  1. I agre with shaft, anyways your on a she, just let them go ahead, you can catch them
  2. I try to stick to every 3-4k miles. i figure it's kind of like dialysis for the engine. Keep that crud out of there and it will last longer. Cheep maintance since i do it myself.....
  3. Sweet looking 10/22. I love the look, but I don't really care for the wood stock. all of my rifles with the exception of my 7MM have synthetic stocks. It's not that I beat my guns up, but I use them, and they end up getting scratched all to shit. I'm thinking about getting one of the new .17 HMR rifles, just not sure which manufacturer yet..........Any input??
  4. I agree with you guys about budgetting. My wife and I give ourselves an allowance of $40 a week from our regular pay, but if we get overtime, that goes in the play fund, wether a camping trip or parts for the bike. i broke my elbow a few years back, and invested the settlement money in 2nd mortgages earning 12-14%. Beats the stock market, and is secured by someones property. the only bad things about mutual funds is you usually have to invest for 10-15 years to get that kind of an average return, Atleast from my experience.........
  5. I could be wrong, but I think that's his wife. Yup, that's my gal. Now I just need it to warm up and she promised me a few on the shee.
  6. So now, someone just needs to figure out how we can make the banshe engine go in reverse, then we the shee would be back on top on the sand pile again since that's all it's lacking. Awesome sled. We don't get enough snow around here , so we just go to the lodges and rent them, beats having them sit 90% of the time..
  7. I'm actually running the stock heal guards, that have been trimmed of the plastic mounting ears and then powdercoated. Yes my rear fenders were shaved to get rid of the holes towards the bottom were the plastic portion of the heal guards mounted
  8. I have to agree that hungting is just a broad term that covers many aspects of marksmanship, stalking, tracking, and ultimately shooting your target wether a sage rat, a prairie dog, or an elk or deer. Just like when someones says I'm going riding, it could mean on a quad, a dirt bike, or sandrail. I am all for people hunting or exterminating these varmints. If you ever saw what kind of damage these little critters could cause, you would be amazed. There are several ranches that we regularly help to control the population of these pests, and that's exactly what they are, but rather than swat them with a fly swatter, we just use bullets. Prairie dogs, sage rats, digger squirels, what ever they call them in your part of the country have an amazing reproduction rate, something like every 30-40 days with a litter of 4-10(don't quote me, I'm not a biologist) For the varmint enthusiasts. I use anthing from a ruger 10-22 with a bull barrell, synthetic stock, and a 3x9 scope, a .17 remington with 25 grain hollow points moving close to 4400 fps, or my 7MM w/ 150 grain nosler ballistic tips for those long range varmints. Something to think about: Isn't the guy that rides out of bounds, and destroys public lands still considered a rider. What about the guy who shoots holes in signs, and poaches game illegally. It's usually the few that ruin it for the many, and establish the mindset for the rest.......... just my .02
  9. that's why I prefer UPP's chain slider. It is already split so you don't have to dismanlte your bike to replace your old one, or loose the warranty from modifying it...
  10. thanks for the info
  11. anyone have any recommendations between the 2 campgrounds??? sandhills, or desert oasis
  12. Riding is My Adrenaline Rush in Life. I don't do drugs, or even drink for that matter, But riding is my high. Just something about climbing a big dune, and easing on the throttle until the front end is just being carried over the dunes, knowing that you are on the ragged edge of flipping or conquering the dune..................
  13. yes they will, but you have to do a little grinding
  14. we did this to several of the firealarms on the exit hallways, that way when one went off, they all were triggered when everyone started evacuating, and they couldn't figure out what the hell happened. The Auto shop guys pulled the engine out of the Counselors pickup, put it in the back, then sank his truck in the pond.
  15. I've had mine ceramic Coated for over a year, and I haven't noticed any problems with them holding any heat. Actually everything I have read says that it will help dissipate more heat. I got mine done here in Oregon for $150 a side
  16. I'd put up a Ben Franklin with you on a shee vs Me on my grizz just booney crashing through the woods, and let's see who makes it to the top first. They both have their areas where they excel.
  17. It's definitely worth it. I love going there in the winter because the dunes are even steeper then in the summer
  18. well I absolutely love my '04 660 Grizzly. There aren't many places that I wouldn't consider taking it except maybe a holeshot with no room to get some speed up. Hell for those of you that are familiar with Winchester Bay, I've taken it up banshee hill a couple of times. Not too bad for weighing in at almost 1 grand with armor, tires, and my ass on it.
  19. I just might do that, it's supposed to rain in Portland all weekend (if you can believe that) normally when it pours here its nice in Coos We will be camping in either spaces 45-53 or 55-63. I have a burgundy dodge 4X4 with a 33' tahoe toy Hauler
  20. If you do a search, I posted some pics of how much grinding you had to do to make the shocks fit. mostly just start grinding, and just keep trying them until they fit. Dfinitely a major improvement.
  21. A few of my friends and I will be at horsefalls this weekend, come on over and release some tension. 110 octane for the shee to release her tension, then when I am done riding some 70 proof for me to release mine..LOL
  22. I use 2 qts of Bel-ray 85 wt Gear Oil
  23. Thanks for the input Thinking about heading there in the midle of June
  24. Ya if 2800 is all ya got, I almost guarantee that if you go down there and start waving green 100's in his face he will probably cave. Not always but usually when a seller sees cash and you are close they will usually deal
