how would you know if your shee is heating
roosthrower replied to xt45's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I gotta agree with KRMit here. This kid is probably some dipshit that needs to get banned. What a fucktard. -
need help fat on right lean on left
roosthrower replied to ssbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
how are your crank seals? also at one time, I managed to change one main jet instead of both. It ran pretty crappy up top and one plug looked leaner than the other one did. I took me about 2 days to figure out that one. -
What's your fave part on the shee to work on?
roosthrower replied to sredish's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I'd say that my specialty is the carbs. I can change out the mains in about 10 minutes and the needles in about 15. I could see how playing with the jetting could be a bitch though if you don't have the tors removed. I hate working on anything that isn't related to the motor. I completed a frame swap though recently, so I think I got a handle on pretty much everything. -
I always shifted my banshee with my right foot. It runs alot quicker that way. oh yea and shift to maximize engine torque. what's up with all these gay threads xt45 starts anyway? get a banshee already or leave.

shearers are one of the highest revving pipes i've ever seen. the best thing about them though is that they don't burn your legs like cpi's and other inframe drag pipes. you can't forget about a set of cut t3's though when your talking top end pipes. they rev to the moon as well.

got the shee tuned and dyno tested
roosthrower replied to ozstriker's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'll have to get mine tuned right as well after I get a set of cut t3's and the 34mm carbs in. I'm looking for 60+ hp. This will probably be in a few weeks though. Stay tuned... -
20 ft. lbs. torque = 240 in. lbs. torque
roosthrower replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
240 in. lbs. of torque at 10000 rpm is roughly 38hp. I guess I'm a little bored since this is completely off topic. -

roosthrower replied to Nightrider's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I guess that's the difference right there. I'm running a stock head and I'm at sea level. -

do you have some head milling done as well? with my compression tester, I get a reading of 150psi with my power pistons. That's also the number that vitos said I should get with a set of power pistons. -
you will benifet more from a larger set of carbs than you would putting on some vforce cages.
-
you probably wont gain all that much with a stock motor and all. I'd say the gain would be comparable to putting on a set of aftermarket reed cages. one or two horsepower and maybe a ft/lb of torque with most of the gain coming at high rpm.

I never really thought about how the longer rod motor would stay at tdc and bdc longer than a shorter rod motor would. It all makes alot more sense now. Thanks for the your input Ducman. This place is starting to turn into planetsand with threads like this.
-
I was thinking that the longer rods were 5mm longer than stock as well, but I wasn't going to say nothing since I don't have a long rod setup. Also your not supposed to go any wider on the exhaust port than 70% of the bore. Wider will get you into excessive ring wear/snagging. There are ways to get around the water jackets and keeping your rings together though. Triple exhaust port is the ticket if you can afford it. If only yamaha would have kept the powervalves and bridged the exhaust port. I believe you can go wider on the exhaust port than the cylinder bore with a bridged exhaust port.
-
I don't really see how the port timing would be any different with a bigger bore, but you can definitly go wider on the exhaust port with a larger bore. banshee370, care to explain how the timing would be effected by a bigger bore? I probably just don't know enough about big bore sleeves to really know how they effect port timing. also, it is my understanding that if you had +4mm rods and you are running a piston where the wristpin is located 4mm lower than a regular banshee piston, the port timing would be the same as it would be with a stock rod and piston combo. I am no expert in this field either though, but I thought I'd throw in my two pennies.

Verrrry Intersting, was 9-11 a set up?
roosthrower replied to sweetshee4312's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Does anyone else think that humans have become too smart for their own good? Too much technology will be the end of the human race. That's all I have to say. Life now is much easier than it should be. There is no natural selection for us anymore. Technology sucks and so does the government although there is no doubt in my mind that the pentagon was hit by a plane. -
that sucks. all you can do now is tear it down and find out what happend. I'd say now would be a good time for a port job as well if you have the money.

So called Assult Weapon ban over!
roosthrower replied to rebelbanshee2's topic in General Banshee Discussion
the news wouldn't cover a story like that here. a gun that would have served a valuable purpose? they can't show that sorta stuff on the news. -
just out of curiosity, are 33mm pwk's bored out 28mm pwk's or are they a different carb? if they are different, where did you find them? thanks
-
so true its called MTV 2...only music Even mtv2 sucks. Everytime I check it out, they always have hip hop countdown on or some other gay crap. Fuse sucks as well. if them dumbass canadians kept their political opinions to themselves and played an actual rock song, it might be worth watching again. I only watch tv for sports and comedy central for laughs. That's all I need.

roosthrower replied to nickxc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
My personal opinion is that the owner of that site well... I think I remember him saying that he went up to 420 mains on stock carbs after he added a set of g3 reeds. -
I didn't even realize that they still played music on mtv.
