they blow there is something very very wrong internally witht hem. i had one and my 350 stocker cylinders that i ported would blow it away. they suck. get a cub,.

[they both look ok to me. the 4 mill intakes are a little small. but hey wish i could post up some pics..i have some of my 350cc cylinders. there is really no huge power increase to be had in the intakes themselves. the cylinder as a whole has to work together with the other parts of you motor to ge the desired power out...

i will be there for sure i may need a campsite? i have an astro van. and a 18ft flat trailer ( dont laugh!) i will be bringing 3 banshee's and a few 4 pokes ( tow bikes).. i LOVE to drag the dunes if ya bring lights that will be sweet!! i havee seen porta tree's out there before the rangers should not have a problem with it.. also if someoen has a ranger we should get a skid ready to smooth some sand.. i would love to se a dm out on the dunes! i was going to run smooth drag day ( dune wars) through planetsand on this weekend but hell. with all the crap i am getting for it i may not run it at all.. just hang out and drag with you guys. we should get a pic of all the banshee's together to post..

oh and when is this banshee hq ride day at little saraha in oklahoma?? i wold love to run that meet some people from this site that maybe dosen't hang out at planetsand?

holy cow what a crazy post!! here are my opinions... no~one builder does the "best" port in the world.. the ps drags if you got something fast yea right get it out on the dunes a prove it that way. only big hitters and DEEP pockets are going to win that race.. porting is WAY to overrated.. but so are a lot of things in the good ole banshee world.. you can have a sweet port but if everything else on t he bike is mis matched badly tuned or its just a turd to begin with that will make a lot of bikes really slow hell even your WEIGHT has a HUGE factor in that.. your riding skills your desire to win.. dragging brakes is one of the worst.. howmany people here have ever checked to make sure their brakes are not dragging? or the axle bearings are bad and dragging? there are soooo many factors in making a fast bike fast that most people just dont get it.. i have been holding my own out on the dunes and i am self taught ( and a lot of help along the way from a lot of reading and willingness to try different things) if you really want to go fast just throw money at it nos 20 mill turbo w nitro beat that ok? hell 4 stroke 3 wheeler w full comp control and 3 stage nitros.. beat that? if you are to the point that you need portwork people will need to know what you want in t he bike's performance, what you already have, and what you plan to do.. i see motors as a package to get to this hp and tq you need this.. NOT just portwork the question thats not asked very often is how fast do i want to go how do i ride the bike how serious am i really.. the cubs are a great alternative to really any porting.. they do have a more of a drag oriented port in them already though but can make tremendious power all over .. the 421 cub is a really excellent motor.. and is my personal favorite motor for a banshee anymore mx track drags they can be set up to stomp some butt.. if you like this motor (passion) to this one (fast) please be a little more specific.... whay do you like that one better? did you keep everything the same except the cylinders? a TRUE comparison would be to take a good running motor and get different cylinders like a set of "drag ported 350cc (65mm bore) cylinders from different porters and run them in the same frame, suspension, pipe, carb ignition same rider and see what the differences were.. i build all my own motors after sending my cylinders in one time to ct and getting back nothing but an empty pocket i decided to teach myslef how to port after about 10 years now i feel i know enough to get any banshee to run really good and be very reliable.. reliability HA HA i have heard this before.. my neighbor used to ask me why i had to rebuild my bikes so often it old him because i RIDE THEM.. his banshee was bone stock and had about 60 hors on it.. he couldnt understand why my bikes needed rings and pistons often ( every 1 1/2 half years) i told him i run about 10 cgallons of gas a weekend and thats ALL dragracing. its easy to get a banshee reliable but there is a long list of thigns that need to be changed in the motor as a whole not just a overwide exhaust port i have seen bad port eat rings a live.. and be actually very very small width.. from what i have seen fast racing bikes run good, and cairo's run great i have had the most problems beating those guys. but they were not ported only bikes either.. ( see package thing again!) passion's trinity's ct's esr sandtrix's every builder you can think of has had good running bikes.. you just cannot narrow it down to this one guy is the best!

i think this is a very simple to answer question is the banshee a bad arse?? is it a drag motor that was profesionally built? big carbs big port special head sweet reeds override locker at least a high hp motor?? if NO then the guy that you bought it from may have heard some BS and dosen't know what he is talking about.. straight cut gears are usually saved for high hp motors +90 hp they actually take the stress off of the main crank bearing on that side. think about it with angled gear sets they are constatly "pushing out" on each other and that causes a lot of stress on a big motor.. so if this is a run o the mill banshee pipes jeted couple bolt ons i really doubt it has straight cut gears also they cost about 390 bucks + install they have to be put on your basket unless you buy the hinson spring loaded basket/ straight cut gear set.. ( if you dune race HARD or have ever broken your bolts out of the back of a basket you NEED one..)

i might sell my 350cc banshee. i thinks its a 1998 frame cases/motor is a 2000 and 04 cylinders. motor built last year full drag port ohton head 17cc domes 34mm pj's modded and flowed reeds w boyesen reeds crankworks big ball fully welded crank stokc rod stroke 65mm wiseco's shearer inframe 350 pipes runs on gas right now barnet billet basket brand new clutch this motor makes about 70 ish hp as is on gas has been run on alky w 38mm lectrons and picked up 3-4 lengths other.. accel coil dyna ignition +6 arrons awing arm honda type carrier stock axle stock front end p[ainted plastic red/ black frame and componets are all stock.. full brakes this was my lil sleeper drag bike it looks really stock and boring but runs really good and has turned its fair share of heads a LOT of people think that its a 4 mill i have drag paddles for it and fronts.. i want 4,000 out of it it will need new rear brake pads very soon... if you think you might be interested i it let me know i live in hutchinson about 3 hours away. its not a cream puff but the motor more than makes up for the uglyness..

i live in hutch kansas i have a 350cc 1996 framed 2000 engine banshee... drag port + 6 swinger dyna, accell, ohton head w 17cc domes, wiseco 65mm pistons, intakes, reeds, shearer inframe 350 pipes, OR out frame shearer same side hand builts. crankworks stock stroke billet crank, 34mm pj's, pump gas/ race gas/ alky? 75+hp ( pump gas) bike.. would trade + little cash.. you could strip it and make it any color you want full brakes, lights no tabs cut off, stock frame and front end. really strong motor,.

i have the perfect set up full 2000 roller banshee AND a 1990 cbr 600cc motor complete from elctrics to carbs.. the banshee has no motor or electrics this was going to be converted but they never got started on it the banshee is not a pristine jewel but would be good for a chop up or conversion.. full roller everything is there 1200 for ALL of it. sell the motor on ebay for 500 bucks or more and get a lot of your money back. been sitting for 3 years..

new gears, new shift drum, detent spring, shift shaft, shift arms and the guides.. should fix it also make sure you are not over tqing the drive sproket to the shaft... if the forks are bending the gears are wanting to "pop" out. the gears have to have worn engagement dogs OR yor drum is worn and its not holdng the gear all the way in and the for is the result..

i built a 420 cub last year like that. he never ran a "fast" banshee before. we kept the stock carbs it ran just fine pulled hard all the way through and had a nice overrev. i also cleaned and matched the porting in the cylinder. there is a lot of "flashing and mismatch in there.. the t-5's will work good also the motor will run harder than you stock cylinders ever did.. just put it together and see what you think! if you want to go to bigger carbs thats an easy change.. i would definately have the crank welded and a tz drive bearing to fight drive bearing thrust and a billet clutch basket new clutch componets, and make sure your shift shaft and shifting parts are ok. you are going to add a lot of hp and tq to the motor anything else inthe bottom end thats weak or about to go bad will show up very quick..

i run a 17cc ohton head with pump gas. the dyna will burn more fuel and fight the detonation along with a nology coil.. stoke stroke 65mm pistons.. my 350cc play dragger

well i f i wanted fmf's i would have said i need some fmf's... pro circuits only!!!! or some other pipe that pulls and overrev's like they do ( nope i dont think its possible) i just sold a set of fmf's.... it has shearer's on it now but i dont want it to "look" like its for dragging.. it has all the brakes tabs parts springs and stock bs on it now. if the stock pipes would pull hard enough id use them!

just like it says i am looking for a set of pro circuit pipes looking to sleeper my 350 a little bit.. take the shearer's off of it. if they are beat up, fine they dont need to be prestine and i won't pay an arm and a leg for them so no oh they are "new" $450.00 b.s. ok.. looking to spend about 150-200 depending on condition.. whatscha got!!

it stinks you cant even sell a drag banshee for more than 6,000 anymore and yes that would be a full frame 120+ hp drag banshee.... i have seen t-pin 350 powervalve r's with FULL lonestar billet everything selling fro 4500. yikes!!
