The TORS is the 2 grey things on top of the carbs that prevents the throttle getting stuck wide open. The TORS elimination kit includes different carb tops and various lil things needed to get rid of them. They eventualy fail and make it run like crap ive been told, and they just get in the way so iam doing away with them.

Me and my dad found another place that would do it. $35 for boring on each side + like $200 for pistons and all that. Iam gonna have them put a TORS elimination kit on it when there at it so I should be able to get it all done for under $5-600 dollars compared to $700+ for a top-end alone. Gotta love stealerships huh? They wanted $48 to bore each side hehe.

Iam getting ready to rebuild my motor as well. Do you have to remove the carbs or will they hang there alright if I leave the airbox and all that on? Is there any way I can check to see if my crank needs rebuild/replaced without removing it? My dealer gave me an estimate of $700+ for a top end rebuild....needless to say Iam gonna try to do it myself. Goodluck Promod, let us know how it goes

Could be an air leak but no dirt could get in there. Its sealed up pretty good, white tape on it then rammed it on there tight then used zip ties to hold it down. But who knows, it is the left side after all with the problem. Hmm anything i need to know before taking the cylinders off? I wont be able to do it untill i have some money (after christmas) but just wanna be as prepared as possible. This realy sucks lol P.S.-How do you get the gas tank off? The frame keeps getting in the way and i cant pry it out

I got the stock white one I havent ridden it veyr much, maybe 5 hours since I got it so I hope the damage isent to bad. Wonder how much it will cost to get it rebuilt. I got the left TORS on with zip-ties so i gotta get a elimination kit for that and have it installed as well. ahh this just keeps getting better and better

Yeah i was wondering about the jetting. Its got the snorkel removed and a k&n but I dunno if its been jetted or not. I imagine it needs bored out more right? how much would ya recommend? its already .40 over the guy said.

Just did a compression test and the left side is 90psi and the right side is 111psi Means rebuild right? It was bored .40 over last summer the guy i bought it from said. I didnt think it would need rebuilt already... Hmm paying for a rebuild should be interesting....since I got $70 dollars to my name right now

When iam warming the shee up i usualy have to babysit it because it wont idle untill its warm, but I noticed if I give it some throttle than back off the left pipe would jump around and I could hear it wasent firing as much as the right side. So to test my theory I took the right side plug wire off when it was idling, motor died instantly. Did the same to the right, when I took the wire off the revs dropped (EDIT-But it kept running), so i gave it some throttle just to see and it revved up a bit like normal, unfortunetly my hand holding the plug wire was getting zapped at the same time so I had to shut her down It seems to run perfect once its good and warm, but its still a little un-nerving knowing its doing that. I plan on buying a TORS remove kit and having a 'tune up' done and having everything checked over but I wanna know if theres anything I can do. Iam doing a compression test tomorrow so well see what happends there. Sorry for writing so much, just thought I would be as descriptive as possible.

Ive seen some stock shees that have the exhaust tips removed on the silencers and was wondering why they remove them? Are there any advantages to taking them off and would the jetting have to be changed? Just curious

Ive been told that you just call the police and tell them you want to see if something is stolen or whatever then give them the number. Wonder if car-fax would work? I dont know if thats the way to do it or not, thats just what ive been told.

Mine did the exact same thing. I got the same mods as you except the pre-filter. I also might have boyesen reeds (dunno but the sticker says it does hehe). Mine would fire right up and run great the first few days i had it (when it was warmer out) but now (a few weeks later) it would foul plugs constantly, like i would have to clean and/or switch plugs 5-6 times to get it running. I heard that in the winter the air is thinner so it gets more air then when it is warm. Instead of doing the smart thing and rejetting like everyone else, I covered part of each side of the airbox hood thing with, you guessed it, duct tape! That restricted the air just enough (in theory) that now it idles fine, and dosent backfire hardly at all. I dunno if thats what fixed it for sure but iam just telling you my experience. I did this because my clymer manual isent here yet and i dont have jets. Can you say, redneck? EDIT-now that i re-read your post, mine would cut down on the smoking once it was warm and my gas millage wasent affected that I have noticed.

yeah i was looking at those on ebay. How does the +3+1 setup do? Dont seem to see to many of them around ive noticed. What do they look like 'bare'? Do you have to paint them or something to keep them from rusting or can ya just leave them bare? Later P.S.-Anyone know who makes a TORS elimination kit that is under $50 bucks? Dunno how much longer my zip-ties will hold
