  1. HONDA 250X! It was the first quad i ever rode. I rode the snot out of it, my little brother rode the snot out of it, my little little brother rode the crap out of it....it taught my wife to ride, my little brothers wife to ride and my little little brothers wife to ride. It has been in the woods, on the track and at the dunes. It will go most places the shee goes just not as fast..... And I just through my leg over the same quad yesterday. It amazes me that it still runs strong as ever. Now with all that said, The Banshee has had the longest production life. That says something. RJV
  2. Im a little late but good choice. I run eights, enough traction with enough spin when i need it. You will be happy. RJV
  3. Happy Birthday Holy....hope you are doin well RJV
  4. Absolutely!! I get tired of the magazines saying how hard the banshee is to ride. When I was growing up, learning how to work the cluth and jam the shifter was what made the difference between a rider and great rider. The Banshee with someone who knows how to ride can still compete with any of the new bikes. (except on a mx track, I got to be realistic, the new breed owns the track) RJV
  5. Thanks guys....I'll post a pic when I decide what route to take. RJV
  6. Had a little mishap and destroyed the rear tail light on the last trip. I would rather replace it with something other than stock. Anyone run an LED light? If so, what brand, how much, how easy and can you post a pic? Thanks, any input will be appreciated. RJV
  7. Glad you made it with minimal damage. Those trees make a nice wind block if you have enough round your place and they are close enough together. And you are right............most of the looters were theives before, they just had to be sneaky bout it. Now they know the cops are busy, understaffed and overwhelmed and they have all the time in the world to take what they want and get away. Take care, our prayers are with you. RJV

    MX

Took a trip to the Madrass MX Park this weekend. Practiced on Friday and was feeling really good. Had a good line in the whoops and was making really good time. Came in out of the left hand corner and got just a little off my line, things were going well until bout the last ten feet. I remember starting to get bucked a little and hitting the ground. Happened so fast. It hurt so bad......typically I get up quickly get the bike and get off the track. Then I sit and try to catch my breath and make sure nothing is broke on me then the bike. But man, this time I went to stand up and my right leg said "what the hell you doin". Took me what seemed like forever to get myself together enough to get off the track. Rode the next couple practice motos but was real timid in the corners afraid I was going to fall on the right side again. Planned to go ahead a race on Saturday but when I woke up the next morning I was not blue, not black and blue, but black, my whole right thigh. I couldnt swing my leg over the bike let alone kick start the darn thing. I am doin better now but it was won of the worst "hurts" I have ever had riding (cept for a broken leg when I was in high school). Leaving the bike home and heading to the dunes on wed. Ride safe guys and watch the whoops, they always win at some point. RJV
  9. Happy Birthday to the both of you
  10. Man reading through some of those reminds me how bad a great trip can go if your bike takes dump or tosses you off. Sounds like everyone is ok though and gettin back in the saddle shortly. going again tuesday morning. I love having days off in the middle of the week. Thinking bout heading to Winchester, see if they are setting anything up for Dune Fest yet. I would love to go this weekend but it is going to be a mad house. Needed to make reservations last year at this time for this year. Got the 'shee all shined up looking pretty. Got a guy coming with an LRD outfitted Raptor. He's thinking he's gonna hand me my a$$ all day long. He's got another thing coming. The bike is new to him but I am good friends with the guy he bought it from. I know I can beat it...done it before....gonna do it again. Anyway, should be a good time, if I get any pictures that are worth anything I will post em up. RJV
  11. Or even this trio : except #5 doesn't care for the outdoors that much anymore.
  12. What about this dream team: Bob Hannah Jeff Stanton Damon Bradshaw There have been so many great riders over the years....fun to think about it. Here is one, A healthy Travis Pastrana A healthy Bubba A healthy Sebastian Tortelli
  13. AMA announced the MXDes Nations team today, RC, K Windham and Mike Brown. I think we are going to be back on top this year. All three of those guys have incredible heart and are riding at the top of their respective games. I didn't look at the points but I think Brown is still leading the 125/250F class on points though he hasn't won an overall for a couple weeks. DeCoster is team captain so I imagine the team will get really good support overall. Anyone got any personal "Dream Team" picks? Current or former riders? my team: RC RJ : Rick Johnson Jeff Ward Those three in their prime would have been tough to beat. RJV
  14. Yeah, well I just took all my stickers off, now it rips faster and jumps further 'cause there is less wind drag RJV
  15. If you want FI, trade the shee in on a new Raptor with the YFI. I bet yamaha did there homework on this bike and the few internet reviews I have read have all been really positive. (not that I would give up my shee for a raptor) RJV
  16. we had a great trip. three banshees in the group(minus 1 broke) two YFZs, two Raptors at varying stages of modification and one stock 400ex (ridden by a fearless woman who weighs in at about 105). I got to ride em all and I tell you, as nice and different at they are, every time I got back on my 'shee it just felt like home. then I get to talking bout mods and how much money we all had into our bikes and I thought wow, for less than half the money I am beating some and hanging with the other guys. I love my Banshee!! Florence has a bunch of hill climbs that drop down into the trees right next to the water line, they are a blast. Straight down, couple hard turns and straight up. Nothing comes out of those climbs like a banshee. My bike, with the relatively mild mods I have done, I start in second and grab third, It is just a rush to come wheeling out of the trees back into the sun at who knows what speeed, man I am ready to go again and I just got home I got a couple vid clips but can't get them to post, if I get it figured out I will set them up here cause this is where the thread is. Take care you all and keep the rubber side down, unless you are doing a back flip....... RJV
  17. Just got back from a couple days on the Oregon Dunes. Nothing like getting out and riding with a bunch of friends to remind me why I have the 'shee in the garage and not one of the new thumpers. Weather was spectacular and the sand was in excellent condition, smooth as glass, like water skiing on a lake and finding that glassy smooth cove, perfect. (But we had some wind to deal with, wich doesn't bother me too much). All but one of the bikes ran perfect and no one got hurt. My buddies she boiled over and was severly hot witin the first five min. of riding. Come to find out his last trip, the plug blew out from the top of the head. I have never heard of such a thing. He put it back in and the bike ran perfect. Wondering if there is a corallation to the overheating issue he is having now though. Anyone else been riding lately? Got any good "camp fire" race, ride or shop stories? RJV
  18. I have the Belkin as well. It works pretty good, the closer to the antenna it is the better. Spend a little more money though and get the most channels options you can. RJV
  19. Love mine, running, biking, lifting working its great. Been dropped and stepped on, seems to be tough as nails. No problems. If you got the money I would not think twice bout pickin one up. RJV
  20. If you have stock yfz or raptor tires you would be ok, but the stock banshee tires blow. The magazines give good reviews on the stock tires for both the other bikes and the raptor tires in particular for sand. just my 2 cents. RJV
  21. Look nice, post some good pics if you pick one up. RJV
  22. Good lookin Hauler. The wife and I are in the same boat. It is not huge but it is just the two of us for now with one on the way. It should suit our needs well. As to needing a bigger truck, I feel you dude..... RJV
  23. Right on. Sounds so simple don't it RJV
  24. My Faith is strong. I have never been afraid of research. The more research I do, the stronger my Faith becomes and the more confident I become that Jesus is the Christ. I have not replied here because my beliefs and the foundations of those beliefs are laid out in the first half of the Easter Thread. Though I have absolutely no problem with this topic and I think it makes for great conversation I feel it is doing more damage then good. In the Easter Thread are the keys to Salvation as quoted from the Bible. Though I feel they got overshadowed in the second half of the thread by bantering back and forth over matters that we as finite Humans can not fully understand. Also the bickering over Religion put a shadow on the whole thread. Religion is not Christianity. 04, your beliefs are founded on Christ. Holy has a different view. Counter points have been presented using the Bible. God will do the rest. What is certain, is that Jesus is the answer. We start there and grow from that point under God's divine leadership at the pace he has set for us. Salvation is available to all through Jesus. That has been my stance from the start. That is my stance in the end. RJV
  25. I grew up in a Baptist based Church. I now attend a non-denominational church called Grace Bible Fellowship. I am a Christian and don't buy into any one "religion". Religion is a man made institution and therfore flawed. RJV
