mikuni's are way easier to dial in. i have setup a few bikes with both kehin and mikunis and i prefer mikunis.

the guy that did the testing had a banshee crank end set up on an angle grinder with a dial to controll the rpm's. all we tested was one stock setup and 1 pvl setup. for the testing to be acurate we need to test more stock units. the angle grinder would turn up tp 15,000 rpm's, well more than a banshee runs. but the stock ignition came off a running banshee so who knows.

i would stay away from christmas vally. that place is a waist if time compared to sandlake. but i am with mooney, go to florence.

on the stock ignition we tested, it showed at low rpm's it fired one cylender at a time on both sides, like its supose to. as the rpm's increased it would put the spark to one side only. a little higher in the rpm and it would go back to normal. and then again to one side at max rmp. after seeing that i dont think i would ever want a stock setup again. but we only tested one setup, could have only been that system that did it.

has anyone tested difrent ignition systems. i watched a builder test the pvl and the stock and found out some interesting things about the stog ign.

when you port an engine you loose compresion. you will have to check your compression after the port job. i had 17cc domes in my last motor and it had 160 lbs.

use an impact wrench.

most pipe companies leave out one step in the chroming process. if all the steps are done the pipes wont turn blue or brown.

check your nut on the end of the crank. it probably backed off and wore the water pump gear down causing the metal shavings. also check your side cover to see if the nut hit it to. and your drive gear for where it hit the clutch basket.

these a arms are in great shape and need no welding. i wouldnt trust a set of welded stock arms.

dont bore it unless you have to. you will not gain enough horsepower to waist all those bores. ONLY BORE IT IF IT IS NEEDED.
