Its all in the setup. I took mine up against anything in the trails and hung like nobodys business. Never met a 450 in the trails though but I'd bet I could have hung. You have to build your bike and motor to your riding style. If your riding trails you want low-mid you dont need top end. T-5s are mid-top with a light switch powerband. Get something with a smoother pull. I always recommend the 2 into 1 pipes alongside a 2 into 1 carb with an mx type porting. If you can afford it a big bore kit will complete the total lowend grunt package. Oh and you have to be half assed in shape enough to be able to throw the bike around. Being as I have to carry 40# extinguishers up and down stairs walk 50-100yds with them I have the endurance and upper/lower body strength to manipulate the bike how I want.

Stats can be made to read anything you want. Figure if there are 100 cars on the road 20 years ago. 5 of those 100 got in wrecks thats a 5% accident rate. Now 20 years later theres 10,000 cars on the road an 400 have been in accidents thats a 4% accident rate. When you showup for your trespassing citation, the officer that issued it is gonna have to be there obviously. So when you are up in front of the judge explain politely to the judge that the officer refused to asisst you in retrieving your stolen 400ex which was a felony offense, being as it was worth more than $5000. When the officer commited derrilect of duty<sp?> you had to retrieve the equipment yourself rather than watch some lowlife get away with the theft of your personal property that you bought and paid for with your hard earned money. Any respectful judge will drop the citation.

How well does it idle? THat low end bog may be from it being lean on the pilot some. Although depending on your jet settings it may be rich. Need some more info there.

its not gonna hurt it to start it with cold oil sheesh man its not a diesel. Our boss at the mill has one they do have block heaters in them just can't remember off hand where it gets plugged in as I never plug the damned thing in. newer vehicles run a lighter oil anyway which would make it run fine in the cold. Technically you are able to turn it on, let it sit for ~30sec to get the oil to the top, than drive off. I would go over 2500-3000 rpms before its nice and warmed up though.

Logan the 2 into 1 makes the powerband hit almost non-existant. great for tight woods riding. What you lose on the top in speed and such you can makeup for easily with just going up to a 15t front. I run the 2-1 pipe and carb I can run circles around a co-workers neighbor running T-5s. its almost like he's riding a blaster . Now with my -2 swinger I can't wait to get back in the woods. Edit* Man I've had it with the closest yamaha shop, calling me stupid for running the 2-1carb first, now calling me completely ignorant for running a 2-1 pipe.
