  1. I have a Craftsman compression tester and it works fine. From what i understand is that as long as you can figure out the compression on both cylinders all you need to know is if there is a difference in compression or not to see if you need a top end rebuild.
  2. Pull it with a Banshee
  3. I did it with mine and raced it, and its holding up real well so far.
  4. Taking the snorkel off the air box lid is cheap.
  5. Actually I have taken my sled on a MX track so your wrong on that pointless statement. And you can take a sled through trails unless your an idiot who doesnt know how to ride. I'd love to see a quad go half the places i've gone on my sled. Maybe in NJ or Pennsy or some wheres south, i'd get the banshee snow ready but up here theres no getting the quads out, unless they are 4x4 with really good tires or a track kit. Why get a quad ready for winter when you could just get a sled. You have to rejet and get the tires and all that prepared for snow when you could just start up a sled and rip on it.
  6. duh shithead. get a K&N. its soooo much easier, just turn it to jet it. Yea but i kinda dont like the idea of having it exposed to water and all that. The trails and stuff i ride around here can get pretty damn wet.
  7. I let my moron friend ride our TRX300 one day and he as the moron he is decided that it was a motocross machine. He his this jump with it and the back end swung out and it nose dived, then he flipped it and bent the upper and lower a-arms and debeaded the rear tire and may have bent it, he still hasnt said anything about it or offered to fix it at all when i told him that it was bent and shit Then he wants to ride my banshee but i usually just tell him no.
  8. I just relocated my keyswitch under the handle bars on the tank cover. It looks like its suppose to be there. I'll post some pictures when i get them uploaded.
  9. It was like 10 bucks and came with an O-ring, a steel ball, the screw and a spring.
  10. I just got the cascade kicker rebuild, and it seems to work pretty well. I also greased it real well too i think that grease should make it last longer so make sure you grease it up good.
  11. I had a hell of a time getting that damn adaptor on!!! what i did was dremmel out the front of the front mounting tabs so i could slide the air box in from the back. It seems to work all right but i've had to take it apart to install reeds and what a pain in the ass. Then since i had to file down around the carb it made it sharper so it cut that damn o-ring. It all boils down to poor engineering. I put some silicone around the adaptor just incase it wasnt sealed good enough. BTW im running bills pipes, v-force reeds, k&n and no snorkel. Does 52 pilot, 188 main, and 2nd from top clip position sound right?? it seems to run strong mid to high end, but the power still aint there on the very low end.
  12. I would put a lot of coats on the bottom ones, I painted mine and it looked great but after riding over rocks and logs and stuff it scratched the paint real good, i dont know what kinda riding you do so i could be wrong.
  13. I would go with D, it seems a bit simpler and is probably easier to clean.
  14. never heard of that but http://www.sandwizards.com/ has some awesome videos.
  15. If your worried about mud dont cut them, i have cut fenders and get quite muddy but i dont care. It looks trick and helps in mx.
  16. Right on!!! Rather than powering yourself into trees you'd have the handling to go around em
  17. Update, i just got race fuel and it still dies down. It seems to run real strong and revs nice but then when i rev it high a little it just kinda cuts out. So my guess is i frigged somethin with the electrical when i put the gas tank back on but went through and i dont see any shorts so this is starting to frustrate me. I just hope i can get the thing going by this weekend so i can ride. has anyone ever had it die on them after installing heads because im not sure if thats the cause or if its the electrical??
  18. Right on man!!!! I will never go back to the stock carbs, anything is better than those hunks of shit. I've had so much trouble with my throttle sticking on those things. Single carb is way easier to tune also, the air box adaptor is kind of a pain in the ass though
  19. I would invest in some FMF Q silencers and some gnarlies or fatties. I think those pipes would suit you well since you ride trails. The gnarlies will give you more bottom end power and have similar or more then stock top end from what i understand. https://www.fmfracing.com/products/catalog....?CategoryID=101 Thats the gnarlies https://www.fmfracing.com/products/catalog....?CategoryID=113 And those are the Q silencers which are said to be at 96 DB which is us forest legal or something like that. https://www.fmfracing.com/products/catalog....0&ItemID=020145 Fatties http://www.duncanracing.com/atvproducts/index.phtml?id=1 PTR mids You may also be able to fit the stock silencers on aftermarket pipes, you probably wont see as big of a combination as a silencer/pipe package, but you will still see power increases.
  20. OK thanks for the info!! I guess it woulda helped it i had it on a stand also but i was afraid to run it without any tranny oil while the cover was off. I guess that can be my new weekend project or when ever i get some free time.
  21. I've had the same problem for a while but just kinda ignored it. I tried adjustign it but its a pain in the ass to take the cover off and on to adjust then test it out. I got it to not roll at one point but then the clutch slipped bad, so i readjusted it and now it rolls again!! Just wondering what you did to fix it??
  22. THats awesome because there is a local airport about 5 miles from here!!! thanks a lot for the help, i hope i can git r runnin right, i didnt hear any pinging so i dont think i had any detonation problems yet but i dont want to risk it.
  23. Amsoil smells pretty awesome, bel ray doesnt smell the greatest though.
  24. My key switch aint mounted on the handle bars just the tether switch, i thought that could be the problem but then i cut the 2 wires and it still stalled. It stalls when i rev it up high then it just kinda dies, im not sure how the heck it happens but i guess tommorow ill figure it out when i have the energy to get off the couch.
