I need a sleeve for my left cylinder. Just wondering where the best place to get one was. Has anybody heard anything about those viper sleeves on e-bay?

Looking for a left side cylinder that is still on the first bore. I have a .030 piston to go in it so it can't be damaged just worn out.

Dynoport 2into1 And Trinity 2into1 Help!
cgamla replied to OC-SHEE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have fmf pipes 20cc domes and a cv33 kit. my pilot is a 40 which I think is to fat . My main is a 180 and my needle is all the way down(clip in the top) air screw out 3 turns. Seems to me every time I see some one asking about these trinity set ups they are way to rich from the idle circuit up to the start of the main. Mains seem to be good but I keep wondering if I can get different needles to fit my carb. When it really gets hot this summer how am I going to stay lean enough if my needle is all the way down now. Hope this helps. -
I have a set in mine and they seem to be just fine. They were lighter than the stock pistons and seem to be pretty good quality. The price is right on ebay thats for sure. I have revved mine to the moon and never had a problem. I liked the idea of cast pistons because I heard that forged required a good warm up time. I can't sit in my yard with my shee idiling for 10 minutes because my neighbors would go nuts. I need to start it up and go away instantly.

Love my X ring. I ride in sand or mud and it has just now started to show wear after almost 2 years. Isnt an X ring just like a more durable O ring? ??/

Lots more bottom end. Even the area below the powerband seems stronger and then the power hits sooner. So easy to jet and maintain. Love mine. I have FMF's .

I have done three now with automotive base coat clear systems now. Works good if you sandblast the frame. Also most urethanes even with hardener will remain soft for a few weeks. After a month or so they get really hard and have great abrasion resistance. I would not recommend that you spray it with acrylic enamel. Use a good urethane instead and for god sakes clear coat it multiple times. The clear is where your strength is.

The down side to sandblasting the plugs is that the area between the plugs outer case and the insulator can trap grains of sand. Then you put it in your motor and heat it all up and the sand can come out. Some plugs have a flat area up in there but then some have the insulator nearly touching the outer case. The closer the insulator to the case the better chance of getting sand lodged in there. If I can't clean it out with carb n choke cleaner I spring for new ones.

What Was Your First Motorcycle?
cgamla replied to superchicken's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Late 70's Chapparell frame with a cobbed in 80 cc honda four stroke motor. What a wreck. Then I had a Rupp 80 which was actually pretty nice until it burned up in a freak accident. -
The first thing I would do is clean the carbs and check the float heights. Then make sure they are synched so you have a good base line to start jetting from. Also check to make sure your getting enough fuel flow throught the petcock and filter if installed. Also get some new plugs so you get a good read. 40 :1 should be fine just stick with it once you decide on your ratio

should be something like 4 on 144 or 125 or 100 or 130 mm's. For the fronts I mean. Thanks

Thanks for the super super super super super super fast reply rebelbanshee2. You rock -
I wanted to buy some new front wheels and tires for my 89 shee. I know the rears have a different bolt pattern than the 90's and up. How about the front. I bought some new rear hubs to mount up normal size rear wheels. Do i have to by differnet spindles for the front?????????????????????????/

Just glad to see someone discussing jetting for the Trinity set up. It's nice to see what others are running just to get general ideas. Thanks Gents

What Do You Guys Do For Jobs?
cgamla replied to frocashmoney24's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Started out life as a mechanic then turned to body repair and painting. Entered Marines in 93 as a helicopter mechanic. Got out in 97 went back to being a mechanic. then in 2000 I got a job working on helicopters for the Marines again as a civilian That lasted 8months then I got a job with a company that does aircraft maintenance for FedEx. Now I am working again on Helicopters for the Marines that came back from Iraq and part time for the FedEx place. Ironicly I do the exact same job for the Marines that I did when I originally went in 10 years ago. -
I put some stuff on ebay yesterday. There are some stock carbs that have been moddded with idle screws and twist throttle cable included.

I had a similar problem when one of my reeds was hanging open. I would have to keep the engine screeaming or it would just stall. Had power way way up high but that was it. Might want to check and see if something fell down in there and is holding a reed open. Good luck

The topend is fresh with 140psi on both sides. I was using Klotz techniplate R. I switched to Maxima M that is supposed to be smokeless formula yesterday. It cut down on the smoke some but it still smokes blue alot. Was also hoping to find someone with the cv 33 system just to see what jetting they run.
-
more right after I start it but pretty much forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever
-
I have a mildly modified 89 with the trinity 1-2 cv 33 system. I have tried a few different premix's and they all seem to smoke like crazy. Some more that others. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what jetting they are running on a similar set up and if they ever noticed a change in exhaust smoke that they could attribute to a change in their premix oil or jetting. Or anything else for that matter. Also what about smoke less premix formulas?? Oh also I run 40 to 1

If the bolt pattern would fit you need to remember that rear rims have alot more offset so you might run into interference problems with a-arms and tie rods.
-
alot of shees come with little thin metal bolt retention tangs on the pad bolts . You will need a sharp chisel and hammer to get under that tang and bend it outof the way, Reuse it if you can and if you can't oh dang well. Mine has been gone for years. I think of it as weight savings lol

couldn't you "test" the stator by kicking it over with the headlights on, if they light up the stator works if not your problem is elseware... p8121 this won't work because the charging circuit for the lights and the cdi box are entirely seperate circuits.
