  1. 90 mil for the painting and he probably had it insured for 150 mil. I'm sure he didn't lose a penny on the deal.
  2. I've run 927 for years and have had ZERO problems. But like was stated earlier. It will seperate. When the temps start getting around 40 degrees. Make sure you shake your gas can. I always turn the fuel off and drain the carbs. IT will leave a gooey mess in them if you don't and the temps turn cold.
  3. Dial-a-jet is definately the way to go. I already had a mess of jets, so I just did it the hard way.
  4. I ran 17cc domes in my coolhead and seemed to work fine. Jetting seemed more sensitive to me. The shee burned about 1/4 to 1/3 more fuel on alcohol. As far as purging, I made a small aluminum tank that sat on the frame rails and held one quart. I'd fill it and run it dry. That seemed to purge everything fine. You'll be amazed how fast you burn up a quart of fuel.
  5. Did you ever get around to checking your reeds as suggested earlier? I was running the same V-forces in my 330R. It went from running great to not wanting to start unless I pulled it, then it would only idle. One of the reeds had come loose and was laying in the intake tract. After doing some checking, I found this was common problem. I replaced them w/the newer V-foreces and have had no problems.
  6. The switch is fairly simple. Basically just carbs. Possilby a Pingel or some other type of high flow petcock. Warm up time will be longer and your engine should run considerably cooler. Just remember to purge your engine if its going to sit for a while. The alcohol is hard on seals.
  7. We used to go all the time(80's). My buddy's uncle was head of security for the race. We'd go up to Devils Playground. But beware, its about 11,000-12,000ft. You get pretty light headed real quick if your packing coolers around. From there you can see a bunch of the lower course. Theres also a couple of pretty low speed corners right there. If you go once, you'll be hooked. Its a Blast
  8. As far as the preddy 50 goes, I haven't had 1 problem. I'll will say the etons are an awesome quad, and wouldn't be afraid to own one. Alot of the smaller companies are really targeting the smaller kids. Yamoto and a bunch of others have come out w/dual a-arm set-ups, rear discs etc.
  9. My youngest wil be 4 in July. I just picked up a Predator 50 for him. Hes doing great on it, I ride with him all the time. I keep myself between him and the fence at all times. Start'em young. Let them progress at thier rate. my$.02
  10. Thanks for the info. Thats what I was hoping for. How much did you take off the shock? Thanks
  11. Ya, probably not, but I was hoping to do the grinding to the shock, not the frame. Thanks
  12. Guys: I'l start by saying I searched and read what I could find on this conversion. My question is. I really don't want to grind the upper shock mounts on my PC'd frame. Has anyone ground a little material off the top of the shock body to get the necessary clearance? Thanks
  13. Same bodies, just rebadged. Satelites don't bring near the money a RR will.
  14. Thanks, but w/the yellow pc'd frame, I'm not sure how the silver would look.
  15. We've finally decided to make the shee look as good as it runs, looking for some white fullbores for it. Used is ok as long as their not to tore up.
  16. We've got an older hi jumper w/a 1835, irs, aluminum beam front end. Runs great, not the prettiest out there, but definately reliable. Email me at sandjcky1@aol.com and I can send some pics. It also comes w/a t trailer. asking $2300
  17. I've checked into it w/forward air. They said no more that $400 in the lower 48 and they provided the plastic crate. They told me it would have to be shipped w/the fluids drained and the tires off, but the tires were suppose to fit in the crate.
  18. So I guess nobody goes to Cali if there home state does not require an endorsement? Coaches a real a big gray area. I still stand by my source from DMV and the fact that if Cali could generate monies from it they would be pulling over Large RV's, as they would be an easy mark. Sounds like like more BS from the CHP to me. I know to many CHP officers that will tell you they'd ticket RV owners or pull them over at the drop of a hat if they had a leg to stand on. Becuase they are such easy marks, most of them are from out of the area or state and they won't contest tickets, so they'd just pay them. This would be easy money and a sure way to meet the average. When you start talking DOT, your back to commercial vehicles again. Thats what they were implemented to regulate and still are. When was the last time a DOT checkpoint pulled over a car, pickup or motorcycle? As the ever elusive Boonman once told me, SCHOOL IS OUT
  19. AAAHHH, you guys are all spoiled. Compared to sand mountain, glamis, buttercup and dumont. It looks real small. But compared to Little Sahara it looks pretty good. If I still lived in Norcal, I'd definately check it out.
  20. After my battery died in my laptop last night, I made a call to a buddy that is the supervisor at a Norcal DMV. He stated "there is no law in place to regulate RV's in reguards to weight and having to have a Class A or CDL." He put it like this. If the state of California thought it would generate more revenue than it would cost the state, they'd figure out a way to do it. He also stated that if this was a viable source of revenue, they would have RV's stopping at truck scales to be weighed and check for the proper endorsment. He did bring up one good point in monkeyboys defense, in reguards to obeying laws written in another state(that are not applicable in your home state.) If i Was to take a 4 month vacation and travel the lower 48 states on my motorcycle, I would need to carry my helmet for those states that require it. He did say that trailer registration was not required if your trailer is not regristered in your home state. He did advise to carry any documentation you have for the trailer. MSO etc. Hope this clears some questions up.
  21. Go for it, and while your at it, ask them how many coaches are sold each year w/air brakes and how many of the operators have the endorsement. In the 14 years I live in Cali, I was never questioned about my operating a vehicle w/air brakes and no endorsement on my license.
  22. If it generated cash for them, they'd want to keep it open. Maybe they should change the name to Casino Mountain. Seems like no ground is sacred here in Oklahoma if its eligble for a Casino.
  23. Well put. In Oklahoma, we don't title/register out trailers(24' enclosed). I've spent as much time in other states w/the trailer as I have here. I've never been hassled or stopped because of this. Cali included. Theres thousands of folks w/5th wheel trailers in Ca. I will guarantee 99.9% have nothing more than their standard issue license. So by monkeyboys logic, would my 40' Beaver Marquis motor home, which weighs in excess of 40,000lbs wet, w/air brakes. Would require me to have a CDL. That doesn't happen either. The "C" CDL stands for Commercial. Which means interstate transport of goods/merchandise for resale/sale. Bottom line is you don't need a CDL to pull a 5th wheel camp type trailer.
