  1. Not for me Fro...i'm hoping to find something pretty new. I've got an 87 now and i've already repaired a few cracks...I'm pretty hard on em.
  2. 104...and ya u need sprockets too. Getting one new and not the other will make the new one wear out really fast.
  3. I'm in the same boat as legend. Looking for a frame in the semi near future. Needs to be straight and not repaired, finish doesn't matter.
  4. Here's my auctions: Ebay
  5. TCS rebuild is better...no question
  6. Those ds's are BIG and cumbersome. Why is that your backup choice? Personally I think that the yfz or 450r are much better bikes (only comparing 4 strokes here). If you like the feel of a 2 stroke then the banshee is a SUPER fun machine. But if powerband hit/obnoxious screaming isn't your thing, go with a 4 stroke.
  7. Don't get me wrong...I love dumont. But why not make the effort to go to glamis and meet all the HQ'ers?
  8. www.clarkemfg.com
  9. Hehe...I'm before both of ya's.
  10. Hmmm...sounds like something just got added to my to-do list for tomorrow... Their shop is close to me. I'll swing on by if I gots the time.
  11. What kinda condition is the axle and sprocket hub in? Do you have paypal?
  12. I think you'll have better results with 8 paddle extremes unless your running a big bore or stroker. Banshee's like to spin their wheels and don't do so well when you try to lug em. Less paddles = more spin.
  13. I personally think the IMS tanks are f'ugly compared to the Clarkes. Keeping the scallops adds alot the the shee. Otherwise you've just got this big empty area that looks weird.
  14. Personally I wouldn't do it. You might gain a couple horses but you also might ruin your chance of getting a proffessional port job down the road. If your bored you could always polish your cyls/head.
  15. pilot/airscrew - 0-1/4 throttle Needle - 1/4-3/4 throttle mains - 3/4-WOT If your problem is WOT then it ain't the needle. Generally I try to get the jetting good at WOT and at idle while keeping the needle clip in the middle. Once I've got the airscrew and main right, I'll try moving the clip one postition and trying it out to see if it rides better. If it rides worse I'll try it one postion in the other direction. If it rides better then I'll try moving it one more clip to see if I can find the sweet spot.
  16. You won't be able to pull 10 paddles very well with stock bore/stroke. A banshee relies on wheel spin and doesn't like to be lugged around. You should be able to pull 9 paddle haulers but even then you might not be as fast as you would with 8 paddles. Also I'd get the reeds ASAP...since you've got some porting your stock reeds are definately holding you back. A stock shee might gain 2-3 horses from a set of v-force, but a ported shee could be 3x that easily.
  17. I've got the barnett and it ain't very heavy. Its maybe 1/2 ounce more than stock. Granted this is rotating mass but I figure my lightened flywheel more than makes up for it. Unfortunately its still too soon to tell how it's holding up. But it does have one weekend on it and no grenading.
  18. Try dropping down your gearing and putting your tires on right to get the same effect. What mods do you have and what gearing are you running now?
  19. Ya man if I ever buy another shee I'm going outside of cali for it. Even when you factor in the driving factor you'll still save a couple grand. Got some people to ride with? I'm thinking prez day out at glamis with all the east coast HQ'ers would be a good break in time!
  20. Already did. +4 longrod and it stuck up more than the width of a paper-thin base gasket. I got my head cut and works like a charm. I don't doubt that multiple base gaskets would work, I'm just saying that its a pretty ghetto means to an end. And no, there's no requirement to use proper grammar/punctuation, but if your going to call people children, then you'd better be able to express yourself like an adult.
  21. Hahahahahahahahaha! You ain't gonna clear by using 2 base gaskets my friend. Figure the pistons come out of the top of the cyls by 2mm. Given the thickness of base gaskets you'd need to use like 4 or 5 to get adequate clearance. How ghetto would that be? That's like these morons that replace 1/2" long bolts with 1.5" ones and 10 washers. So hey man...you have fun piling on the gaskets. Me...I'll stick with some nice cut domes that don't look like some redneck roadside repair. Oh and last I checked...us ADULTS use punctuation.
  22. I'm the opposite of bigred(no offense intended). The Shee's no slouch when it comes to power. Unfortunately though its using suspension technology from the early 90's. A bike that handles well is a bike that's gonna win races. Unless of course your just wanting to drag. Then its more about power vs. weight.

    Gecko's Wanted

Gecko's are about as effective on sand as a good pair of knobbies. I'd check out something like the sand sharks.
  24. Ok, so where's the proof?
  25. That frame would look killer with silver plastics and no stickers. That's what I'm doing to my wife's yfz.
