Rotating Rear Wheels To Make Wider?
ruff_rida69 replied to tacoking's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
when i got my banshee it had all the wheels turned around, but if you turn the front wheels around you'll have to take it to a tire shop and get them to drill new valve stem holes, and then they'll turn your old valve stems inside out "where the valve stem is in the inside of the tire, I turned mine back around because of XC but I loved it when they were turned around I could go around any curve wide open, hope this helps -

inline coolers bigger the better...
ruff_rida69 replied to 98bonerSTOCKshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
ok I'm planing own building my own temp. gauge and the info wyoduner posted is really helpfull, but Im having a little trouble understanding where the meat temp gauge go's in, ok the T fitting splits and has a hose goning to the radiator and another coming up to the gas tank, does a smaller hose go into the bigger hose and then put the temp gauge into it and then clamp it down with hose clamps? Thanks, Jonathan -
you might could go to a local hardware store and get a tap and retap it, as far a the heli coil I've never used one but I say a tap is gonna be your easyest and cheapest way to fix it, maybe some body else has some good ideal's

Who Has Ported There Own Reed Cages
ruff_rida69 replied to demsy's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
nope I didn't have any problems so far, it was really easy, and I'm useing boyesen reeds because i had already ordered them when I decieded to port the cages. -
mine does that if I don't ride for a couple days, all I do is spray the shaft with wd-40 and then put some grease on it and it works like brand new again.

Who Has Ported There Own Reed Cages
ruff_rida69 replied to demsy's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I ported mine, but I say if you got the money go for V-force, my ported ones work alot better then stock and seems to give me more throttle response and a little more all around power, if your planing on doing it your self heres a website that helped me alot when i did mine. http://www.roostfest.com/cages.htm -
the bottle under your seat and between your silencers is the coolant tank and alotta people move it up front where mine is because for some reason the coolant in it will slowly go away for some reason and moving the bottle up front stops this from happening I think, alotta aftermarket companys make a water bottle relocater, hope this helps
-
when i first got my banshee it didn't have a water bottle and i got tired of the coolant dripping all over my leg and my pipes, so i got a weed eater gas tank and zip ties it to the front and haven't had any more problems, I've heard its a good ideal to move to up front too.

well today I sent a buddy of mine a e-mail and later on I gotta e-mail back in my junk mail folder saying mail delivery failed and open it up, and didn't think anything about it, well I just found out a few hours ago on msn that it's a new virus , so i think I got it, so my advise is if you get something like this delete it right fast and download an anti-virus if you don't have one "I'm downloading one right now" and hopefully no one will get this P.O.S virus, and also msn says it go's out 1 in every 12 e-mails sent and that it's the worst virus they have seen so far! just thought i would post this and give every one a heads up if it comes there way. Duplicolor Metalcast On Cylinders?
ruff_rida69 replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
the only bad thing about useing a dremel with sanding bits is that it leaves very bad sanding marks that take forever to get out, the best bit I've found for this is a sanding stone, it's round and very thin and does'nt remove to much metal, and leaves very little marks, Jonathan -
did you order wiseco rings? I know wiseco does'nt fit for some reason, but i know pro-x and WSM rings fits stock pistons.

Duplicolor Metalcast On Cylinders?
ruff_rida69 replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
the ground coat worked on my cylinders, and never had a problem outta it, but sorry i don't have a pic of my cylinders because i sold them the other day to get new ones, but on my frame it looks good and is pretty tough but you gotta remember it's paint, on some places is come off on my frame like under the seat where the seat rubs the frame but other then that it looks very good, Heres a shitty picture of my frame, in real life it looks 300% better then this picture "shitty camera" I can try to get a better one tommorrow and send it to you if you like, Jonathan -
Duplicolor Metalcast On Cylinders?
ruff_rida69 replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
thats one reason i used the ground coat, that way i didn't have to sand every little part of the cylinders, but i would say if you don't use the ground coat your gonna be sanding a few days because it has to be a really shiny surface, and then it would look like the noss head i guess, I have tryed the metalcast paint by it's self with out the ground coat but you could see right through it and every spot you missed sanding shows up like a sore thumb, thats the reason i used the ground coat, if you got the time and didn't wanna use the ground coat then just sand it down but then you are gonna be closer to your goal of polishing your cylinders, but if you wanna save some time then just use the ground coat like i did, and as far as the adhesion promoter I just use it on plastic, but thats your choice, I don't really see it helping any but thats me. ohh and also I used the grond coat and the metalcast on my frame and it looks real good, everyone thinks its a pro paint job, because of the way it sparkle's, but good luck! and I hope it turns out for the best for ya,I'm here if you need any help, Jonathan -
Duplicolor Metalcast On Cylinders?
ruff_rida69 replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well i stripped all the old paint off, then went from 320 grit to 600 grit and then used 2 coats of metalcast ground coat, and then used 3 to 4 coats with the metalcast anidized color, but i would make sure that you use the metalcast ground coat, and it lookes bad ass with it, it looks like you put metal flake in the paint, and then let it dry like 2 or 3 days and your set to go ride -
Duplicolor Metalcast On Cylinders?
ruff_rida69 replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I painted mine with the red metalcast a while back and it worked very well, and it stayed on and didn't flake, then i started to polish them and it came off with a little paint stipper, I'll probley use it again on my new cylinders too. -
