  1. Let's talk SIDI. Anyone see the review for the SIDI Vortex Evo in the ATV Sport mag a few issues ago? They look like really good boots and according to the review are great for quad riders due to the way it flexes a tad more for moving around the quad, unlike a bike. I was thinking of trying them, either them or the Tech 6's. Tech 8's are just too much dough for this white boy.
  2. can you guys link to em? wait, maybe i don't wanna see em.
  3. Yeah, I know. I really didn't think it would come down to that weekend, I was pretty sure the 2nd season, which is before the trip, would be the one. It could still fall through tho, one's not sure if he can get the time off.
  4. Well, now there's a 3rd season elk hunt in CO that might get in the way. I guided elk hunts for awhile, love to hunt them, but don't feel the need to shoot at them that much, so guiding worked well for me. Anyways, my two buds wanna go and I told them to pick the dates and I'm there. Well, it's now resting on Nov. 1-7 and Oct. 21 - 26, and I have this nagging feeling they're shooting for the latter. If they choose that date, I have to go. So, one weekend, a race, a dune trip with the bros, and an elk hunt, what the hell!!! Not too mention the elk hunt is out of my hometown of Steamboat, CO, and I have lots of buds there, my favorite place in the world. Decisions decisions...
  5. We are all turning into a bunch of woosies...
  6. i have +2/ +1 Lonestars with Elka piggybacks in front, and a Durablue 2+2 rear with an Elka rezzie in back. Plain and simple, it rocks. The only real variable for handling quality is the shock setup. +1 is +1 but the way the shock is setup will make all the difference. You can have an Elka not vavled or setup properly for your weight and riding style that plain sucks and have a Works that is setup correctly that rocks. So, spend the money you feel is appropriate and be sure to disuss how the shock will be setup for you. What's better, is if you change your style, or want to change the spring rate at a later date, like I did, you can get the springs for under $40 straight from Elka and change them in less than 1 minute a shock. I'm really happy with my Elka setup, works great for me. I have the stock swingarm, but I've been wanting to try a -1 or -2. txblueshee and I are gonna experiment with cutting one down in the next week or so. We'll see what happens.
  7. did someone say "nipples"??

  10. yea, fro's is nice and i don't imagine i really want to part with mine all that much. i really need two quads... DAMMIT!!
  11. with the newer 6.0s, the computer will never know the module is there because it alters the signal after the computer. with the older 7.3s, the chip actually altered the computer itself and it'd throw a code. the only way a dealer can tell if a module is in the 6.0 is if they see it or you tell em. Rule of thumb = find out how your dealer feels about chips/modules/etc., some are totatlly against and others have no prob with them. My local dealer is more impressed with my truck than scared to work on it. if I have a problem, no questions, they look at it and diagnose as normal. if it's not the chip's problem, then there's no issue. In fact, once, i was tinkering with my electrical, trying to make a homemade idle control and fried my computer when i hooked up the power. towed it in, and he's like "wink wink", your computer failed, don't know why, "wink wink". Not saying they'll normally do that, but ask around and talk to different dealers and find one that is more friendly to diesel mods, they're out there. Other dealers won't touch the truck if they know it's been modded, or some will just say, oh it's the chip that's doing it, when it's freaking dumping coolant on the ground or something ridiculous.

  16. Nah, I found a badass Z400 I want. It's all setup suspension and engine the way I want. This dude wanted a shee and I figured WTF. I'm not actively selling, but I'm considering it, if I could get this Z anyway. Dunno. I want them both really.
  17. I've got 5 G's just in aftmkt shit alone. In fact, I'll throw in my barely used paddles on Douglas black labels.

  20. glitter paint? on the plugs?
  21. The newer trannies behind the 6.0 and durapuke are so computerized, it often takes quite a few miles or a battery reset to get the modules to control the tranny correctly. I did go through that with my pickup, not once, but twice and dang near everytime I throw in a different module or programmer. I do feel that the Diablo setup is probably more friendly to the "backyard brotha", less to worry about and probably put together a little better and control the tranny better, but I can get more power from Edge and once "learned", the tranny isn't really an issue. Soon, I"m gonna be stacking the Edge module with the Diablo programmer, running the Edge on a lower setting and cranking the Diablo all the way up and run some tests. I know there's quite a few peeps that are doing this at the strip already. Gotta love diesels, so simple, yet so damn strong. I just need some 4.10 gears and some 37"s. Boonman, when you gettin here to help me swap my gears.
  22. yea, it's cool. me neither.
  23. I'm not saying your wrong, but I haven't experienced any of those issues with the Edge products, however, I don not deal with Duramaxes at all. Just not many around here. My truck has zero smoke. I mean, zero. If I want a little, I can pump up my low-boost fuel and get some when I first stomp it, but it clears up. I can slam it in my high setting and hit the governor at 100 and never go over on my EGT's and if I did for some reason, it will back the fuel off just enough to keep my EGT's safe. I have no doubt your friends and family have good luck with Banks, their products do perform. Oh well, not to drag this thread on. Everybody has their own views and there's nothing wrong with that, and I wouldn't be embarassed to have Banks on the side of my truck. However, I do fight a budget with most things, truck and shee included, and I feel I can get more for my money elsewhere. If a person was to ask me about Banks, I'd say they have a good product. I'm the kind of person anyway, who will try something for 6 months, then rip it out and try something else, well, in regards to my truck anyway. Cool, check ya later.
