  1. Do you have a higher output stator? if not you will need one.
  2. It is my understanding if you build a long stroker with a base plate and than port to that hieght you can't go back to a cut dome or it will drop all your porting. It would put all your lower port edges EX, Tranfers under your piston Bottom dead center hieght. Am I right ?
  3. I work the base plate and dome first than install the top. Gently is the key word.
  4. Why you need more weight? If you set them up right there is no need for it. My shee will run at 190degrees, Wide Ass Open Throttle is 3rd gear Climbing some of the steepest dunes in the USA, 10 runs of 8 second or so and Never even lose any water or get hotter than 190. and this is at 90+ Summer time temps.
  5. If you grease them up right they won't fall out. Unless you and fighting the head to get it down on the cyclinders.
  6. Well As far as price goes I got my swingarm From Andy Weeks and It only cost me 190 Shipped and is alot lighter than a stock one and 5 inches longer too. I all ready had a LSR alumiman carrier. It's not Chrome but it Is Strong as hell and Only wieghs in at 9.75 pounds. Question what make a Honda type Better?
  7. I bought a Grand River Racing swing arm in a 5 inch ext With the .085 wall chromoloy and Just plan love it strong as hell and for a great price too.
  8. The nut in question is a flange nut. and you use a flat washer with it. I would buy a new Yamaha nut and Torque it down. It won't come undone if you do.
  9. Some day i will get this Pasiion 12 port stroker rippen LIttle bit of a repost from the other thread. I been playing around with my pilots and started with the Stock size of 35 and worked down to 27.5 I am to lean and can't idle cruise about 1/16 throttle position i am going to 32.5 agian. I can't remeber how it ran with the 32.5's But 30 started to cracklin and 27.7 confrim it was worse so It looks like the Passion stroker with shearers will like a richer mix on my shee. On a 2nd note I installed a 270 main and bike pull alot better than 280 did. It's was over 90 degree in the desert too. but i feel a 260 would be better for the temp, with my combo of parts my range is looking like a 260 for Hot days and 290 for cold days. I go and pull my plug and Edit this later tonight. Locogato How is you jetting coming?
  10. Rebel Crackin to me is Lean in the Pilot jet. I been playing around with my pilots and started with the Stock size of 35 and worked down to 27.5 I am too lean and can't idle cruise about 1/16 throttle position i am going to 32.5 agian. On a 2nd note I installed a 270 main and bike pull alot better than 280 did. It's was over 90 in the desert too. but i feel a 260 would be better for the temp. with my combo of parts my range is looking like a 260 for Hot days and 290 for cold days. Pro quad I can't wait to here about some test you and Jim run.
  11. Yes brace the rod and I used a short 3/8 extension and tap one side until it clears the rod.
  12. My first thought was DG's before i started reading the rest of the thread. I had old school FMF hi rev's and they didn't look like them.
  13. The con rod journals are at 180 degree of each other. If you true them they are within .002 or less. Equal mass on both sides = balanced
  14. I tend to disagree with you. I think my Shearer work pretty damm good.
  15. It got worse screwed in. and better screwed out. But the plugs will get black at low speed crusie . Example. Rideing back to camp in the 5 mph zone 1/2 mile long. it does this cracklin type poping sound Not very loud tho. I will test the range next week. I am at a 30 pilot and i bought 27.5 and have 32.5 to I will test them Sunday I guess.
  16. If you like the Looks of the T6's and you are wanting a topend pipe Look at the Shearer Pipe and they Love porting, Cheaper than toomey T6 Rev higher than the T5 too.
  17. My old riding buddy Had a set of Fox air Forks on his 1980 Cr250 This stuff isn't new technology.
  18. No Not really. I am setting a bench mark with the 12port stroker,Jim never used the RS 34mm carbs on it. Very close right now working on getting the pilots jet size right. As far as the Shearer go I feel the same. Finish is in the lower 90. Fit was 98 because of my Noss head i dinged the inside of the pipe about the size of a Nickel to clear the head. ding was better than a hole. Craftmanship was in the mid 96 And perfromance was 98 so overall I give them 95+ They are a Very clean looking pipe I am glad I got them.
  19. Yeah our Shearer.
  20. SO how would you rate them On Fit,Finish,Craftmanship, and Preformance? scale of 100.
  21. Sredish I have question on jetting for you. I been trying to get my pilots right. But i have mix signals or I am Not as smart as I need to be. What does cracklin mean at 1/8 or less. Rich or lean? My Shee has 34mm Artic Cat roundslides on it and they had 35's pilots in them. I now have 30's. When i put the 30 in and set at 2 turn out it ran Ok until it got hot than it started to cracklin. at 3/4 in It started before it got warmed up almost.
  22. Shearer here. Dunedemon what are your jetting spec's and carb model and size?
  23. sometime you need to toot your own horn. 2nd post on this thread I posted and I still don't get any credit for my Knowledge.
  24. I have a 12 port stroker with Shearer Pipes. There is a pretty good spread choices. I think your fattys would have KILLER lowend and Midrange power. I would wait and test them out before a Spent Money. Jetted right Jim 12port stroker isSTRONG Edit Jetted right and Jims motor and high rpm style pipes like the shearer still pull hard on the lower half of the powerband but if it's not ..... I don't think you need a Top end pipe for mx or trails, Now Open terrian is another story.
  25. Dnoss what a Great Head. Thx. I just return from the St Anthony dunes was 95 degrees and was Hot a Fu** out there. I was running about 170 to 160 avg on the Banshee, your Head with Special Cuts are working great. I was One of the Fastest on the hill. On devils dune I did 3, 10+ second runs WOT in 3rd gear I hit 190 never got any hottert than that and this was a 12 Noon.
