If your carb slide was closing properly, then there is virtually no way that the engine can over speed. Your carb slide is not closing properly. Take off your airbox or filter if you have a clamp on, so that you can see the slide and then do what is necessary to get it to close properly. You either have a cable problem, a bent needle not allowing the slide to drop down all the way or the cut out on the slide is not aligned with the tit in the carb bore. Even when it is aligned, sometime the slides don't want to fall fully into position. Take it out and try again.

Expect a noticeable improvement in off idle throttle response and probably no adverse affects ON A STOCK MOTOR. Don't run them with porting and definitely not with a stroker, they are too restricitive for these applications.

I got a set of boyeson rad valves with dual stage reeds and a set of stock a-arms and shocks (black) off of my 04' (like new) and stock carbs w/tors. You know you want those black LE arms and shocks, they'll look trick on your bike and you just plain need the other stuff. Is this turning your crank?

Mounted to the front frame rail with one screw on the left side, just behind the radiator and below the fuel tank is a tors module with a single connector. Disconnect that connector (if you haven't already) and try it.

A screwdriver works best in my opinion. Just gently scrape it off without gouging or scratching the aluminum. After scraping it gently and completely, clean it with carb cleaner.

I have a yellow top and a red top under the hood of my truck. I can crank the stereo with the truck not running for a good long time and if I do kill that yellow top, my red top is fresh to crank up the engine and then my 225amp wrangler alternator charges them both back up through 4/0 cable. You need a battery isolator, which is basically just a high current relay, to run the system off of one battery when the engine is not running, yet charge and run off of 2 batterys when the engine is running
