Here's how I do it. Back off the idle screws and make sure the carb tops are on tight. Open the thumb/twist throttle up and set the carb slides even with the top of each carb. I just stick my finger in and feel so each sides slide is open up even at the top of the carb. Usually the cutaway side of the carb slides are the easiest to feel. Tighten the adjuster screws. Double check to make sure the carbs still hit wide open throttle. Close the throttle now and turn in the idle screws till they snug up with the slides. Turn the idle screws in equal amounts until the idle is set where you like it and you're done.

Head shaved .080" Octane? Compression?
Machwon replied to 80overShee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It will need approx. 100-104 octane depending on how it was done, 50/50 prem. pump/race should be close. -
Were located about 30 min. NE of Lansing in Ovid. As for the topend question I would have to see the cylinders to give you a positive answer. I don't charge to mic them so let me know if interested.

Hey guys thanks for the good words here. In case you guys don't know I go by Machwon on a couple of the message boards. I was hoping you would put the smokes on a buddies trx520 nmotion R and ice cube yfz with your pump gas banshee, but I think they only went to West Michigan sand drags last weekend and skipped the dunes. I can't wait to see those videos.

case leak down issue not 1lb per min. at 1st
Machwon replied to mybanshees2fast4u's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Anything more than 1 lb in 6 minutes is unacceptable to me. You need to fix all the leaks, then I'd re-test again. Alot of times after you find one leak and fix it, retest and you'll find a new one some where else. -
PM or e-mail me at [email protected] with a price for the cub cylinder shipped to 48866.

Most of those cranks should have been gone by now. All cranks are pretty much made by the same people as I understand it. I've had three break for customers all of which had to be repaired. Most of them broke within 3-5 tanks of gas. Vito's will likely repair it for you if you have the receipt. But man that bad batch of cranks was well over 12-months ago. That's a long way out from a point of sale for a warranty. The problem was on the flywheel side, like a 1000 cranks were machined without a fillet on that side that caused a stress point so they snapped. I've had this issue with both stockers and 4 mills.

I think the problem is it's a Banshee. They typically won't adjust one link out of a chain. So, I typically put the chain together, and then roll it on tight with the wheels. Ride it very easy for a bit and it will stretch to the proper adjustment. After that you have the full threads to play with.

I tried to fix that shipping thing last night. I will ship them for like $8.5 any where in the 48. Let me know if intersted. Bob.

Cylinders/Head for sale...more to come
Machwon replied to dajogejr's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I would be interested in the cylinders, possible the crank if its still in good shape. If you can let me know the condition and what you would want for the crank too. Thanks -
Get a set of V-force reeds and send it to me for a reasaonably priced dune port. I'm probably only a 1/2 hour from swartz creek.

I have a 94 I'm just putting back together. It will have a totally new motor, trued and welded crank, case ported, fresh wiseco's .030 over, dune ported, cut head for pump gas (or race gas if you like) all new gaskets and seals. It also will have T-5 pipes, like new AC nerf bars w/heel guards, adjustable ricky stator and timing plate, TORS mod, K&N filter and a durablue +4 axle w/billet hubs. $2200

I'm located near Lansing and do porting, boring, machining for resonable prices. If interested you can e-mail me at [email protected] or call 517-388-3662.

I have some spare 42 and 48 pilots. e-mail me at [email protected] if interested.
-
I'd check with your builder as he's best to recommend a size. Other wise a 25cc dome would get you approx. 12.5:1 compression, close for pump gas. 21cc for race fuel.
-
I have some stock bore, stock ports, $275

I've run the 14/43 before and loved it with 22" paddles. Worked great for me, but only with the bigger tires. When you get more motor then just throw a 15 tooth on.
