  1. I don't think he is looking for travel, clearance will depend on the rear tire size.
  2. I'm in...
  3. Holy HUGE pictures Batman! Dipstick looks great - Gotta' love the Dune Devil billet. Not sure I dig the chain deal on the kick starter, but I hear that holyman's rebuild is the shit.
  4. I'm in, but hell why wait untill turkey day when Halloween is so much closer?
  5. I personally would not, but that is up to you. Or send them to me and I'll will have them "Powder-Chromed" a new type of powder coating process that I have become a dealer for. As shiny as chrome without the hydrogen embrittlement, plus the top coat is a Dupont eurethane powder clear (same composition BMW uses for clear-coating their cars) that can be wet sanded if it becomes dull. I'll post some pictures in the images section - take a look.
  6. I'll second that. I got it at an automotive paint supply place $10 for a quart - WAY easier / faster than sand blasting.
  7. That is correct, you can chrome the stock springs but it is not a good idea, hydrogen embrittlement is a huge factor in addition to the re-tempering of the spring wire all of which lead to a brittle spring and eventualy a failure.
  8. Quick tip guys, if you need to remove powder coating or paint from your parts get a quart of "Aircraft Stripper" mad by kleen strip. I had to remove the powder coating from the cluch side case cover and this stuff took it ALL off in about 15 minutes quick and easy.
  9. I'll second that! Awesome pipes...
  10. The chrome process uses electricity and harsh chemicals and heat is generated as a byproduct there of - all of theese things will damage the shaft seal, possibly releasing oil & nitrogen from inside the shock. Yes you can remove the spring from the shock body but I am not aware of anyone who services / rebuilds STOCK shocks. Just because you have seen them chrome doesn't mean they still work correctly. Now I have not personally tried to chrome a set of stock shocks, but I do have a good understanding of the chrome process and how a shock absorber is assembled and all the intricate pieces inside one. Just trying to save you guys some head ache's.
  11. If they are stock shocks they will be ruined if you have them chromed as they are not seviceable,. If they are aftermarket shocks they will have to be taken apart prior to chrome, then propperly re-assembled afterwards. Just some food for thought.
  12. Strong magnet? Super glue on a q-tip?
  13. I had heard they split, hope they continue to do well. My friend Kevin from Custom Creations ATV builds frames, a arms and swing arms for them on a regular bassis. Once the weather cools off (next season) we'll have to hook up at Glamis.
  14. What else is done to your bike? Got any pictures? Wicked / Atomic is pretty close to me, my friend builds their swing arms, a arms and frames. You go to Glamis?
  15. Glad I could bring a little ghetto entertainment to your day fellas'

  18. Excellent point, I could not agree more. I actually don't do much dragging, primarily ripping bowls and generally haulin' ass, my settings just promote a nimble handling bike with razor sharp response for quick turning / transitioning on the throttle or off.
  19. I personally like the durability idea of PC, but being able to touch up paint would be nice too, just depends on how much damage you plan on inflicting on the frame. The price jump seems WAY to high, have you checked with another coater? Sorry man no experience with painted frames (other than stock which is not that impressive).
  20. I just bought one off e-bay, gonna train him to walk on a leash and do tricks!
  21. Peep dis playa's http://www.playerappreciate.com/pimphandle.asp
  22. I got the picture Checkster posted above in an e-mail, and I think that if you look close that is 2 spiders connected. I think they would be good eatin'.
  23. Why not just get your existing one re-valved / re-sprung?
  24. Check out the american sand association's web site, they have al ink to legal info for silverlake. I would go with the sand stars over the geckos, hell I'd run dirt tires over geckos. http://www.asasand.com
