Its definately worth it. Not only does it replace all the soft stock bolts that strip out like crazy, but I've got a TUB full of metric nuts and bolts now. Everytime I go riding it seems like somebody needs something.

Who got the best xmas present?!
Wallrat replied to Rookie_of_the_year's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Some women just can't be taught. Believe me I've wasted hundreds of man-hours trying. For them its best to just have em on their knees with their back and head against the wall. That way they can't back away when you show em how their supposed to do it. -
This is the set I got off ebay: www.alloyboltz.com Shipped quickly and great quality! I just got the normal kit (non polished) and they're super shiny. The polished ones are just touched up on a buffing wheel. You could do that yourself if you're going for a show bike or something. Otherwise the normal set is just fine.

Same here! I bought a bumper and a swingarm off him a long ass time ago (before this forum was around). Good guy to deal with and came thru w/ no problems.

crappy hqer business transaction
Wallrat replied to 2bzy2p's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
That depends. If he fixes his fuck up its not a big deal. A little shady, but not the end of the world. As far as the premium member only kinda thing...I think that's a good idea provided you have different membership levels. Like $5 to sell stuff only kinda membership. I sell stuff on occassion cuz I don't need the parts tripping me up in my garage. I'm not trying to start a side business selling parts though, so if I had to pay $20 just to keep my garage clean, I'd just go the ebay route. Make more money selling your parts there anyway. -
Also it depends on the timing advance, if any. 21's should be okay with up to a +4 advance at sea level, but nothing smaller.

Haha! I emailed the guy saying I was VERY interested in it, here's the reply that I received: Hello, I have received your email regarding my ATV. First you have to know bidding is restricted since I am careful with my auction, so no-one will press the button until I have the assurance that he will buy it. The atv is in perfect condition, with no scratches on it, no damage. The price for the atv with shipping included is $1,900 USD. The atv had to be a christmas present for my brother as he loves atv`s very much, but he did not enjoy it as he died in a car accident 1 months ago. It brings very bad memories for me since his birthday is in 2 weeks so here it is, I want to get rid of it as my mother also cannot stand looking at it. Here people won't pay this amount for a atv as they prefer to buy a car for this money. All the manuals and the original documents are in English. It is made for US market and has US specs on it. The buyer will receive this along with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it in his name. The atv is in London, UK and it will be shipped from here. Shipping will be done via TNT cargo-express and it will take no more then 3 days. I have a friend there who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it is from me to pay for shipping it. When I will ship it, I will declare it as a gift so that you will pay no custom when you will receive it and for this it will be delivered directly to your address. Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in buying it, please reply with the following information: -Your full name; -Your shipping address; -Your eBay user id; The transaction will close only through eBay so we both will be protected. I will look forward to your email, so that we can move forward with this deal. Thank you. Dude...Stephen you're riding a dead guy's bike!

Hey all. I just repaired a crack on my frame just above the forward left motor mount - just above the reinforcing sleeve for the 2 bolt holes. Since then I've seen identical cracks on 2 other banshee frames! Its really hard to see unless u get your eyeball right on top of it. Here's a picture of the exact location (sorry but its on a modified frame):
-
What elevation are you at? Or where are these dunes if you don't know the elevation? Sounds like your lean, which is gonna make you run hot. Also what's your temperature? With your mods you shouldn't be overheating unless its over 90 degrees and your putting around, or your radiator is completely trashed and has no fins left. Oh and ya a billet impeller helps. But better to fix the cause than the symptom.

Check the exhaust coming out of both pipes. Are they equal pressure? Probably not. Try switch spark plug wires and see if its still not firing on the same side. If the problem moved to the other side its electrical. If it didn't, then its: Carbs out of sync low compression bad reeds airleak plugged jets case leak different jet sizes in each carb old spark plugs Think that's all of em...
-
Stock lights or aftermarket? Did you hook the battery up to the bulbs or some point on the wires? Reason I ask is cuz I just fixed Watkins Torch Lights. One of em was running off n on and really weak. Pulled out the light and the set screw holding the wires on was missing so it was just bouncing around in there.

That's kinda cool albeit different. I'm gonna have to change my will - I wanna get my ashes used as premix when all my homies ride at glamis!

crappy hqer business transaction
Wallrat replied to 2bzy2p's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
That's called the old bait n' switch and its illegal actually. He has 2 options at this point, send you the cyls or send back your money. -
I run 5lbs all around on my sandstars. Good float but okay for some jumping too.
-
Ya but from where she is Glamis and Dumont dunes are only about 3 hours away. I'd have to guess but I think the nearest trails are about 1-1.5 hours. If you were that close to both of those places would you even think about anything other than a shee? Don't get me wrong, my yfz450 is a great bike for beginners or experts, and I actually prefer it on tight trails. But if you're a banshee lover and you're near dunes, I say just go for the shee from the start. If you do go with a 4 stroke, I wouldn't go any smaller than a 400. My wife had a 300ex and she couldn't follow me up every hill. Even piped it just didn't have the ponies. Now she has the 450 and tears it up!
-
Even a piped banshee wouldn't be all that bad for a first quad. Especially if you're riding sand. Just keep the knobbies on there and it'd be a pussycat.
-
I've always used channel locks. Screwdriver and a hammer works well to loosen it up initially.
-
So did somebody report it to ebay yet?

crank case seals and exhaust? QUESTION
Wallrat replied to CadillacBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Anytime you've got the cases split its a good idea to put in new seals. You can purchase a leakdown tester to see if you case is tight. -
To mount a battery you're going to need to convert the banshee to dc. Ok well you'll need to if you want the battery to be charged by the bike.
-
I use www.sidestep.com alot for my travel. Isn't always the cheapest, but often enough it is.
-
Well he had to build somekind of regulation circuit and heat sinks to mount the luxeons to. But other than that it aint that difficult. Here's his original thread: CLICKY And in action:
-
Tell em to stop eating asparagus!
-
4 strokes are naturally easier to learn on. Even big 4 strokes like the yfz450 are very beginner friendly. I don't think a banshee makes a bad first quad, as long as you understand the machine's capabilities and your own limitations you'll be fine. What kind of terrain are you planning to ride on? That'll have more bearing on your first quad choice than any other aspect.

I bought this one from harbor freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Disp...temnumber=31877 ) about the same time that I got my shee. That was something like 2.5 years ago now and I've used it hundreds of times - from wheel lug nuts, suspension parts, and plenty of work on the banshee. I'd say I easily got $50 out of it, but I bought it when it was on sale for $35. Talk to the guys at harbor freight, the guy at my local shop just gives me rainchecks on the spot for the sale price of stuff so I don't have to wait for the sale of that particular item. While harbor freight stuff is somewhat disposable, for the price you can't beat em for stuff you only need on occassion. I'd chose that one over the cordless if I was you since electric impacts tend to suck juice and I doubt those harbor freight batteries are any good.
