  1. My buddy was running one for awhile, didnt make much difference to be honest. He also had the pro design one with less fins that some of the other I've seen. I guess it would help if your on the verge of overheating all the time. If anything it could add more bling to your bike.
  2. I second that. I don't know any shee that can launch in third gear without stalling. Unless your gearing is way off, or like Shayne said, clutch slipping, bad adjustment, worn or broken springs.
  3. I would have to agree that it was a faulty impeller. Let us know what they say, if you get ahold of them. I've been running my pro design impeller for a long time now with no issues.
  4. Check out this link. Scroll down towards the bottom. it gives you a chart stating around where your compression should be for your dome size and elevation. http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm
  5. You need one of these. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...2#vehicleSelect As far as your jetting, your lean. I would try 280-300 to start and go from there. What elevation are you at? Shaving the head will bump up your compression. Wont give a whole lot more performance, if any. If you shave it enough you will have to run race fuel, and it can get costly.
  6. What carbs are you running? When was the last time you Sync'd it? What is your compression on both cylinders since you already checked it? The bike will run with the carbs out of sync. Just be harder to start and not perform to its full potential. With only one pipe getting hot, it sounds like it was only running on one cylinder. Hows the fuel line routed to the carbs? It could be such that only one carb is getting fuel. The float could be stuck in the carb causing it to not let fuel into the cylinder that had the cold pipe. Tap the side of the bowl with the end of a screw driver and see if that helps.
  7. I used to run a filter when i had stock carbs without a problem. When I went to bigger carbs it seemed as if the bowls were running dry. Ditched the fuel filter and never had a problem after that. If you are seeing a flow difference when the fuel filter is inline I would take it out, and just rely on the screen the petcock has. Been running mine in the sand that way for a long time with no issues. As far as the lean condition causing your bike to blow up before. Can't say yes or no. If you were running the bowls dry its very possible the cylinder wasn't getting enough fuel, and as we all know the fuel is what lubes everything.
  8. I was thinking choke tube myself. It would make the right cylinder run lean if the choke tube is off. Could be many things. Bad coil, Bad spark plug cap, Bad spark plug even if its brand new, Low compression, clogged jet, carbs out of sync, head gasket. I would start with the easy things. Clean your carbs out really well. Sync the carbs and make sure your choke tube is on, check your compression. If it doesnt work after that, let us know what the compression is and what its doing.
  9. That sucks man. I personally wouldn't want to kill the guy, but instead crush his legs into pieces so he could never walk again. Let him be crippled for life so he can remember everyday why he's messed up, and hopefully pass the story along to someone just like him that may get the picture. On that note. Time to get some anchors put into the garage floor, a big chain, and a nice lock. Hope you get her back.
  10. I'm guessing its the idle adjustment screw.

It sucks, and the rangers dont really care.
