I need to get a throttle cable for my PWK 2-1 setup like NOW. Haven't called any place but getting ready to call CarbpartsWarehouse.... just wondering if you all had any ideas as well.
Is there a certain Motion Pro part number any of you know of?
For comparo, my 21x12x8 Padla Brats comp cut on 8x8 .125 rims weigh 9.5 lbs; the 21x11x9 Sand Stars I had mounted on .125 wheels weighed in just over 15 lbs, so all that extra weight on the back end; no thanks. These Ultra Light Haulers coming should weigh in around 10 to 10.5 lbs. You absolutely can not beat Padla Brats, in weight and in performance.
hell, extreme 6s could be too much. key to paddles on something like that is allowing enough spin to keep the revs up or it'll bog going up hills and stuff.
coolhead would be next step (domes is up to you), or a milled head. porting as well would be a next step, and port based on your ride style, then bigger carbs.
radiator is unnecessary unless you'll be racing the baja.
30:1 is too much oil.... i never go any more than 32:1 but that's only with Yamalube. Everything else, I never go over 40:1, that's my number, plus it's mix ratio is easy to remember; 16 oz bottle to 5 gallons, none of this part bottle bullshit.
for xc / woods / mx you'd want mids, for flat track / dunes / play drag, you'd want highs...
and thats a good deal for that craigslist.... i'd almost buy them just cause....
Very possible. You're going to be moving more air through the same hole (carb) at every stroke than you were before. This translates to more vacuum and velocity through that same hole (carb) and therefore it's very likely that it will pull more fuel through with every stroke causing a rich condition.
yes. there's nothing in the top end that can 'come out'. if you tore it down, take some pictures of the piston (tops at least), the head and such and let us see. if the cylinders are off now, take some pics of them and then down in the lower end.
sounds like you're new to the banshee. the duals can be intimidating to jet whereas the single is super simple but can take a little time with getting it dead on. the single will get you a little better bottom end and smoother power, which will make it easier for you to ride as well. the first thing I do to any bike is pull the duals and throw a single on, it's just what I like and what I know.
nothing wrong with being cautious with a new bike, especially a banshee. take your time and you'll be dominating it in before you know it.
I'm a big fan of the single carb but it's super dependant on the tuning. Dual carbs are more forgiving with your jetting being a little off. What is your ride style and brand of pipes?
Paul Turners are incredible pipes. If they weren't so expensive new, they'd be a very dominant pipe, bad idea on Duncan's part. One thing about the chrome PT's is their triple chrome is some of the strongest you can get.... it's just indestructible.
