Sweet! looks like I better get to tuning on my heap.
-
You will run the raptor in the 450 4 stroke calss which pays back a lot of money, its the largest class. I think Kalen won like 90 bucks for first. I thought the BHQ ride was on the 24th of Sept????
-
Yeah, I doubt rick was to scared. He could have beaten anyone there by half track if he would have shown up. The Sept. event is on the 24th. There is another one Oct. 22 tho.
-
The clutch shitted out on my rig. The track was prolly 75% sand 25% dirt I would say. When the sun went down the track really started hookin up. Yes, I ran haulers. You prolly won't make it to the sept.event either.....BHQ ride ? Cairo showed up fri. nite for test and tune, but only brought his sons bike out. I asked him if he was gonna bring his drag bike out but he didn't seem to interested. I guess its not "Big Time" enough for him. Jeff doesn't seem to mind comin out and playing with the small town folk tho.

Buzz Fought held his first race in Farmington KS this weekend. The track had 200 ton of sand hauled in and put on it. Excellent track in my opinion, they groomed it as often as possible (about every 4 runs or so). My bike was down, so I borrowed a friends banshee who had a Passion dune port running on Pump Gas. Jeff from F.A.S.T. showed up with his Bad to the bone raptor. I don't know what he has done to that thing but it is crazy fast (for a raptor) he was smokin the shit out of yfz 450 and 450rs. I entered in the Banshee class and the open class. Well, I ended up winning the Banshee class. But the open class was a differnt story.. I ended up working my way into the final four, I won my first race against another banshee the first round of the final four. Then I ended up racing Jeff my second run. We both cut a good light, and had nice, clean, straight runs down the track. I was prolly my best run of the night, but I got beat by about 2 bike lengths. I had a great time, and will most certainly be back for the next event. Thanks for a great race Jeff, I had more fun on that pass than I had all night. 23champ

might as well go with a 10mill. cylinders don't cost anymore, and the crank is about the same price to. ...just a thought.

????????? Who's the jackass?

My brother picked up some chrome shearer inframes from passion for under $500. If you run shearers you can't run an airbox.
-
WOW, if RNBrad is right, it don't sound like you'll need much more than a high end Pioneer head unit! Them bitches must be efficient! Good Luck. I'd prolly throw anywhere from 800 to 1000 watts at em.

eehsnab2, whats up with the pipes? I,ve seen shearer pipes before and they don't seem to shine like yours, Did you have them chromed?

What numbers you puttin out?
-
The biggest hp numbers that I've seen come out of a cub are scottytohotty on PS @ 133 with a 10mm crank. I think Charlie Othton was gettin 146 out of his 10mm Cheetah. I'm thinking the extra intake area on the Cheetahs helps out quite a bit on the bigger stroker motors (10+mm). The intake on a Big cheetah accepts a CR250 intake where the cub uses the stock intake for a banshee. The CR intake is about twice the size.

Your engine does not fall off the pipe,I agree, but if the the ports were lowered slightly it would come on alittle sooner,( you might even be able to pull a taller gear) and while your on and off the throttle so much on a hill with jumps (like Deekens) your not using the motor to its fullest potential. You will never hit peak HP on a hill like that. if your motor is puttin out 90hp you are never using all of it. The most its gonna put out is around 80 at the most. On a hillclimb the motor has a pull on it consantly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your set up is bad. It looks like its works pretty good from where I'm sittin, but remmember, no matter how fast you are you can always go faster. Hell, Ive won hillclimbs before, but was still disappointed in my performance, because I knew I could have done better... then again there is no such thing as a perfect ride, but I sure as hell would like to get as close as possible to it as I can. By no means am I telling you to run out and have your cylinders decked, thats a lot of money to be fucin with, but I've seen bikes that go like hell at hillclimbs that have had the cylinder decked on.

nikisil cylinders are the only way to go in my OPINION. I've raced bikes all my life and had nothing but good luck with them, EVEN after some extreme melt downs. Hell, I just had one of my closest freinds throw a rod on his "built to the hilt" KTM 550 hillclimber putting out 90+hp. The rod let go at about a 9,000rpm free rev through the air. If the rod had not broke the lower skirt off the cylinder the bore would not have been hurt at all, and at 9000rpm I'm sure there was a lot of nasty shit happening inside that engine. the piston smacked the cases so hard it folded and twisted the piston skirts up,and broke peices off, but not even one mark on the bore itself. My brother owned this same bike a couple years back and had a piston break at the skirts on it, the bike kept running the rest of the season, he didn't even know there was a problem untill he tore it down to freshen it up, and again not a mark on the bore of the cylinder. He simply split the cases and dug all the broken peices of the piston out of the lower end , slid a new piston in and back to the races. This bike was, and still is a top 5 bike anywhere in the US. Every single motocross bike being sold since about 1988 has had a nikisil bore, 2 stroke or 4 stroke. I'm sure its better than a cast sleave otherwise Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and KTM would not be using them. A lot of people deck their cylinders, I don't think of it as "detuning" and engine. Its more like moving the power to fit your application. In all honesty (and I'm sure most of you have seen Locos hillclimb vids) I think Locos cubs would perform better on the hill if his cylinders were decked. I'm not saying it would be faster at a DRAG strip. But on the hill (I think) it would run better. It would be easier to keep it in the meat of the power band, and it would get there quicker. Thanks for reading folks...I'm out

more gear = more traction
-
Pods do make them run better but, they also don't filter the dirt out as well. The rear wheels throw dust and dirt directly at the filters. I just put a set on mine and with less than an hour riding time I pulled them off and saw some grit on my slides.

Loco, here are the directions for the ABATE drags Directions: From Main Street in Atchison. Take 17th Street North to Country Club Road, turn right on Country Club Road. Go about 1/2 mile till you get to an intersection. Turn left at the intersection, you will now be on K7 highway headed north out of town. Once you pass the city limits sign its about another mile or two I'm not sure what the name of the road its on ( I do know its the next right you can take after 298th Road) there will be signs leading you the way. Anyone and everyone is welcome!
