it starts right up. I guess that I'm not putting the best information forward, I'll start with some of teh stator issues and maybe advance the timing. Possible lightening of the flywheel will help her kick it. She's a small 105lb. girl that is a super model look a like. Thanks
  24. Bent anythings is always bad, anyone tring to straighten anything usually have issues in strength in the future. Good luck
  25. You could go to the Vortex website and check it out there, my wife sells Vortex sporkets and I have them on all my bike and they hold up very well to horsepower and ride conditions. http://www.vortexracing.com/ Enjoy fellas
