  3. WOW, that sucks man. If I were you I would find another jug and start over. I'm sure it can be welded. I feel your pain, just on a different scale. As far as a new swinger goes, it would depend on your type of riding. With any longer swingarm your looking at adding a different spring and changing the valving for it to be right. Or getting a different rear shock all together. Hope you get her back up and running soon.

  5. We will have a drag to smooth out the strip. We don't race at the usual drags. We race towards the back of the dunes. You going to be out there this weekend?
  6. Sounds like your covered most everything. It must be the raptor plastics.. lol.. Had to throw that in there. So have you inspected the wiring harness? Any burns or breaks? Did you put the new reeds in before or after it died? Possible broken reed? Usually they will start with a broken reed but barely run. Check and clean all electrical connections. Good luck with that, if you figure it out let us know what it was!

  9. All year Banshee's sold in CA were issued titles. What you need to do is contact the DMV and see if you can get a duplicate title. But since your not the registered owner they probably wont give it to you. Kinda screwed there, because I dont think they will provide you his contact information either. All you can do is call and ask questions. Good luck with that! Hope you get it worked out

  11. 32:1 is a good all around mixture. Been running it for years. No problems yet. Well not with the mixture and ceasing I should say. :biggrin:
  12. Curious as to how you opened it up and found out it was making the noise? If you spin it by hand and it makes noise. You for sure need a new bearing at least. Might as well throw a billet impeller in there while your at it.

  14. To me is sounds like your bowls are not getting the fuel they need. Are you running a fuel filter? How are your fuel lines routed? I had this problem one time. Turned out to be that the overflow hose on the gas cap was pinched and wouldnt let the fuel flow into the carbs. So if you let it sit for a minute the fuel would trickle down filling up the bowls. It would fire up and rip for a minute then die. Make sure your choke tube is connected in between the two carbs. What do your plugs look like? And its always good to do a compression check to see where you stand. Hope this helps.
  15. I used to run that exact same setup. Had 300 mains, 27.5 pilots at sea level. Never had any bottom end really. Just mid to top.

  18. Toomey makes a hush kit that makes the pipes quieter and comes out underneath the rear grab bar. CPI also made some silencers that came out underneath the grab bar.
  19. Have you checked your pickup coil gap? Sounds like the only thing that could be left. Is your harness in good shape? Not burnt against a pipe or anything?
  20. You can purchase them at yamahapart.com From what i know the motor mount pads help keep the vibration in the bike down. Could be wrong though. Also since your motor is trying to twist when you go it pads the cases somewhat. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
  21. You holding the throttle wide open when doing your compression test? Plugs backing out and it running hot sounds like it could be a timing issue. If your timing is to much it could cause detonation. Which in turn makes the bike hot and backs the plugs out. Maybe a little lean in your jetting? Just some thoughts
  22. At what point in your throttle was it bogging? You are correct in moving the needle clip lower on the needle. It will make your mid throttle richer.
  23. Whats done to your bike already? Best bang for the buck is porting along with good pipes. Eventually you should get some kind of cool head, advance your timing some, and make sure its tuned correctly. With a good port job, and pipes you should be able to take down stock 450s and all the hills you want.
  24. There are a couple of reasons to why you bike would be spilling out tranny fluid. One would be that the tranny is over filled. Two would be that you have a bad crank seal that's causing pressure in the cases therefore making tranny fluid flow out of the overflow. Three would be that your water pump seal went bad and is filling your cases up with water. First things to check. Does your oil look normal or does it look like its mixed with water? If it looks good the next thing you should do is a leak down test. The loss of power could be because its getting hot. What temp does your bike run at? Could also be a blown head gasket. There's lots of possible reasons.
  25. If you want more power, a port job will give you that power. I believe its the best bang for the buck. Porting will not affect the reliability. I've never had anything ported by Herr Jugs, but I've read many many good things about his porting. Should run you about 400 bucks with new gaskets.
