As a minimum I would pull both the carbs off and clean em up really well with some carb cleaner. Either your pilot jet is plugged or your running lean. You need to check and see what size jets are in there regardless. He may have it jetted for summer which means running it now will make you lean.

Cromoly is considerably stronger than mild steel. You can either run thinner metal and retain the same strength as a mild steel arm or run the same thickness/weight and have a lot stronger arm.

Thank you, thank you.

I've got a Traxxus Rustler 2.5. Same engine as the Tmaxx but the car is about 1/3 the weight. Its not perfect...had to move the batteries up to the front bumper cuz I couldn't stop doing wheelies. Its friggin fast tho, I think stock it does over 50 mph. I run paddle tires on it and take it with me to the dunes when I remember.

I don't think you should send the pegs back until after you get your money. There's 2 people involved in this transaction, and only one can be accused of dishonesty. Nick your track record thus far says that you can't be trusted so therefore I think its your responcibility to get the money back to him as of yesterday. Since there's no evidence that 01 has been dishonest up to this point I'd say you'll just have to trust him.

Check out Haulmark trailers. I got a lightweight 7x14 dual axle enclosed that only weighs 1400 lbs empty. I think the model is the transport dlx. and I paid $3500 for it new in California. Sorry but its not for sale. Here's a pic of it out in Glamis behind my V6 Sexterra:

Uh ya do the filter first. The stock setup is notorious for leaking.

Best place to powdercoat your frame?

I never found one. But their number is 714-596-4242 -
Sorry Lead, I'm the only person that I know of on the HQ that has one of the Barnett baskets and I just put mine in. The construction seems top-notch so unless those stainless rivets work themselves loose I'd imagine that thing is gonna work great! Here's a LINK for those that haven't seen em. They're pretty big in the Ducati world so I'd imagine that there won't be any surprises.

I checked with Primo today in huntington beach...$200 - $250 for candy blue and no prep work on the frame. -
The stock ones develope play fairly quickly unfortunately. You could live with it for awhile but its time to step up to an aftermarket basket as soon as money permits.

Hey Rod...swing by Huntington Beach and pick my shizzle up. I'm too lazy to make that 4.5 hour drive again.

Could be you're only running on one cylinder too. You're gonna need a compression tester no matter what so you might as well buy one now.

Ya you could, but you're not gonna be able to make the ride there and back on one tank. Even if you brought 3 gallons along on your back you'd still have to ride pretty tame. What's the point of riding all that way to meet the HQ guys if you can't even get to go riding with them? For reference I can make it from the Pad 1 area to China wall, ride the hill about 15 times and make it back to camp almost on reserve. That's only if I follow gecko rd. down to roadrunner. If I go straight there and back through the dunes I can ride the hill probably 5 times and I MIGHT make it back. Olgilby tends to be less crowded than the Gecko/wash area but I think the crowds are pretty fun on the big weekends. Trust me you really don't want to go out on Prez. weekend and not even go see the gecko sand drags. Not only that but Oldsmobile hill will be going off till about 4am. Olds is 2 miles from Pad 2. Lately at night, the rangers have been chasing out the a'holes at olds as soon as they start getting rowdy. So all the riders just go to the top of the hill and wait an hour for them to clear everyone out, after that you ride down and pick one of the 30 or so fires left behind. If you're worried that its gonna be too crazy on gecko or the washes, camp where we camp out in the sand off the highway. We've got little kids in the camp so we generally keep it pretty mellow. If we wanna get loud we'll go join the HQ'ers at the pads. When we get tired, its back to our semi-quiet camp for some sleep.

I'll be camping in the dunes near the 78/gecko rd. Stop on by the yellow xterra with the white enclosed trailer.
-
Hey holyman...maybe Lee can help you change your name to 'Holier than thou'

I'll be in Glamis this weekend from Friday around 2-3pm till Monday morning. Camping out in the sand 300 yards out from sweet maries (78/gecko rd intersection). Yellow xterra with a white haulmark enclosed trailer. Stop on by if you're in the area.

Have you ever met a lesbian? Have you ever met a bisexual? Trust me man...HUGE difference. Oh and dogboy...good luck finding the 3rd. I can't imagine most women would line up to join another couple. Generally if a girl is bi and looking for a woman she doesn't wanna deal with said woman's guy hanging around. I think on the topic of her getting some on the side, its cheating if its done behind your back without permission, regardless of the other person's gender. That's why the two of them set up rules beforehand. So that there's a clear definition of what's allowed and what isn't.
-
Ya that area is known as Gordon's Well. If you keep going on the 8 you can head up the 78 to gecko rd. Here's a LINK to a map of the area. I think Gecko is about another 40 minutes of driving from the area your planning on going to.
-
What are you planning on doing down the road? If you think there's a chance that you might go stroker sometime then you should wait on the porting.
-
Hahaha...a lesbian married to a man? That makes alot of sense. Check the dictionary holyman, your vocab is a little muddled.
-
Well they would direct some more air over the engine but being that its not an air cooled engine I think the cooling effect would probably be less than 5 degrees. The other bikes that they make the air scoops for have a radiator at the front of the engine or are air cooled so those make sense. I dunno, I don't think the minimal amount of extra cooling is worth the geek factor on this one.
-
It kinda depends on what you ride. For really dusty conditions I like to use a foam filter. For sand I like the K&N's. If you ride in mud/water then keeping the airbox will help keep water out. The 2:1 isn't as bad with water as dual clamp on K&N's but still is fairly exposed.

You east coasters are gonna hate this
