  1. It's obvious you must make a LOT more money than I do...I wish I could spend 600 bucks a month on riding trips, that's over a quarter of what I make in a month. I only wish this trip would cost me 300 bucks, I wouldn't even be second guessing it.
  2. The R6 is probably all the power I'd ever need, but the R1 is so... That black and yellow is sick
  3. Yeah, if it stays at 3.50 a gallon or gets any higher my chances of making it are slim to none. I just don't have that kind of cash right now with all that's been going on at my house....if the prices drop back down in the 2 dollar range, I should be good to go Funny you mentioned getting a bike, I'm thinking of trading my Honda prelude for a Yammy R1
  4. Yep...
  5. Yeah, I know....tell me about it. That 525 is if the gas prices stay the same, if they go up to 4.50 a gallon, I'm looking at 675, and at 5.00 a gallon I'd be spending 750 in gas.
  6. You can't put a price on the lives of soldiers defending our country...so therefore whatever you figure will be inaccurate.
  7. LOL, I know which post you're talking about...maybe we should have been a little clearer on the answer. Yes, you can put it any kind of banshee (mx, drag, whatever) but it is pointless unless you're pushing some serious HP. If you want to get the lockup to cover up an existing problem I suggest you don't get one. I'd be willing to bet that if you bought a new clutch and adjusted it properly you wouldn't have any clutch issues. Don't waste your money on one unless you REALLY need one. The ONLY reason I got one is because of the power I'm running and the giant meats for tires that I have to turn over.
  8. That's my only concern right now. Our van gets 8 miles to the gallon (at best) and we'd be driving a little over 1200 miles roundtrip. Price and availability is the ONLY thing that would keep me from going. At 3.50 a gallon that would put me at spending 525 bucks just in gas for the van, not including the 10 gallons of race fuel and 10 gallons of reg for the 450, camping fees, food, etc... I'm playing it by ear right now, the freakin govt needs to get the prices down and the availability up...Over half of Memphis is without gas right now
  9. That's nuts, I was thinking the EXACT same thing. I mean, I know it WAS people's home, etc. but come on, rebuilding it would not be worth the hassle involved. It would be better to just help these people relocate and start a new life in a place that's not so "disaster prone". I personally would rather donate the money to help someone move and settle elsewhere than to donate towards rebuilding a city that's been COMPLETELY destroyed. We'll just have Mardi Gras in Memphis on Beale St.
  10. It's bad here too in Memphis, I watched the arabs at the quicky mart put up the 3.39 a gallon signs last night. I saw something on the news where Atlanta's gas prices were over 5 dollars a gallon I know the cost of living is higher there but DAMN If the prices and availabilty don't get better in the really near future, I may not be able to afford to drive 1200 miles in a van that gets 8-10 miles to the gallon for the LS trip
  11. I wanted to put some hooptie plastics on my banshee to make people think it's not fast... j/k I've got some ideas running through my head for some custom plastics, don't want to spend 500 bucks on fullbores and then have those painted...I got a few tricks up my sleeve for a paint job, just need the plastics to get started
  12. I just painted my cases and we used a high heat engine paint. Didn't do anything special to the cases, just mask off anything you don't want to get paint on...turned out pretty good.
  13. I'm looking for an old set of plastics. Color is not a concern, they will be for a project I'm thinking of doing and they will be painted anyhow. I'd prefer it if they had no cracks, or if they are cracked, depending on where it is I may still want them. If anyone has an old beat up set laying around that wants to get rid of them, please let me know as well as how much.
  14. But I thought you said she hung up on you when you called back? Dude, face it, they are not going to send you your money back, post his info, let someone from the HQ that's nearby help you out.
  15. LMAO, that's some funny shit right there
  16. Try cleaning your air filter and see if that helps. If you run an outerwear it could be clogged with dirt.
  17. Agreed^^^^^^ Depending on what kind of portwork you want, expect to pay between 250 and 500 bucks, and that does not include the cost of pistons.
  18. LOL, I knew you'd be looking for one before too long!!! Glad to hear the good review!!!
  19. Is there any kind of aftermarket ignition on it? I had a friend of mine had a similar issue and his ignition box was acting flaky causing it not to start.
  20. I do the same exact thing! As long as you let off the gas a little when you shift (or just pull the clutch in a little bit) you'll be fine. Whenever I race I never let off the gas though, I just pull the clutch in enough to disengage, shift, and let the clutch back out all in one motion...helps keep the RPM's up too Welcome to the forums!!!!!!
  21. That's why you just drive to my place and we'll throw your 450 in the back of our 16 footer and we drive on up together (1 vehicle)
  22. My friends and I have been wanting to go to this place, it's about a 2.5 hour drive for us...we talked about going sometime in the fall, maybe we could meet up there and ride for a day http://www.143offroad.com/
  23. H......Q......RIDE!!!! A little over a month to go!!!
  24. Most of it...there might be a little coolant left in the engine if you don't pull the plug on the jugs....I've always just pulled the rad. hose from the radiator itself and the return hose coming from the water pump cover and hadn't had a problem in 2 years. You'll see the fluid pour out of the head too.
