This topic needs to keep going, BRAD you idiot i know you are reading this, write back or call, we won't stop. ~Mark~ -
banshee's (my 87 anyway) don't have a brake switch, so the brake light isn't supposed to get brighter when you hit the pedal...and yes it probably gets dimmer when you click on your hi beams because the hi beams draw more voltage than lo beam, so your tail light gets dimmer...and no this does not affect your ignition/spark current because the stator has 2 separate systems, one for lights and one for ignition..good luck ~Mark~

thanks loco, i though the tabs in the lockout replaced the disks, making it so the clutch would barely slip, making for some rough take offs...i think i understand them things now ~Mark~

HEY ASSHOLE, WRITE BACK. -
so it uses a lockout and streetbike clutches?? i was under the impression that a lockout does not use the clutch plates anymore...that's weird. ~Mark~

was i the only one that got a semi while reading that?? makes me sad that my stupid swingarm is cracked, bearings are destroyed, and the bolt is rusted in the tube...kinda funny how i was listening to "too much of a good thing" while reading that, GREAT post we need more like that ~Mark~

i have a double tubed roll bar in the bed of my toyota, i'll just chain it to that...backing up to a telephone pole has gotta be the best idea so far...and it's ok because i have room for gear inside the truck, and my ramps are 2x12" cedar planks, i doubt any kid wants those..really sucks your shee got stolen, find the guy and chemically castrate him somehow, cut his hands off and duct tape the stubs, then finally hog tie him and stick his theivin ass in a closet with a straw for food and water that goes out the door, and pee in the tube ~Mark~

i'd just wait for a monoblock/cheetah setup...also don't skip bore sizes like what was said above, never ever ever ever bore your cylinders to gain power, always always always bore the minimum amount, just enough to clean up the scratches in the cylinder walls...for obvious reasons ~Mark~

Banshee parts for sale in Michigan
fast87 replied to 68charger's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
to make a long story short, i took the money from our paypal account without my parents knowing, so my dad sent him some bad e-mails stating that he ripped us off, 68charger called my house and they figured out i took the money from our account, i got in BIG trouble, paid the money back and more, now for 68charger's feelings being "hurt" he thinks he should keep 78.00, I DON'T THINK SO!! send me what's rightfully mine, or me and my dad will keep sending you e-mails until you send it.. we won't forget or give up. ~Mark~ -

this is kinda off topic, but i run a single 35mm PWK with the graydon proline setup, on the 2 overflow hoses, mine only has a hose on i believe the left side, should i add another hose the opposite side? i am worried about dirt getting in there, also can i just cap that one off and leave the existing hose? i guess it can't be a vacuum leak since it's an overflow tube(right?), Thanks and oh yeah, free bump ~Mark~

Stock Banshee with Zero Size Pistons
fast87 replied to thegoodkidwhomightlikebanshees's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
these engines are known for being somewhat high maintenance, so live with it...and i'm not trying to be a smartass here but this could quite possibly win the most pointless question award, what are you trying to accomplish with an answer?? you woulden't be happy with a mathematical answer either, because A. it woulden't be long enough, or B. you think a 4 stroke is better... so go buy a 4 stroke and don't worry about it...but honestly there is no real answer to this question, and what will you GAIN with a "correct" answer?? if someone said that with easy 1/2 throttle MAX riding your engine lasts 246.897hrs, and you go exactly 1/2 throttle at the most just a few times, what will you do?? quit riding your bike and tear it down a few hours before it's "due" to "blow up"?? on the other hand, if you want reliability, ditch the stock cast pistons and buy some wiseco prolites(forged), they will last much longer IMO...also no porting or engine mods of any kind, because anytime you add more HP, you decrease the life span of the engine....oh yeah get your crank trued and welded, for that you must split the cases...IF by chance you already own a banshee, and don't have this, buy a clymers manual ASAP, it will help a great deal ~Mark~ -
i have been thinking about putting my 4,500.00 baby into the back of my truck and parking it at school for 6hrs a day...you made me almost change my mind, it woulden't be hard for someone to drop the tailgate, yank it to the ground, fire it up and drive off(no key), or back up to it and unload right into their truck, how convenient...maybe i'll just slap a big ass chain and lock on there around my roll bar ~Mark~

some guy swears the banshee motor is a V-twin
fast87 replied to loganskinner's topic in General Banshee Discussion
actually a wrestling helmet would better suit him, because they're made of a hard foam and protect your ears in case guys like us punch him in the head for being stupid...oh yeah and stick an upside-down yamaha elblem on the front forehead, i say if he's on his V-twin banshee you get an extra 10-15 extra HP, althought i have yet to test this on a dyno.. ~Mark~ -
not to mention a solid mounted motor would vibrate your hands right off the bars.. you'd be tired of riding after a good hour, i had an old kawasaki 100 dirtbike like that, to top it off the grips were like plastic.. ~Mark~

fast87 replied to loganskinner's topic in General Banshee Discussion
also for all who never knew it, the banshee(and every other 2 stroke ATV or motorcycle i know of) is technically a HEMI, it stands for HEMIspherical head design, with the plug in the center....so why not tell em you got an inclined inline HEMI 2 cylinder 2 stroke...with the red powerband(your stock green one didn't pull as hard when the valves started to float at about 12K RPM)...lol ~Mark~ -
