  1. I got away with 185.00 for a full set with 20x9's on the back. Gotta love those little girls that work at Champion Honda! The fronts bite very well and on a steep hill I thought it was easier to whip the bike around and keep the front planted and pivot it around, get the stars
  2. sandstars all the way...I am really impressed with them
  3. I run UNI pods with outterwears and it works great, but I do clean my bike and filters after EVERY ride, no matter how dirty they get. I have never ran K&N on any bike I have owned, just my cars and trucks. I custom made an intake with a big uni filter on the end of it for my toyota pickup, my friends all get a kick out of it. I have herd that the foam will filter alot better than paper, and I dont wanna take any chances with my motor.
  4. powerplus @ 50:1
  5. Sixxer rack with a little walmart igloo cooler, holds 6 of your favorite brews, or a big gatorade. They also sell a factory yamaha fender bag that I saw for the first time on my neighbors utility quad. Cool little pouch rivited to the front fender...looked like a good set up for tireplugs, sparkplugs ect. I was gonna pick one up till I wacked my fenders off
  6. fill up 64 oz big gulp cups, electrical tape the lids on and throw em in the can down the street in front of the guys house that calls the cops on me everytime I fire up my bike. Then call Captin Planet on his bitch ass.
  7. old buggies and rails are abondunt here in AZ, it seems that everyone has one in there back yard collecting dust. My friend and I built an 1835 from scratch and ebay, it was a good strong motor running 10.5:1 compression. This is a good cheap route to go on a motor that can be turboed for bout 900.00. with a low ratio bus trans they will get up and go. The frame we had was a sand limo squirt frame that was about 8 bills. We put the motor in his parents buggy to test it out at the cinders, 15 mins later a rod was sticking out of the case I guess it didn't surprise us being the first vw motor we had ever messed with. I had a 99 pontiac grand prix GTP with a supercharged 3.8 liter that I blew a piston on, I replaced it with a new motor and sold the old motor to a friend that cleaned it up and put a new piston in it, this motor was making a solid 280 horse @ 11 lbs of boost. He would prolly sell you this motor for next to nothing if you are intrested. It dynoed at well over 300 lbs of torque, and would make for one wheelie happy rail.
  8. factory yamaha PIAAS
  9. I flipped my stockers around and went o0ut last weekend, didn't really notice any difference. You have to drill new valve stem holes on the fronts to flip em cause they'll hit the calipers.
  10. San Marcos Road, its 2 blocks from my house and you can get 5 or 6 runs in before the cops get called. We try to drag at least once a week
  11. I would have Ken do your porting @ Kenz cycle tech, I have heard good things about D&M but never ridden one of there bikes. Most of my buddies are ported by Ken and they rock. Now is a good time to do it, round September he is booked up and it takes a while to get your jugs back. Good Luck!
  12. will a bike even run that high??
  13. Good to hear you had a good time, I am so pissed I couldnt do it, the even worse part is I was in Vegas on Bizness and only bout an hour and a half away! Once you get in a giant sandbox like Dumont or any of the Imperial Dunes you will have wet dreams of ripping across the dunes, it's like crack. Post up some pics guys
  14. 87 here today, yeaaaa! I could go without Summer for a couple years
  15. Mine bogs a bit right before the transition into the powerband. I didn't know if my jetting was spot on or if this was normal, my neighbor whos pretty good with jetting sez I should drop the needles down a spot to lean out the transition. I will try this and report back. I'm not sure if what you are describing is the same as what my bike does but it sounds the same. It tends to bog out right after you lay into it. I have toomeys, uni-pods with outterwears, 330 mains, stock needles and pilots.
  16. ya I would love to put a rear shock on with the fronts but damn they are spensive! I think I will have my stocker rebuilt with gold valves and put a correct spring on it for my fat ass, that should get her done.
  17. I talked to Eric this morning and he knows whats up with shocks fo show! He lectured me on what I really needed and recommended I go with the non-adjustable non-rezzies that are $515.00. For my dune riding and desert balling he said they will be more than enough to handle it. Thanks for giving me his name I think without the middle man It will get done right the first time. Now I just have to wait for all my goodies to get here I just want to sit in front of my bike and stare at the new stance while I drink beer
  18. Thanks for the info guys, I will going with the elkas no matter what.. If I have some extra cake when I order them next week I might sport the remote rezzies for the bling effect, I love the way they look. I will call Eric tommorrow and set it up. The arms are getting powder coated yamaha blue tops and bottoms, I cant wait to strap em on!
  19. I am having Gary at quicksand whip me up a set of +2+1's right now, but I am kind of having a problem choosen shocks. I e-mailed this guy on ebay who is selling the deul rate elkas without rezzies for 525.00 shipped, he wants 739.00 shipped for the same shock with remote rezzies. My roomate has works tripples w/o rezzies with lonestar race arms and has had pretty good results with em. I want to know how much better the shocks with rezzies are compared to shocks without. Like would a works set up with rezzies be a better choice than elkas without? Or are the elkas going to outperform the works altogether? Just wanted to get some outside opinions before I order. Thanx
  20. 7 mill and counting! Ive shot a 93 at TPC in real life, I love that course.
  21. my stock shee pulled 76.2 on gps and I weigh 270 lbs, maybe the air in Italy sucks, and doesnt let your bike rev out
  22. lol, reminds me of the time I armoralled my steering wheel before going 4wheelin..fun time that was
  23. that is a good oil at a good ratio, thin out your mains and do a plug check to see where your at.
  24. I'd have to recomend the DMC 2-1 pipes, they sound awsome, bark outta the hole, and look cool as chit... me being a toomey guy I really think the top end leaves alot to be desired on the bike I rode with these pipes. It seemed to fall off kinda fast and not howl out more power higher in the upper revs like most other shees I've rode. I like the idea more of getting a 2-1 carb set up and bumpin compression up a notch to boost the low end, but I haven't got that far with my bike yet. Let us know how you like what you get.
