  1. sand stars are way too heavy. i'm for the super light drag type straight paddles... and i use shark fin fronts... the multi-rib; good turn but not grabby.
  2. so what route are you people going with now for extra juice?
  3. They are some good people but a set of chrome Paul Turners OTD are nearly $1,000..... how does that compare to FMFs and Toomeys.... My PT Highs I just bought were $970.
  4. what are you going to shine the light on?
  5. Duncan has them in stock ready to ship at a moment's notice... but big money. used is a good way IF you can find a set. good luck. you could find them today or you could wait for months before you see any.
  6. IMO, you can't beat either of the Paul Turner pipes. There's a reason they're so damned expensive. PT Highs are better and smoother than Toomeys. They have better top end, IMO, more midrange and develop power smoother. The PT Mids are unbeatable. They have crazy lowend and midrange, super super smooth and are perfect for mx and trails. If you can afford the PTs, get the one that matches your style and don't look back. I personally do not like Toomeys at all, I can think of several other pipes I'd run before Toomeys, for sure.
  7. yea, no prob Bob. Thanks for the werd!
  8. Can someone give me the torque specs for the cylinder and head bolts? No longer have a manual.
  9. you need to find out what's in the carb. what needle ,what main jet, etc. is it a flat boggy feeling? might try raising the needle a clip to see if it helps. let us know what's in there.
  10. I actually remember thinking that +7 was a little bit snappier than the +4, seemed to like it better. now, with the milled head, i'll probably stay at 4, but i will try 7 again.
  11. 190s a no go. 290s, probably close. check cable, as mentioned. check fuel petcock, running out of fuel or slow fuel flow from the tank can cause that. check for an air leak at the reeds or intake area.
  12. another "tailgate left down with ratchet straps holding it in" guy here...
  13. Stock bore/stock stroke FMF Fattys or Paul Turner Mids (depending on cash) 2-1 Carb setup MX Portjob Raised compression (do a 93 octane mill on your stock head) drop a tooth on the front sprocket skip the VF3 reeds, do some Boyesens on the stock cages Timing Plate (+6 or +7 advanced) spend the rest on suspension.
  14. i don't get what the benefit of it is... selling yours to get another.... and it needs work. what is wrong with yours that makes you wanna sell it? if it's pipes you want, save just a little and buy some nice used ones....
  15. Fattys and PC2s.... FTW.
  16. hey, no need to get pissy, i didn't say anything snotty, you were asking for advice so I was helping out. reason I brought it up is because you are going to be jetting them and being that they're probably somewhat inefficient, they're not going to jet as consistently as say a pair of 28s or stockers.... i'd keep what you have in there, main jet wise and see how it does; should be close for a start.
  17. yes, that's true. and they are good v paddles...
  18. you are probably close, maybe down a size in the main, but let me tell you, imo, those carbs are just plain too big. there are guys with +7 mill strokers running 35s fine and you are stock running 39s..... just not going to be very efficient.
  19. yea, try a 50. and to the original poster, the 180 or 185 should work good, along with the 45 or 48 pilot.
  20. they have an online play, is it worth a chit? only thing i really do with xbox anymore is online play.
  21. yea, i said 45 up there, but you may need a 48. mine always used a 48 with great results. all of what I suggest will have to be played with and some tweaking will be necessary. i said 180 to 185 and he's at 190, close. Don't remember DW, do you have porting? Also, try playing with your air screw some to.
