damn i might redo my wires...good idea but i'd use shoe goo instead, i swear by that stuff, flexes like silicone but doesnt peel off like it, i highly recommend it for almost any repair, it's the new duct tape!! ~Mark~
-
i love mine, 178-175 main, but i also have the adjustable power jet..so without that i suspect i would need about a 180-185 main..not sure ont he other needles i haven't touched em, the last owner had it "professionally jetted" lol yeah right ~Mark~

there's a little plastic clip that holds em in...my stock wires were too short anyway so i replaced em with some 7-8mm automotive spark plug wires..the stock centers are steela nd the auto ones were fiber..so they need to be electrical taped in very well to the coil, push em in as far as possible so the probe goes inside the wire, then tape away...thread on your plug caps and away you go ~Mark~

not regular ATF...use only Type F automatic tranny fluid...it's specifically made for older fords with a certain type of clutches that match our banshees clutches closer..so stick to type F, not regular ATF....i dont think it will hurt, but it couldent help since i've only read about type F, even he pros use it ~Mark~

if you do it on a banshee shift faster than you ever have before to keep the nose down, also i hope you want a new clutch too because it's hell on clutches...after i did a couple minute burnout(hard packed gravel) in 6th gear varying the throttle my clutch didnt grab like it did...IMO it wasn;t worth it, i've heard bleach on the tires makes quick smoke but it's not "real" to me..i'll try it someday in the street with my stockers and some bleach, also get pics or the memory will fade along with your wallet ~Mark~

idle the bike and spray carb cleaner all around the intake connections and rubber parts, if the idle surges when u spray it over something you have an airleak...ir could even die when you do this...as you sit on the quad on the left side of the carbs there is a black plastic screw with a flathead on it, use a large flathead screwdriver and turn it in 1/4 turn at a time to adjust idle, if you're not sure unscrew the top of the carbs gently(no pliers..or with a rag around the teeth), pull out the sildes(note installed direction), and look 4 the screw that holds the slide up a little but..thats the idle, good luck ~Mark~

EVERYBODY here should watch this video, it proves a very good poiint, lucky for me i have whorehauser roads right in my backyard, it may be "illegal" to ride on but those fat fucks in their big ol trucks can't catch me....in my truck or jeep it's a different story tho, these new laws SUCK!! they're just trying to stop people from having fun, everybody that 4 wheels should look for local 4 wheel drive clubs, they do many clean ups, etc...and are a great family experience also ~Mark~
-
i doubt it's a 2:1 pipe, the left side pipe and silencer just fell off..lol and stock plastic stator side cover?? wtf?? this guy is a fucking idiot, the 30,000 was a typo he meant to say 3,000...who wants an 87 "racer" anyway? i will admit for 900.00 i'd buy it, with the ripped nerf bar nets..haha another ebay dumbass ~Mark~
-
i got the glass centered one, you can open it up to clean it also, plus it doesnt use the AN threaded fittings, each end has a nipple that the hose slides over..worth the 8-10 bucks IMO ~Mark~
-
this is the first that i've heard about graydon being out of business...that sucks i have the intake and nerf bars and love em both, great products IMO..couldent find a website either they must have deleted it.. ~Mark~
-
also what octane gas are you running? too high will cause it to start hard when cold..new plugs? too rich on the jetting?? does it run perfect after its running or does it not have the top end that it once had..or chokes up?? good luck ~Mark~
-
i run the graydon setup with a 35mm PWK and love it, tons up top and lots down low...can't go wrong with this setup IMO...easy jetting, etc... i can't complain, i say get the graydon over the trinity, the longer intake runners must help in some way...i can revv mine out till she blew up if i felt like it...normally i don't feel like doin such a stupid thing fortunately..lol....buy the graydon you wont be disappointed, as long as it's got at least a 33mm carb stuck to it you'll have plenty of top end ~Mark~

type F automatic transmission fluid...FINALLY switched over from the "energy conserving" super tech wal mart shit...it made my clutch slip, after about 8 hours on new oil it was dark grey with clutch fiber material...brand new clutch too!! yes i broke it in AND soaked them in oil first(but only for about a minutes each plate)...ran 2 hours on the new type F and it looks like brand new, no dark fiber in it at all, plus 4 bucks for 2 quarts can't be beat, i dumped in 2 full quarts to make sure the clutch ball doesn't weld itself to the rod...works great and it migth be slightly harder to find neutral, but it doesn't bother me one bit..knowing my clutch will last longer it worth it, i highly recommend it, others may think differently.. ~Mark~

a raptor axle will work..i believe it makes it 2" narrower and 1-2lbs lighter...good for drag racing...all the parts should bolt up to it, but i'm not sure about the lock nuts.. ~Mark~
-
use the handyman's secret weapon...DUCT TAPE!! it'll work for a while until you can make something permanent out of super glue and rope...until then good luck, i know there are companies that make billet intakes..try a google search or trinity might sell em..better yet askt he guy you bought the monsterous 600cc kit from, good luck and dont kill yourself on that beast, i can only imagine how fast it'll get up and go, daaamn!! ~Mark~
-
LOL, the caps thing was funny, good find ~Mark~
-
a top end kit is about 150-170...you NEED to get it bored also, theres no point in just honing it unless its in perfect shape...and perfectly round side to side and top to bottom....but still it's a fairly easy job, banshee's aer simple as hell, good luck ~Mark~
-
send me a PM, they're front shocks for a banshee i assume? what are they valved for and most important how much? Thanks ~Mark~
-
so is the chain...and the axle, there are MANY parts that come between the crank and your tires...don't buy a clutch until you get it apart is my advice, maybe the basket nut came off..there are many possibilities, usually you will feel a clutch slipping more and more..because it's a wear item, it usualyl doesn't just quit on you, it slowly wears down...good luck tho, take off the right side case first, then the flywheel side, flywheel, etc...and make sure everything looks ducky ~Mark~
-
do you mean a sway bar?? loom eup and decide if that's what u mean..with a sway bar you also need to run shocks FYI ~Mark~
-
do you have the kit that mounts to the bottom or top of the shock? in front i mean...i know the ones that change the top mount of the shock won't work on J arms..i ran into this problem a while back, possibly the ones that mount to the lower shock holes will work but i dunno...i guess it's a-arm conversion time... ~Mark~

96 Banshee rebuit topend in Pa 2000$
fast87 replied to Forsale96's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
still send NYUK a PM, he'll appreciate it...he buys every banshee in PA..well basically ~Mark~ -
use new pipes with stock silencers...for even more you could rig up a toomey hush kit om there, possibly weld it right to it since the tubes on the hush kit are steel and so are the stock silencers...first i'd go talk to your neighbors, it couldent hurt...mine ALWAYS called the cops on me when we first moved in...possibly it was because i had at times 5 2 stroke dirtbikes and my banshee rcin around the big track we built..lol they couldent do shit because it's our property, the minute i hit the street to another trail they called the cops tho...over time thye got over it, now i can do about anything i want and they never call the cops..includes drag racing on the road, numerous smokeshows in my mustang, etc...maybe i'm just a lucky guy..but seriousely talk to your neighbors, either they'll get more pissed or say they wont call em IF you ride slowly...try upshifting to 3-4th gear and bogging it to the riding spot..as long as its warmed up first it shouldent foul the plugs ~Mark~
-
hell yeah!! i saw that video n car&driver about a month ago and have been searching like crazy to find it, thanks!! if you register with the US(or any country) site you can build a completely custom atom, and upgrade everything, the most my buddy could spend on the options was about 70K, that's 300HP and upgraded everything!!nuckin futs..THAT is my dream car!!! and i know i'm not alone here ~Mark~

maybe wheel screws would help...my auto shop teacher uses them on his front engine dragster....basically you drill out the wheel and tire, (on a quad i would guess 10-20 per side), then stick in theses gnarly lookin wood screws, they go through the rim and pull the tire against it to prevent slippage...he says they dont go fully through the tire, just the bead so they don't leak air...i've seen a kit and the screws used aren't your average wood screw..check it out if you're bored...i think jegs or summit racing sells em ~Mark~
