  1. My step son cartwheeled my banshee this weekend and damaged a bunch of stuff Anyway, I'm looking to buy an axle possibly on Ebay. Will any axle for a banshee fit any year banshee? I have an 1989 and I believe the carrier is stock. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
  2. It's for my wife, she's too wimpy to pull my Banshee clutch Hopefully within 500 miles of Denver, CO. Thanks
  3. Now I'm torn between... I'll probably have to wait until the last day I'm out there just in case. The crank is not welded, and I actually just advanced the timing so I'll have to retard it again and put in my larger jets. I'm not sure what the shot is set up for, what do you mean by that? the pressure, the volume discharged, the bottle size, what? Thanks guys!
  4. RZ are you pretty savvy on NOS? If so I may have to track you down and have you take a look at it just to see what you think. I don't have the money for the whole forged pistons, welded crank, lockup clutch etc. I do have a fuel pump hooked up in line and everything, and running 290's for jets. So if it's really that serious I may not even use the NOS. DAMN!! Thanks man!
  5. I have a 89 shee, bought it w/NOS kit installed. Never used the NOS yet but previous owner has. Started checking into motor/carb/crank condition etc. and they had this shee set up like CRAP! I now have it running perfect, starts on first kick, fast as hell! Ported polished, wiseco pistons, cool head, bored over, dual K&N filters, boyesen reeds. I re-wired and plumbed the NOS and rigged a good switch inside the twist throttle for NOS activation. NOW, I'm ready to hit the switch, but after reading a posting that talks about needing forged pistons and welded crank and all kinds of other stuff. SHOULD I EVEN THINK ABOUT HITTING THE "BUTTON"??? I want to use it but don't want to blow my motor, planning a 5 day camping/riding trip soon. Thanks for the help. Tate
  6. I pulled my reeds & cages out last night so I can replace the reeds, (never have, think it's about time) the cages seem to be in almost perfect condition but the reeds definitely gap more than 10 thousanths inch. Question: I don't know the brand of the cages or the reeds, they appear to be aftermarket. They are dual stage reeds. Will any general brand fit most cages or do you have to go with specifics? Thanks

Anyone know a good website for cool looking flags?? Thanks
  9. That's interesting because it really does seem to run a LOT better on the race gas than it does with the 91 though. I'll have to do some experimenting, hopefully you are correct and I just need a better setup with jets and domes, that would save me a lot of money in gas, especially with our expected $3. p/gallon this summer! thanks Tate
  10. Yeah, you don't want to get stuck in a hole and have to dig out! You'll be gasping for air. Cool, thanks for the input. I have a 89' shee and would like to maximize the responsiveness, right now it seems to hesitate just a little, not snappy revs like the new shee's. I usually run 110 octane. Thanks
  11. Hell yeah it runs that high, I live in Colorado. The nearest place to ride is the Walden sand dunes. Usually about 1000-2000 people up there on Memorial day weekend!! They run pretty damn good, oviously not as good as Glamis but good enough for when you don't live in Cali.
  12. Need advise: Anyone have a good suggestion for a starting point to set up the following at 8200 ft. altitude, considering current mods: Mods: Drag pipes, cylinders bored twice, wiseco pistons, ported & polished, cool head, K&N dual filters, NOS (never used, yet), race gase & plugs, Boost bottle, (yes or no). Setup?: Jet Size? Dome Size? Thanks for any help Tate Wood
  13. I have a twist and like it, but I ride sport bike also, just used to it. Never tried thumb but got a little scared away from it when a friend hit a tree and popped his thumb clear out of it's socket. We had to pop it back in! Found out later that he ripped a tendon and some other connective tissue. He couldn't ride for almost a year!!!!
