I think the whole "Stacking Naked Iraqis" scandal is total BS. The blindfolded with electrodes and told if he steps off the box he's going to get electricuted is harsh, but getting fragged by a road side bomb I'm sure sucks even worse! If you really think about it in comparison to the way prisoners were treated under Sadam's regeim, or the way the treatment the American contractors got treated in Fallujah (beaten to death, then burned, then mutilated and finally hung from a bridge in front of the cameras and media), Jessica Lynches treatment after being captured, or last but not least the treatment even you or I might get at the county jail should we end up there for a week or 2. I know Bimota tried to develop a system for a 500cc V-4 GP street bike called the V-doo in the late 90's. It would inject at a specific time right into the cylinder like when the piston was near the bottom of its travel so that almost no unburnt fuel would get pushed into the exhaust or something like that. It was a big complicated fuel map and they never could work all the bugs out of it other than it ran great at WOT like a 2 stroke should. Unfortunately with all it's low rpm injection bugs it made for an unfriendly grocery getter with a huge price tag so it never caught on. From a rolling start it would put a R-6 to shame.

I got a ticket one time when I was 17 (I'll try to make a long story short) when a sheriff (which don't normally give traffic tickets) was riding my ass and like right on my bumper at night (10:30pm) with her lights on bright. They came up behind me like a bat outta hell. I went about a miles like that going really slow so they could pass me and when they didn't I thought it was someone wanting to fight. So then I friggin hit the gas on the ol' 67 mustang and left that sheriff in the dust. I literally walked off and left them behind big time. I figured I only had 2 miles to get to my house so I might as well get there way out in front so I can get inside and call cops, get a shotgun, ect ect whatever. After at least 1 mile of eating my dust the sheriff Nazi bitch finally turned on her lights. I was thinking WTF is this BS! The lady cop had what I assume was her training partner with her. She was a straight bitch and basically wanted to bitch me out and didn't want any reply from me. I was as humble as pie and they let me go with an 85 in a 55 ticket which is a 2 point ticket like wreckless driving and I think can result in a temporary liscense suspension. 85mph is the fastest they could get their POS going. They said they were doing 85 and couldn't catch up. I was really doing like 110mph Anyway, theres a couple more details but the bottom line is that they didn't go to court to contest the ticket so I got off.

I work in highway construction and set up many legal temporary road restrictions and detours, and if it is not 100% understandable to the average motorist then it is not enforceable. Basically the way I see it is that every driveway like the one where you came out of should have had a temporary regulatory sign (white with black lettering) saying no right, or left turn so you would have to go the other direction and wouldn't end up in the situation where you come up againts a dead end, and even worse, only your lane/direction of travel comes to a dead end causing you to have to do an illegal manuver to avoid another illegal manuver. That is the point I would argue with the judge, its kind of like entrapment in that respect. If you can go take pictures of the traffic signs and layout (and/or if you already have) take more picture if they change signing so traffic can understand what they are suposed to do. Changes would be like an admission of guilt that the signage was set up wrong or inadequate in the first place. And do make a poaster board or nice graphical representation of the street layout and ALL construction signage. I would also say to the judge that you generally assume that the people in front of you are law obiding citizens that are trying to comply with the law so you didn't realize untill it was too late that the lane was closed and that you followed traffic around the baracade. Furthermore if you had realized that they were making a mistake then you wouldn't have followed. Therefore the "so if your friends jumped off the bridge, then would you?" argument is shot down. I think you have this one beat hands down.

Yeah I broke the very first zirk that I tried to grease off the banshee. My problem wasn't a clogged zirk though, they shouldn't get clogged; the spring loaded valve seals it off. Just wipe the zirk with a rag before you put the grease hose on the zirk. My problem was that I just pumped a little too much grease into the bearing. The air will excape around the seal but not the grease and when you presurize the grease gun hose too much and no more grease will go into the bearing it becomes stuck. I just wiggle it around to break the grease gun tip's seal on the zirk, a little grease comes out releaving the pressure and it comes right off. You have to be patient when pulling the gun tip off and also not over do it when pumping in the grease. Similar to satisfiying your woman rather than a self satisfying quicky.

Well I spoke too soon. The price went up $0.10 this morning. Maybe CA jumps the price up and when everyone else hikes the price a little to match, CA adds another $0.10 to stay out in front. I saw a 76 station selling 87 at $2.29 per gal.

The only theory I've heard on a gas strike that might work is for everyone to boycot one particular gas company (say chevron) untill their gas price goes down. I've seen groups try it before but it doesn't work unless everyone is on board with the plan. Even then I doubt that would work because all the gas compamies are interconnected. I talked with the manager of a no name brand gas station in Nor CAl and he said that the gas he recieved gas at his station came from 3 companies (chevron, shell and someone else) and that they didn't choose which one delived gas to them, it alternated between the 3 companies by their determination. Also there is a patrolium pipeline that comes from the bay area refineries north to Chico and all three companies share the pipeline.

The cheapest place in town is at $2.09 for 87 octane unleaded in northern CA right now, some places with higher prices are around $2.23. Suposdly we pay an average of an extra $0.40 per gal over the national average; $0.08 more for our BS eco-friendly gas formula, $0.12 more for CA higher state gas tax and $0.20 more for the gas manufacturers so called low refinery capacity supply vs demand issues (aka price gouging) And I thought most of the southern west coast fuel was made in CA. The diesel price fluctuates real wacky here too. It shot up to $2.19 the other day for what reason ??? Theres talk in CA about making all desel motors retrofit with filters on the exhaust to contain all the soot in the diesel smoke. If that happens I beg the rest of the nation to just kick CA out of the United States, put down this lame hoarse, and let it go down in flames on its own so we dont drag the rest of this good nation down.

I'd say that's a very accurate account. With Gnarlies going up a very steep and long hill, stock gearing, I could only pull 4th and the YZF could pull 5th so they would slowly but steadily walk off and leave me towards the top. And then theres the business owners, they got it even worse. My dad sold his business this year because he could no longer perform the physical labor it required after getting a fake hip and ankel due to years of hard work and couldn't afford to pay 3 workers to take his place. He paid between 40 to 50% to the State and IRS of his "Capital Gains" from selling his business to the tune of $500K when it was more like his "Retirement Fund" that took him 40 years to build. All those taxes even though $250K of the remaining $500K went to pay off business debts.

The R in BR8ES is for resistor which makes the plug create less EM interference for radio/TV signals. They run the same, those are the stock recommended plug. The two oil ratios really aren't all that different. I believe the 927 has a little higher film strength, (sticks to stuff better). Some other Oils like amsol are formulated even more concentrated to mix at even higher ratios but when it goes through the motor it produces more or less the same lubricating effect, same amount of oil film remaining on cylinder walls, bearings ect.

A foam filter with no oil will flow more air than an oiled filter even lightly oiled, thats why you are rich (or were rich, you probably got it fixed by now).

Adding a K&N W/O pipes is kinda trickey. K&N tipically adds 4 main sizes and 3 more for no snorkel and lid. However the stock pipes wont flow that much more so +4 sizes is probably right. Thow in a new set of plugs and make sure the electrode insulator gets a little brown after you ride it a while so you know its not running too lean (if it stays real white and runs with hesitations yet revs up and has little power your lean) (dark plugs and bogs your rich) You may need to turn your air screws in to richen it up a bit if it has lean symptoms at idle from the added air flow. Stock pilot should work fine.

My mom lives on the big Island in Hawaii, Kona side. I've met a few people that have kayaked about 3/4 of the way around the island and said it was a blast. Not for me, but you might want to put that on your to do list one day. Get about 4 to 6 guys and one of those big Kayaks or canoes with the big outrigger. You must be pretty skilled, I've heard of boats getting lost and/or running out of fuel and ending up adrift in the ocean for days on that same trip.
