  1. You also need a longer chain. And if you've got any wear on your sprockets you should change those too.
  2. Geez! Even in California where quads are completely overpriced I don't think he could get more than$4000 for that.
  3. I think they're a good mod for anyone that isn't looking to eek out every last horsepower. You'll lose just a bit of power on top, but you'll gain it on the bottom. Throttle response will be better and you'll never have to sync carbs again. Also, jetting litterally takes about 1.5 minutes total. I'm not running the trinity. I made my own graydon-style intake out of some spare aluminum. I ride dunes almost exclusively and I'm very happy with my single carb.
  4. What are your other mods, your elevation, and do you mind having to run race gas?
  5. I'd move up a couple sizes on the main. Yeah sometimes people don't need to rejet for reeds, but I'd rather find out by making her too rich and backing it down to where I was. Melting a piston just aint fun in my book.
  6. I would guess stator. Pull the cover off and see how she looks. Maybe your grommet is bad so your stator cover filled with water.
  7. Yeah I got one of those too. You just unscrew the cap and look inside. Its 100% accurate.
  8. I've got an etrex Legend by Garmin. Its incredibly useful - for anything to finding camp or a nice jump that you marked the day before, to knowing your speed and distance travelled. The etrex line has an optional handlebar mount that attached directly onto my bars. Haven't had any problems with it coming loose and all it takes is a push of a button to remove it.
  9. In my physics class a guy burnt the hell outta his tongue by touching it to a capacitor.
  10. Mouse over my 1st post. There's a link there. Then scroll down on the page that it takes u to. Oh nevermind...here's the info: Approximate Cranking Compression These pressures are estimates based on fresh stock bore, piston, porting, and deck height. It is recommended to check your compression after installation. 11. Not to mention there still isn't a better quad for dunes.
  12. I ran fatties and switched to T5's. The fatties have a little more mid/low end and the powerband rolls on a little smoother, but their quality isn't very good. No matter how good you take care of FMF's nickel finish, its gonna rust. T5 quality on the other hand is top notch! They're an excellent all around pipe and are arguably the most popular pipe on the market. I haven't run the Trinity's but a few guys on here have em and are very pleased. Plus they're stainless steel which means no rust - ever!
  13. Can you still sue when that shit is true? Oops...guess I owe CEJ $10,000. You take checks?
  14. Lemme guess what ur drinking today
  15. No that's not normal. Sounds like you need to adjust your float height. Hopefully you've got a clymers on ya or somebody can chime in with the specs. Basically that little tab we were talking about, well you gotta bend it a c-hair at a time to make the float height change. Hehe...its pretty much trial and error - bend a little, reinstall floats and measure, bend it back cuz u went to far, etc etc... Oh ya and if that's not enough, you might need to rejet since lowering the level in the bowl is gonna make you run leaner.
  16. Um...so did you have the bowls off or not? If not, then you have a stuck float. Usually you can fix this by taping the side of the bowl with the handle of a screwdriver. Worst case is you might have to pull the bowl off and it'll free up. If you had em off, you could still have a stuck float, but add in the possibility of these: Bent float - there's a little metal tab that the float needle attaches to. If this gets bent it changes the level of the floats so the needle won't close off when the bowl is full. Second, you could've dropped the needle completely when you openned her up.
  17. Good transaction and a cool guy to deal with!
  18. Around here we say it has "character"
  19. Find those missing cc's yet?
  20. Oh holy hell! Hahahaha! Think we can start this thread over to save us all some embarassment?
  21. I've seen tons of dyno runs (including my own) before and after a timing advance and yours is the only one that has lost power. So do you think that you fucked up or everyone else did?
  22. Oh ya good point Watkins! Are you running a fuel filter? Adding a fuel filter in addition to the stock one in the tank doesn't really do much except slow down the rate of fuel. Also if your filter is gummed up that could cause it too.
  23. I've got the flame design and the only time I have overheating issues is if I'm putting around on a hot day. As long as I can keep it up above 20mph for about a minute out of every 15 its fine. I keep an eye on things with a temp gauge - good mod to have regardless of your decision.
  24. Its all in the porting.
