  1. A-Arms are sold. Still have Spindles and Tie Rods. Let me know on them. Spindles - $55 each or $100 for the pair shipped. Good deal people. Tie Rods - $30 for the pair
  2. We're all gonna die!!!
  3. hmm, if that's your only mods, and you need 400s to get a decent run, then it sounds like you just might have an air leak. In fact, a lot are running some decent porting and are only hittin 380 mains. I'd fire her up and take some carb cleaner, and spray the piss out of your intake boots and manifolds and shit. You probably have a leak somewhere from taking it apart or something. You should be around the 300 mark you first mentioned, and in a worst-case, I've seen 330s with similar mods, but 400's are quite large.
  4. I'd try some 27.5s or maybe even 30s and see how they work. That might give you the fix.
  5. Sounds about right. Poor kids and they're uneducated ways....
  6. Walt, bring it down to Tx and mine can keep it company. Oh yea, I'll make sure she stays exercised for when you come to ride it. The plastic alone is probably worth the value of most plain banshees. i'd hate to see you piece it out, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
  7. Engine Ice would sure look good in a cocktail glass with ice.
  8. I don't think it's so bad they're expecting the whole world to be engulfed as we often visualize. But they did evacuate the immediate areas around it, saying, "Government scientists raised the alert level Saturday for Mount St. Helens after its second steam eruption in two days was followed by a powerful tremor. They said the next blast was imminent or in progress, and could threaten life and property in the remote area near the volcano." That's a direct copy from CNN. But, like you said CEJ, those desk jockies don't know squat!
  9. You might try a DEK needle instead of a DEL. That will richen up just off idle to 1/4 throttle. Then you could lean your pilot a touch and maybe eliminate your smoking while maintaining your 1/8th and up response. Just a thought.
  10. More or less, you'll just jet it for ease of starting and idling. The rule of thumb I use to begin with is if you can start it cold without the choke, then it's too rich, if you need the choke to start it when it's hot, then your lean. You should have to use the choke to cold start and not need it when it's warm. Pilot jetting is somewhat trial and error. Smoking isn't necessarily something to go by. Mine smokes like a hippie when I first start it, after 6 or 7 minutes it'll clear for the most part. If it never ever clears at idle, then you may want to investigate. You can let it idle for like 5 minutes and then kill it and check the plug. If it's loaded with oil and looks like it's starting to buildup you might lean it out one size and then recheck. Hope that helps.
  11. well, they're evacuating the area...
  12. Aaaah, the sound of a turbo diesel, the way they're supposed to sound. Yea, that thing has more turbo whine than anything I've ever heard, and I like it!! Thanks that's my other money pit. After I got home from RR, I put in a new monitor system that plugs to the computer and controls my boost, low boost fueling, overall fuel delivery, I can set it to back off at certain EGT levels, I can control the smoke. It adds another level to my power module and is super trick looking, all digital. It's only money! Where were you? I saw another banshee with a raptor i guess, but didn't seem like they were expecting anyone. Yea, I met up with Chris, definitely a cool guy, glad we got to spin some rubber. It was pretty muddy in parts, not the nasty goo, just chunky wet. My machine is pretty dirty, but that's what they're for, and Chris's looks too nice to get that dirty, but he was workin on it as well. There definitely is some rocky parts. I try not to go there more than 3 times a year, I don't necessarily dislike it, but there's other places that are better. Haven't been to Rip Char before, we're talking about meeting up there sometime and maybe a weekend trip to Lake Murray. I live close enough to go up there ride and come home, but Chris and his bro were talkin about campin the night if they go, and I might camp there also if they do that. Cool, too bad I didn't catch ya, certainly next time.
  13. Just wonderin if anyone was around that area. They're saying it's getting serious.
  14. My drink of choice over all else, but if I start on them, someone has babysit me cause I turn into a devil, is a "Kamikaze on the rocks". 1.5 ounce of vodka (Belvedere or Chopin preferably) 1 ounce of Triple Sec .5 ounce of lime juice splash of sweet & sour splash of sprite (for fizz factor) Very good lime summer drink and the vodka isn't noticed, but will get you drunk very quickly cause it's so easy to drink, well, I'm usually a little heavier on the vodka, i like to be able to smell it...
  15. Needles don't cost very much, but you don't want to just buy a bigger needle, in fact you don't buy a bigger needle. You buy a needle with certain characteristics to "assist" certain parts of the ciruit. For instance, I needed more fuel in the 3/4 to Full throttle I needed the transition to come on sooner and I did NOT want to affect the other circuits, so I got a needle with a steeper taper only, everything else is the same. If you think you need more fuel in a certain area, then talk to someone or go to sudco and look at the needle specs and pick one out that will help you with the area that needs help. Chances are, if it's running good now, you might just try moving the clip as the weather gets colder. It doesn't hurt anything to try it now, I mean, put them in the 5th clip and if it gets sputtery then you know it's not necessary. It's all trial and error. I was hoping that the needle would help me, but wasn't sure. Only one way to find out and it turned out for the best, but it could've gone either way.
  16. Dude, we have no idea of your mods... I could assume pipes and filter. But then, you could have one of a million things. 400s are pretty large, if it ran better then you needed more fuel for the air mixture, so you either are flowing a lot of air, have a good leak, or aren't getting enough air velocity through your carb to pull the fuel out of the jet. Get back on mods and all for us to get a better idea. Running a plug check will tell you how good that jet is for your current setup.
  17. Glad you found it. Funny how stupid we can be. I put my new needle in the other day. Backed the quad out of the shop and fired her up. She wound up like she was lean, or runnin out of fuel, you know how shee can do that. I checked that the petcock was on, yes it was. Checked that the inline filter had fuel in it, yep full. So, I'm like WTF now! Well, I pull a plug and look to see for the hell of it. Put it back in, now only one's firing. DAMN!! What is happening to my machine. So, i'm pissed. I get in there, and discover that I forgot to tighten the intake boot on the motor side of the carb after I had swapped out the main jet. Lean problem fixed. Still runnin on one cylinder. Shit, I forgot to put the plug boot back on after I checked it. Shit happens, glad you get her figured. I can run mine on the 5th clip in winter, but not in summer. She likeys the fuely.
  18. use heat. also, a big ass wrench can be good and if all else fails, air hammer that f*cker, nuthin gets past the air hammer.
  19. Glad to hear you made it man. Yea, people are fucking crazy to be living with any more than 10 people per square mile.

    A arms

I have the stockers off of my '02 in perfect condition. I'll sell you them for $100 shipped.
  21. Actually the straight diameter is the same, but the taper is steeper (D = 1* 45*, and an E = 2* 00*), so at the start of the taper, they're both the same and the farther down it goes, the thinner it gets. Rode again today, with Banshee76179 and one of his buds, and didn't put in a 205, left it at 200. She ran great. Seemed to be stronger overall and it's hard to believe that it can pull that damn hard. It pulled hard before, but it's even harder now. So, I'm happy about that. As the temps start to drop, I'm sure I'll be giving a 205 a chance tho. Had a good, but short, ride with B76179, I had to split early to go pick up my son. I rode for a couple hours, or just short of, before they got there, and we took a couple short rides, then I was gone. Fun though, and there were some muddy spots as it's been raining.
  22. Sounds like it could be a pilot but most likely a needle issue, but not a main issue, if it's right when you hit it. What pilots are you running and where's your needle? Put it in the 4th clip down (from the top / blunt end). Here's a chart that shows what carb circuit affects what what throttle position.
  23. I'll vouch for this dude. I've completed a transaction with him and it was handled great and I received the item very quickly with no probs.
  24. Man, I'm sorry, don't know what Anerobic sealer is. I've always used the grease method and it's worked fairly easily. Who is the mfg of the head? I guess I don't really have any other tips/info, I just grease them liberally, and put it together slowly and tighen everything up systematically. You might try giving Dave a call at NossMachine.com and see what he has to say, he might have some ideas or a different way to approach it. Good luck.
  25. PRM. Bar none. Best bumpers, skids, and grab bars.
