If your looking at the holeshots or Razrs get the HD's or Razr 2's because they are 6 ply tires. Or if you get a similar tire the 6 ply tires will last longer, but they cost more. Some of the early year banshees had different hubs/ bolt pattern on the rims.

The 28mm round slide should not be all that different as far as jet size compared to stock. My 34mm flat slides came with around #60 pilots and a #35 pilot is what is worked for me. The needle was also way to rich the way the carb came. However the main that came in the carb was very close. 290 may be pretty close for you. Your bog might also be somewhat from the needle.

I've let only a couple other freinds that have quads/bikes. Its funny though, guys with mainly 4 stroke experience really have no idea of what to expect and usually cant shift, or otherwise ride it worth a shit. When there trying to accelerate its like Waaaaa.... pause Waaaaa.... pause Waaaaaa... pause Waaaaaa.

The bearings are being broke in during the first few hours of use and need to be tightened after they are broke in. What you had was pretty typical for a shee, you probably shouldn't need to tighten it again for a while but keep an eye on it.

Spring Break & Girls Gone Wild Real? When And Wher
Ducman replied to German Shepherd's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I went to college in Chico CA and there were some pretty cool bars/clubs. I went on my honeymoon to Cancun Mexico for 10 days and it was way wilder than Chico bars. I would have to disagree with sluts are the same here VS there. From what I could tell, 90% of the gils that go to Cancun turn into sluts there. I doubt they were as slutty there as back home, and they must have a few more $ from daddy than most that you run into at the local bar. The bar sceen was actully wilder that what they can show on MTV from what I saw. At times I actually felt old at the bars at age 25, I know that some of the kids in there drinking had to be as young as 16, but mostly 18 and older. The all inclusive hotel I stayed at was only for 17yrs and older so there was lots of boobs and thongs to look at in the pool bar and the beach. The hotel had lots of fun free activities, windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling, drinking, ect. I had a hell of a good time there and I was married. Public transpo will get you anywhere you want to go. Dont ever offer more than $5 for anything you want to buy because its all junk, they would rather accept american $ over pesos so don't bother exchaging $ other than for buss fare, and barter for everthing. If you walk into any tourist type shop don't believe the price listed, thats for the suckers. If they aren't following you down the sidewalk and accept your final offer for the item you wanted you paid too much. -
What?!! You mean leather isn't made by Nike? Well at least you know that the lil' pasty white enemic vegan raised PETA child wont be picking on your kid in school.

While your on the subject, does anyone know if there is any interference between a pingel and Rockets? Stock is pretty tight, just made me wonder. I myself would probably go with the pingle, fuel supply can be an issue (bowles running very low on fuel) with a fairly modded she and certain carbs when going WOT for a long ass time. I have had some half way running out of fuel in the carbs situations on a long hill climbs when the tank is getting low. Not sure if the pingel would have solved the problem but would probably help.

You should be able to get them close enough by rotating the hub to a different position on the splines. I rode with my sand stars as uneven as it can be for quite a while and it created a lot of vibration at very slow 1rst gear speeds on a hard surface like pavement, but didn't noticeably affect performance in the sand in any way. I just rotated them to cut down the side to side vibration at slow speeds.

I'm looking into buying a +4 swingarm and I am torn over weither to spend the extra $ and get a swingarm that comes with the honda round style axel carrier or one that bolts up to the stock one. I'm leaning towards stock because I can get a nice powder coated black aftermarket arm and just keep the stock axel and stock black carrier, throw in some fresh berrings and grease and call it good for about $275 with shipping and bearings. I want to stay all black to keep the black on black 04' LTD banshee look other than the chrome pipes. Or, I was also considering something like the +4 swinger from Mod Quad with carrier for about $725 shipped. Other than making chain tentioning very easy with the round style housing are there other advantages to the round style housing like low or no bearing maintenance? What about a honda type round housing VS an aftermarket stock style housing, which could be added later and still save a lot of $ over the round style and swingarm. I know you can usually get the option of tapered or sealed bearings and I know what that means, but I dont really know what the advantage/benefits are. Basically I just do recreational riding, mostly sand, and just want something that will work. I dont mind the extra work involved in tensioning the stock type carrier or a little maintenance. Although, if there is a lot of maintenance or headache to save myself down the road I might consider spending more. What would you + swingarms sand guys reccomend in my case and why?

Yeah, I have a new baby girl due in 1 month and I have to clean up the F's and S's in my language pretty soon!

I would start with the same main and needle position as used on the 35's. I dont know if the 2 carbs have an interchangeable needle jet orafice (dump tube) but you want to make sure you are in the right range on the needle jet orafice or you wont be able to tune the needle enough to make it run right with changing the clip position.

The Bottle of Merlot A man entered his favorite restaurant and sat at his regular table. After looking around, he noticed a gorgeous woman sitting at a table nearby all alone. He motioned the waiter over and asked him to send their most expensive bottle of Merlot over to the woman, knowing that if she accepted the bottle, she would be his. The waiter took the Merlot to the woman and said, "This is from the gentleman seated over there," indicating the sender. She regarded the wine coolly for a second, not looking at the man, And decided to send a reply note to the man. The waiter, who was lingering for a response, took the note from her and conveyed it to the gentleman. The note read: "For me to accept this bottle, you need to have a Mercedes in your garage, a million dollars in the bank, and 7 inches in your pants." After reading the note, the man decided to compose one of his own in return He folded the note, handed it to the waiter and instructed him to return this to the woman. It read: "For your information, I have a Ferrari Maranello, a BMW Z8, a Mercedes CL600 and a Porsche Turbo in my garage. There is over twenty million dollars in my bank account. But, not even for a woman as beautiful as you would I cut three inches off. Just send the bottle back, Bitch." Heartwarming Story of Construction Workers Here's a heartwarming story about the bond formed between a little girl and some construction workers. This will make you believe that we CAN make a difference when we give a child the gift of your time... A young family moved into a house next door to a vacant lot. One day, a construction crew came in and began building a house on the empty lot. The family's 5-year-old daughter became interested in all the activity and spent much of each day observing the workers. Eventually, the construction crew more or less adopted her as a project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they took coffee and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important. At the end of the first week, the men presented her with a pay envelope which contained $2.00. The little girl took this home to her mother, who said all the appropriate words of admiration, and suggested that they take the money she received to the bank to start a savings account. When they talked to the bank teller, she was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had earned her very own pay check at such a young age. The child proudly replied, "I worked last week with the crew building the house next door to us." "My goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be working on the house again this week, too?" The little girl replied, "I will if those assholes at Home Depot ever deliver the fuckin' sheet rock..." Kinda brings a tear to the eye......

If your shee is jetted correctly, not too lean or rich, the plugs will last longer. Mine jetting is dialed and it seams that the plugs start to degrade, build up resistance, basically look good but start not running clean anymore at about 40 hrs or less. Thats about 40+ gallons of fuel, quite a bit of riding. Others claim that a set of plugs will last them a whole season of riding, but I haven't heard anyone that said that pin down exactly how many hours that is. I'm with RNBRAD, I think its better to change the plugs before you can actually tell they are going bad. I'm probably going to change mine every 10 - 20 hrs from here on out. I also think that a stock motor isn't as hard on plugs, I can't tell you why, just that seemed to be my experience.

whats the best cooent to use in the shee

Engine Ice here, and it completely solved my overheating issues. Just one thing to consider, it only protects against freezing down to 25 deg F if I remember correctly. It is simply propaline glycol and water. I don't think that very many fluids have better cooling properties than just straight water, the difference is that once water gets to its boiling temp it does just that, boils over. Basically the antifreeze part of the water is just to keep the water from boiling over and freezing. I think some of the radiator coolant like engine ice trade some of the anti freezing qualities for better overheating and heat transfer characteristics. I think that argueing between Red Line Water Wetter and Engine Ice is like arguing that you get more or less HP from BR8ES and B8ES. They are probably almost the same shit, one just already has the water added and different dye. -
I'm sure that there are many engine builders out there, probably most of them, that have a spare set of cylinders lying around and would ship them to you. I'll just throw out a couple names that come up regularly on the HQ: PassionRE (an active HQ member, you can PM him with that screen name), Eric Gore, Patriot Racing, A&S Racing, grand river racing http://www.passionracingengines.com http://www.grandriverracing.com http://www.patriotracing.net http://www.bansheeracing.com/ Or like you mentioned, there are surely members on the HQ that have a set of ported cylinders lying around for sale. Check in the for sale section, there may be some in there right now.

The quickest cheapest mod (basically free except for buying 2 new main jets) I can think of would be to cut the back 2 inches (50mm) off the air box lid to alow for better air flow. You want to keep the back 2 clips on the lid so that the lid can still be securred with all 4 clips. You should go up to about a 220 to 230 main and turn the air screws in 1/2 to 1 turns to richen up the idle if needed. An aftermarket adapter plate with clamp on filter is better, then you can remove the air box lid completely, and the stock filter has a somewhat unreliable seal against the front of the airbox. I used to use grease on the front ring of the filter for a little extra insurance that it would make a better seal and wouldn't suck any dirt around the front of the filter.. Another free mod is to modify the stock timing plate to get +3 timing advance. If you do a search on "timing plate mod" you will find detailed instructions on how to do this. It is also 100% free if you have the tools available to remove the flywheel and grind or file the timing plate mounting holes.

Dito on the above. They typically come about .030 so you can use them right out of the box, but you should still check.
-
They should have the mains, which are the same as stock banshee carbs: small hex mains. A lot of dealers will cary the pilots (long style no like stock shee carbs), I dont know how many will cary the dump tubes (needle jet orafice) also different than stock. You can get them online from sudco.com or proflow.com

I take it back. My BR8EIX wore out this weekend after about 45 hrs. Still looked fine, just quit running good on the top end. Still outlasted reg plugs, but not enough to make it worth it. Guess I'll just go back to useing the good ol' BR8ES.

What do you think of my combo idea?
Ducman replied to Killdmycobra's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Sounds like a good mod list. I'd probably go no further than 20cc domes and +4 timing on the stock crack and run the 100LL. Or go with 21cc domes and +4 on pump gas. The stock crank is kind of a craps shoot on how much it will take and for how long with out welding, the higher the compression the higher the odds of separating/twisting. The only thing I read in your post that may need clarification is that if you run an aftermarket CDI, most will advance your timing around +3 so you dont want to add very much more timing than that. CDI just plugs in; 5 min install which is convienient. Probably just get the rickey stator timing plate for $35, its more ecomical. I'd also add lighten flywheel to your list, might as well get it done while its off to install the timing plate. -
Unless you are thinking of mix matching brands which usually doesn't work, your only choises are powercore and trbinecore. If you dont need a spark arestor go with powercore if you do get the turbinecore. There isn't a whole lot of performance difference between the 2 just price, turbine core costs more.

#30 pilots, air screws 2 turn out, needle middle clip, 300 mains for K&N with lid off, 280 for K&N with lid on (snorkel removed). Add 1 main size if it gets below 55 deg add another if below 30 ect. ect., subtract 1 if over 90.

I've run them in OR, but I haven't seen any others yet. They are very similar to CPI's.
