Sorry guys didnt get to go out this Sunday. We were putting my new engine in my Cobra. I did take the Golfcart out and it hit 12mph. LOL Up or down hill its the same. Damn speed control. We took it out in my brothers truck though and shot it inside the truck and it is infact with in 1mph. As advertised. We're trying to think of a good place for a top speed Banshee/CR500 run. Somewhere the law wont be such a concern. We're gonna try and get out to the little riding spot this weekend by my house. It has a good dirt road for drag racing. I dont think thats where Ill see top speed though. Too much spinning. Should give us an idea though. Im saying I do 75-80 down this dirt road. LOL Place yo bets.

Somr extra $$$$ coming, what should I get?

Dude Im sure he has enough sense to already have that. -
Thats the "something" I was missing.

Sounds like you have a sweet little "hobby" setup going. lol Heck you have as much as some shops do. I dig it. What Plasma cutter did you get? I got the 375 Extreme. Severe duty is like 5/8" and its portable. I started to go with a bigger unit but this one seemed like the best option for my intended use. I bought it for building stainless handrail. Which is usually 1"1/4-1"1/2 ID with 3/16" wall thickness. It works great for my application.

Ive always done mine by eye. Keep adjusting untill both open at the same time. Make sure they both open all the way and youve got it. I dont see the need for a tool to do this. Im wrong on things from time to time so if someone can please enlighten me on the need for a tool Id appreciate it.

He was in some legal trouble too as I understand. The stress from that couldve really hurt a man of his age.

Man that stinks. I thought his show was silly but I dug his products and his ability to "make" it like he did. On something he loved. He'll be missed for sure.

big prob, to much compression? only on one side?
jmd0346 replied to bink98xcab's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I messed up my float heights last time I changes jets on my OKO's. Caused my bowls to run out. I caught it and fixed it before it did any damage that I know of. Might wanna check that. -
I do Aluminum, stainless, brass at my shop. The first two arent really any harder than carbon if you have good fundemental welding skills. Its not easy but if you have the right equipment and gas its not as bad as alot of people make it out to be. Good choice with Miller. Im a Miller fan. I have lincoln too but I really like the Millers. I have 2 Miller migs(250 power source setup for Aluminum, a 251 MIG) and a miller plasma cutter.

Yep. Did it sound hollow and boggy? Something happened on that carb and it completly lost fuel. -

IMO 91 is too low for 150psi. Octane booster isnt gonna help either. Its a gimmick. It raises actual octane by like half a point at most. The only real octane booster is Torco. However, looks like you really leaned out on that jug for some reason. If it was just octane both pistons would be affected. It has to really go seriously lean to melt a hole in a piston. You should have been able to feel it. It should have gave signs of leaning out. -
Yep it should work fine. The OD of the 30mm is the same as the OD of the 28mm iirc. Its just bored out ID. I have an old Wicked Racing intake for stock carbs and my 30's fit perfect. If you havent Id get some K&N pod filters for them. Unless you ride in water alot I think the pods w/outerwears are much better than any airbox setup.

Thats some weak shit they got there. Except for the Snowmobiles. Damn those things are powerfull. My Terminator Cobra or my Banshee have all that junk covered.

how would a predator compare to a shee
jmd0346 replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Put it in second, tach it out and dump the clutch. Sit towrads the back untill you feel it hook then scoot up. He shouldnt get on take off with that. LOL My brother 450R Honda is a good match up for a piped shee. He wins some and loses some. For reference. -

LOL I hear ya. I rarely get into to top gear myself were I ride. You get what I outlined for you and a Raptor shouldnt be a problem in a drag race. Ive never run one but Ive run a 660 Raptor on spray and beat it over and over. Friend of mine. The new 450's arent even a race for my bike. In a drag race I mean. They have much better suspension setups for the track. Trails Id say the Banshee is still better but thats just opinion. My brothers Honda 450R rides through trails like it doesnt have suspension. It pushes through turns. A Banshee rides like a damn Caddy! I guess its just what you get used to. -
Its been running fine? Mods? A backfire when starting is usually too rich. When taching it out through the gears and it backfires its too lean usually.

Get a cool head first thing. Cool heads arent good all because they cool better but you can dial in your compression. If you have a piston failure and damage the dome you can just swap it. I have a Vitos Hemi head and recommend it. Actually they have a Hemi 2 now. There are several others that are just as good though. Then Id get a good port job. Id say a dune port. Seems like the dune port most builders do is pretty aggresive but not a full drag port. Those two mods will take care of your 800 bux. When you get some more money get some 30mm OKO's or similar. They are a good all around carb. Dont go bigger than you need. Those 30mm's will handle alot of engine. IMO the setup I have on my bike is about the best for most of us. Now I dont mean the exact parts I just mean the overall package. Id say it makes in the 60 hp range and is a handfull to ride. Which is what we want right? LOL Im 6' 215 and in pretty good shape and it works me. A 150lb dude would be a danger on this thing. Seriously its still rideable in the trails, a good drag racer and hauls serious ass on open roads and trails. Ive had it since new in 2000 and I researched on this site before I bought parts. Like I said I think its the best overall style of setup for most folks. You are headed in the right direction with yours. -
Huh? Banshees aint got nothing to do with Indians. A Banshee is a Irish female mythological being. Supposedly they screamed really loud. LOL Some how I think your just joking but anyway theres my history lesson.

What do you guys fab? I build steel stairs, handrails, ladders, gates, Structural steel etc for commercial buildings. I have a few stick welders, three migs, a tig/heliarc, plasma cutter, oxy/acetylene torch setup. Several other fab tools. Uni-hydro iron worker, band saws, chop saws etc.

Unless Im missing something you should be getting more than 130psi. I have stage 2(dune port basically) port and 19cc domes and I get around 145-150psi. Im also on the low side.

Does anyone like the Banshee "Raptor Plastics?"
jmd0346 replied to NN2's topic in Banshee Appearance
Thats one of the best descriptions of a Banshee. A muscle car! Simple. Not many bells and whistles but hauls serious amounts of ass!! -

What pipes? Id get a good port job and maybe some 30mm OKO's. $800 should cover that. Could Give you 55-65+ hp depending on port style, tune and pipes. -
Im running a 50 and 162 at the present. Still dont htink Im jetted in perfect but Im getting close. I think I may end up back at a 165 main. Thniking of changing needles too. Alot of folks recommend the EEK and DEK needle. The ones my OKO's came with a J??..?

Its hard to understand what youre saying but Id get rid of all the wiring you dont need. Ie.. the key switch and TORS wiring, lights if you dont need them. What the hell do you need a key for? Dont say "So nobody can steal it".
